Welcome to the Lumber Exchange Event Center, a historic gem nestled in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota. You'll be swept away by The Lumber Exchange's old-world charm— grand arches, romantic chandeliers, lofty ceilings, and dazzling marble floors. The original exposed brick paired with modern touches creates an industrial vibe that’s sure to captivate both you and your guests. The venue comes with two private suites and a dedicated cocktail hour space, making it ideal for intimate gatherings or grand celebrations. We’re here to make your day seamless from start to finish. Our venue rental includes a range of essentials, from tables, chairs, and linens to servers, bartenders, a wireless microphone, surround sound, two private suites, and liability insurance. We take care of setup and teardown so you can focus on enjoying your day. With skyway access to two hotels and a 700-stall covered parking garage, travel and lodging for you and your guests are both convenient and stress-free.

If you’re dreaming of a lavish wedding, this nine-story atrium is perfect. With natural light pouring in, a cascading fountain, sparkling chandeliers, and vintage lamp posts, The Fountain Room is simply breathtaking. The River Room is adjacent to the Fountain Room and showcases the original windows of the building. The River Room serves as the included cocktail hour area.

Best day ever!
We got married at Lumber Exchange Event Center and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From our first conversation, the team was quick to respond and genuinely understood what we wanted for our day. They were helpful with every decision and made us feel heard throughout the planning process. The venue itself is stunning, and exactly how we envisioned. On our wedding day, the service was seamless and the staff went out of their way to take care of us and our guests. We'd absolutely recommend Lumber Exchange to any couple looking for a beautiful space with a team that truly cares.

Venue full of character!
We had such an amazing experience with our wedding venue, and so much of that was thanks to Hannah Fox and Cici. From the very beginning, their communication was clear, timely, and incredibly effective. They did an amazing job keeping all of the timelines and details aligned, which made the entire planning process and day-of-timelines feel effortless. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. The Fountain Room was the perfect setting for both our ceremony and reception, while Dylan’s was a wonderful space for cocktail hour. Each space had its own atmosphere and flowed beautifully throughout the day. We are still getting comments from our guests on the natural character the venue has. The food was another highlight! Everything was delicious, including the desserts, and the plated meal service was incredibly smooth. Despite having a full room of guests, everything was served efficiently and seamlessly, allowing us to stay present and enjoy the celebration. Hannah F was truly wonderful to work with. Her organization, communication, and attention to detail gave us so much confidence throughout the planning process and on the wedding day. She made everything feel easy and well-coordinated, and we never felt like we had to worry about the logistics. We are so grateful for the care and professionalism the LX team brought to our wedding. Between the beautiful spaces, amazing food, and incredible team, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue experience!

A Timeless Venue with an Incredible Team
The venue and staff were incredibly professional, organized, and helpful from start to finish. I planned my wedding from another state, which can be overwhelming, but Will made the process smooth by guiding me through every step and keeping me on track with clear communication and organization. The food was absolutely fantastic. Many of our guests commented on the generous portions and amazing flavor, my husband and I were actually able to sit down and enjoy the meal. The team was also very accommodating with dietary restrictions and flexible in helping us stay within our budget. The venue itself is stunning, with high ceilings and exposed brick that create a timeless, elegant atmosphere. The only challenge we experienced was during the unloading process. Since we brought in many of our own items, unloading had to be done directly on the street, which was hectic and involved stopping traffic and dealing with frustrated drivers. This could be difficult for couples doing a lot of DIY decor, though it likely wouldn’t be an issue if vendors are handling setup and breakdown. Aside from this logistical challenge, we had an overall wonderful experience.

A Perfect Day!
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. From the moment we toured the space, we knew it was something special. The historic building was absolutely beautiful, the Fountain Room elegant and well-maintained, and everything felt thoughtfully designed for a seamless wedding day. The staff truly set this venue apart. They were professional, responsive, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly and stress-free, which allowed us to actually enjoy the moment instead of worrying about logistics. Our guests are still talking about how stunning the venue was and how well everything flowed from ceremony to reception. If you’re looking for a venue that combines beauty, organization, and genuinely kind people, the Lumber Exchange is it. We’re so grateful we chose this place for such an important day and would recommend it without hesitation.
