We are beyond pleased with MaraVilla. Communication from the start was amazing, up to the very last minute changes- they were very accommodating. We also loved Sarah, our DOC. She made sure everything was running smoothly and made the day stress free. Couldn’t have asked for a better person.

Unfortunately, my experience with Mara Villa was extremely disappointing. Before changing my event venue, I called and explained that I was considering moving to a location that better suited my event. I specifically asked whether my $1,000 deposit could be transferred since it was nonrefundable. A Mara Villa representative, who is also one of the owners, confirmed that I could transfer it to another person or use it for a future date, provided the date was available. My decorator used my phone to make this conversation and I was also present during this conversation and heard the confirmation. Based on that information, I notified them of my decision the following day and paid for another venue. Afterward, another owner contacted me and said the deposit could no longer be transferred because the event was only one week away. However, the signed agreement states that payments are nonrefundable and transferable and does not include that restriction. She later offered to let me use the venue in the future but said they would deduct $500 from my deposit and require me to pay the venue’s new price. This $500 deduction is not stated in my agreement. When I attempted to add my decorator to the call to confirm what had been said, the owner refused to speak with her and ended the call. Had I been told that I would lose my deposit, I would have reconsidered changing venues. I relied on the information provided by one of the owners and expected the business to honor both its written agreement and the owner’s verbal confirmation. The conflicting information from the owners and the manner in which the situation was handled felt very unprofessional. After the owner confirmed that the deposit was transferable, I contacted several event planners I know and work with to see whether they had clients with upcoming events who might be interested in taking over the booking. I also shared videos of the venue that I had specifically requested from Mara Villa and received by text. Since my next personal event is not until December 2027, I made this effort in good faith to arrange a transfer much sooner. Their later refusal to honor the transfer was therefore even more disappointing.

We had such a wonderful experience celebrating our daughter’s first birthday at Mara Villa! Nina was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make the day special for us. She made sure everything was taken care of, which made the whole day feel stress-free. We truly appreciated all the little extra touches and her willingness to work with us. She even went the extra mile to take amazing pictures for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special milestone! Thank you Nina.

Mara Villa Katy is such a beautiful reception hall. Nina and team are amazing. From beginning to end - we had a flawless experience - 10/10. Would definitely be using their service again.
