About this venue

Overlook is the premier event venue located within the historic Civic Club of Harrisburg (TCCH). Situated at 612 N. Front Street, it is the only remaining private residence on the river side of Front Street, offering a unique, unobstructed view of the Susquehanna River. The venue is housed in the Flemming Mansion, a stately Tudor-style stone manor built in the early 20th century. It blends historical "Manor House" charm with functional event spaces.

Our event spaces

The River Room

The room is anchored by a stunning hand-carved Flemish oak fireplace and features century-old built-in seating (settles) that adds to the "Old World" manor feel.

While the Grand Ballroom is the space for high-energy dancing, the River Room is the soul of the Flemming Mansion’s first floor. It is designed for intimacy, warmth, and, as the name suggests, the best views of the Susquehanna River. The River Room serves as the primary parlor of the mansion. Because it faces west, it is legendary for its sunset views. As the sun dips below the horizon across the river, the entire room is filled with a golden glow—making it the prime spot for wedding photography.

The Civic Club uses a Select Caterer List. You aren't strictly limited to one person, but you must choose from their approved partners who are familiar with the mansion's historic kitchen facilities. Frequent partners include: Mountain Laurel Catering Stock’s on 2nd Cafe Fresco/Center City Events Sir D’s Catering
This is the most common concern. Because the venue is on the river side of Front Street, there is no dedicated on-site parking lot. Street Parking: Available along Front Street (check meters/signs). Parking Garages: The South Street Garage is a popular nearby option (~0.3 miles away). Pro Tip: Many couples hire a shuttle service from a nearby hotel (like the Hilton or Crowne Plaza) or provide Uber/Lyft codes for guests.
The venue offers a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. If the weather turns, ceremonies are typically moved into the Grand Ballroom on the second floor. The ballroom’s 25-foot ceilings and river-view windows provide a "plan B" that doesn't feel like a sacrifice.
Yes. While it is an old manor house, there is a chairlift to assist guests with the stairs to the second-floor Grand Ballroom, and the first-floor rooms/gardens are level with the entrance.
