About this venue
We are proud and happy to help curate every wedding to our couple's romantic specifications. We include coordination, and no 'must use' vendors list so you can make your wedding personal and relaxing. We only offer totally private rentals, so you can feel like your guests are visiting you in your own home. Our pet-friendly property even lets you bring your pups. Rixey offers the most spectacular views... from the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains on one side, to the bottom of Rixey Lake on the other. Our rooftop and patio spaces make for a magical setting both at sunset and at night, and the Ballroom, complete with climate control and ADA-accessible bathrooms, means that inclement weather won't have a negative effect on your special day. The history of the house lends an air of vintage elegance, but what most of our couples love is the comfy atmosphere provided by big sofas, real fires, and the ability to curl up at the end of the night in the library with your favorite people.

For up to 250 guests, and outdoor ceremonies and celebrations, you’ll want to utilize the venue’s lake view ceremony site and patio celebration area in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The serene water will play as an elegant backdrop as you say “I do” among those you love most. Not to mention, you’ll enjoy complete access to the venue’s 1,800-square-foot rooftop terrace, and the rest of the Manor with multiple reception rooms.

Great Venue, Great Team, and Great Wedding!
Not only is Rixey Manor a beautiful wedding venue, but Isadora, Grace, and the entire Rixey Manor team are truly masters of the craft of weddings. From the initial tour through the wedding day itself, their experience, organization, attention to detail, and genuine care made the entire process feel effortless and made our wedding day absolutely perfect. We always felt like we were in capable hands, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to help bring our wedding together. From our very first tour, it was clear how much experience the Rixey team has hosting weddings. Isadora was able to walk us through how the day could flow, taking into account the time of year and all the different elements of our wedding to help us create the best possible timeline. That level of knowledge and guidance continued throughout the entire planning process. We were provided with a personalized list of approved vendors as well. While we were absolutely free to choose vendors outside of that list, having recommendations from vendors who already knew Rixey Manor made the search process significantly easier. The vendors we ultimately worked with were familiar with the venue and knew how to make the most of the space and facilities. Rixey also has an incredible collection of decorations and items from previous weddings that couples can use to personalize and decorate the Manor. One of our favorite parts of working with Rixey was their wedding “Bootcamp,” where local vendors came in to give us a preview of what a traditional Rixey Manor wedding could look like and share examples of how couples had customized their weddings in the past. It was incredibly helpful for sparking ideas and making the planning process feel much less overwhelming. Planning the wedding using their website helped make everything organized. Isadora did an amazing job setting the planning website up and the user interface was beautiful. A few weeks before the wedding, the team also held a walkthrough with us to finalize the timeline and go over all the details of the day. Even on the wedding day itself, the Rixey team went above and beyond. They stocked the Manor with snacks to help make the space feel like home while we were getting ready. It was just one of many small touches that showed how much thought they put into making the day special for us. Most importantly, throughout the entire process, we always felt like we were in capable hands. Isadora, Grace, and the entire Rixey Manor team were incredibly helpful, organized, and attentive, and they were genuinely passionate about making our wedding day special. They also helped settle our nerves and carved out spaces in the day for us to relax and have some quiet time. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or a better team to help bring our wedding together. Our wedding at Rixey Manor was truly everything we hoped it would be, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Rixey Manor to anyone looking for an amazing wedding venue and an incredible team to work with!

The Best Venue in VA
Rixey Manor is obviously beautiful, romantic, cozy, and everything else we were looking for in a venue. But Isadora, Grace, and the entire Rixey team were the real reason we chose the manor for our wedding venue. We toured so many other places and this team is the only one that made us feel like they cared about us and our day being perfect, and that rang true once wedding day rolled around. If you are considering Rixey Manor, book it. They will make sure your wedding day is the best day of your lives! We were there from Friday to Sunday and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!!

I can’t recommend this venue highly enough! The location is absolutely beautiful and the staff are incredible. From our first tour, my husband and I felt at home at the venue and Dora, the owner, made us feel like we had known her our whole lives. The weeks leading up to our event were stressful with nailing down all the details, but Dora and the manager Grace were quick to reply to all our last minute questions (via text!) and helped us make sure everything was ready. Grace and Dora kept me sane the whole weekend and were incredible during the actual wedding. Staying on site for two nights helped alleviate the stress of where to hold our rehearsal, and being able to get ready in the manor was perfect. The wedding itself was gorgeous and being able to borrow decorations from the venue’s “borrow cottage” helped eliminate unnecessary costs. I’ll be recommending this venue to all my friends who get married in the future.

Rixey Manor was an absolute dream venue for our wedding! From start to finish, Isadora and Grace went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Along with their amazing bartending team, they hosted us and our loved ones for the entire weekend—our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, reception, and even brunch the next morning. Staying at the manor with our bridal party made the whole experience feel so special and intimate. The space itself is stunning, but it was truly the warmth, professionalism, and care from the Rixey Manor team that made it unforgettable. Every detail was handled seamlessly, and they created such a welcoming, joyful environment for us and our guests. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better place to celebrate such an important weekend. If you’re looking for a venue that’s breathtaking and a team that treats you like family, Rixey Manor is it.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Rixey Manor! Choosing to have our wedding there was one of the best decisions we made. It was truly an unforgettable venue that had everything we could have dreamed of and more! From the moment we booked, Isadora and Grace were amazing—accommodating, knowledgeable, extremely responsive, and helpful answering any questions we had and offering much needed guidance. There’s no need for a separate wedding planner because they are an exceptional team! They provided excellent vendor recommendations, seamlessly coordinated every detail, and made the entire planning process feel manageable and smooth. They really thought of everything to make our wedding day unique and special! We had the entire manor for the weekend, from Friday through Sunday, which included beautiful bedrooms where some of our family stayed and it felt so special that we could all stay together and celebrate. And the guest house where the groomsmen stayed and got ready was very helpful and so much fun! This made the experience feel like a full, immersive celebration. We held both our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the manor, which made everything convenient for our guests and was the perfect way to start our wedding weekend. Our ceremony was originally going to be outdoors in front of the manor, but rain forced us to move it to our tented reception area. Isadora and Grace handled this change in plans with such ease, ensuring that our wedding was still beautiful, stress-free, and magical—rain or shine. They quickly transitioned everything so our reception could also take place on the scenic patio, where elegant decorations and stunning views created theperfect atmosphere. Rixey Manor is much more than just a beautiful venue. The manor itself is a treasure, with its ballroom, cozy library, fireplaces, and a charming rooftop veranda where guests can hang out and enjoy incredible views. It felt like a home away from home, but with all the elegance of a high-end venue. The staff, including the friendly and attentive bartending team, made us and our guests feel so special. I got ready at the manor with my bridal party—15 bridesmaids, plus family members—and it was such a great experience! The team thought of everything and provided everything we needed to be prepared for the day. They were also great with children, helping our two flower girls feel welcome and comfortable. If you are considering Rixey Manor for your wedding, absolutely book it! You will be taken care of every step of the way. You’ll be surrounded by stunning scenery and cared for by a team who genuinely wants your day to be perfect.
