Sanctuary Farm is a wedding venue located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This environmentally conscious wedding venue is nestled just eight miles west of Chapel Hill. Guided by sustainable practices, it operates solely on solar power and boasts a flourishing community garden. At Sanctuary Farm, they take pride in offering a level of rustic elegance and unparalleled hospitality to ensure your wedding is a truly memorable experience. The farm sits on a picturesque landscape and can accommodate up to 180 of your guests. Within the renovated barn, you will find a full-service catering kitchen with enclosed and open lofts designed to accommodate rehearsal dinners and receptions. For your ceremony, you have your choice of two sites - one is our newly constructed outdoor ceremony site under the trees named "The Grove," and the second is our pondside gazebo where birdsong can be heard. There are a range of overnight accommodation options, including geodesic domes, yurts, and barn rooms.

    Amazing experience for us and our guests

    A great wedding weekend. We really valued being able to be on site for the full weekend with our loved ones and that was exactly what we got. Everyone said it was one of the most relaxing and low stress weddings they have been to. We had time to connect with our guests, and the folks at sanctuary farm were so helpful every step of the way.

    An Enchanted Wedding at Sanctuary Farm NC

    Sanctuary Farm NC was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. The setting was more than just beautiful—it was alive. Towering trees swayed gently in the breeze, birds skimmed across the pond, and the scent of fresh earth and blooming flowers filled the air. Everything about this place felt like it was meant for love, connection, and celebration. Our ceremony felt intimate and deeply personal, as if nature itself was blessing our vows. When it was time to celebrate, the barn and reception loft transformed into a lively, joyful space filled with laughter, music, and incredible food made from fresh, local ingredients. Sanctuary Farm isn’t just a venue—it’s a feeling. A place where time slows down, where love is celebrated with intention, and where memories are woven into the very fabric of nature.

    eautiful farm (eco-friendly) wedding

    I celebrated my wedding at Sanctuary Farm in the Spring of 2023 and it was absolutely magical. Everything from the beautiful farm setting, to the lakeside gazebo ceremony, to dancing under the stars, I am still absolutely blown away by our entire wedding experience. It was also really great to have our close friends and family stay on the farm with us in Sanctuary Farm's rustic and unique accommodations (yomes) set among the trees. If you are contemplating an eco-friendly, fun and vibrant outdoor space for your wedding, look no further than Sanctuary Farm!

    My partner and I just had our wedding here at the beginning of June, and it was an incredibly special weekend! We had imagined a very relaxed wedding with all of our favorite people and it was so great to have the whole weekend to see everyone. We had about 120 guests in total for the ceremony and around 40 staying on site. Everyone was so comfortable in the yurts, yomes, and barn rooms. Even in the June heat the yomes are shaded enough by night to provide a nice place to crash, also the farm supplies battery operated fans!! Pam and Constantin were amazing in helping everything go smoothly and yet I barely saw them weekend of. I would just turn around and the fire was built and trash was whisked away. It is a perfect combination of feeling taken care of but also like you are on your own and they really let you build the event that you want. I am so very happy with our choice for where we held our love fest and can't imagine it going any better! We really loved hanging out with the baby goats and horse and eating blueberries off the bush. Also Houdini, the kitty, made an appearance in our family photos. Houdini foreverrrr. Thanks for everything! :)

Yes, we have ample parking for your guests on-site.
Yes, all of our downstairs and outdoor facilities are wheelchair accessible. Our upstairs barn lofts are not ADA accessible, yet, however we are working on making all of our spaces ADA accessible.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable.
Our farm and venue is 25 miles from Raleigh-Durham International airport and is accessible by private car or Uber/Lyft.
We do not provide wedding insurance, nor is it a requirement in order for you to have your wedding at Sanctuary Farm. However, we strongly suggest that you purchase Wedding Insurance to cover any expenses relating to the potential postponement or cancellation of your wedding.
Exclusive access to Sanctuary Farm, choice of ceremony and reception site, use of catering kitchen, use of our fire pit with stocked wood, use of tables and chairs for up to 100 people, engagement photo session on the land
This depends on the package that you book with us. Our minimum rental period is 12 hours, which includes setup and breakdown time. We also have weekend and week-long packages available that include overnight accommodations.
