About this venue

The Historic Baker Building has been part of Downtown Lubbock since 1928, so when you celebrate here, you're adding your story to nearly a century of history. From 1940–1942, the building hosted USO dances, welcoming servicemen and the community to gather and dance. Today, couples still celebrate on those same historic hardwood floors. The Baker retains incredible original character, including its vintage tin ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. We even still have two original chairs from 1928. Our wrap-around mezzanine overlooks the ballroom and is one of the building's most distinctive architectural features. Nearly 100 years after opening its doors, the Baker is still doing what it has done for generations: bringing people together to celebrate. Your wedding doesn't just happen in a historic building. It becomes another chapter in its history.

Let me just say : THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! We had our wedding and reception there and i can’t even put into words how beautiful and magical it was. Not only due to the gorgeous & historic building, but also due to the wedding help and coordination. Alisha made everything so smooth and i was able to fully enjoy every moment. I was scared of wedding preparations and planning but the Baker Building staff made everything so smooth and incredible. I couldn’t recommend this place enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What an amazing experience. The location is beautiful. Aesthetics are incredible. But the best part of the whole experience was working with Alisha. It never felt like we were working with a vendor. She felt like an extension of the team. Always ready to help - and with a smile. Thoroughly recommend this location for any of your events!

The Historic Baker Building is the perfect choice for a wedding in Lubbock. The building is beautiful on its own or dressed up as much as you desire. With Alisha's help, we planned a beautiful wedding in two short months. She helped us secure vendors and with decorations. The bridal suite has plenty of room for the bridal party. The transition from the ceremony to reception was seamless. Alisha jumped in at the last minute when the send off didn't go as planned and saved the send off. Thank you, Alisha, for all your help!
