We are sorry to hear about your negative feelings regarding the wedding hosted at our venue on August 22, 2026. It is always our goal to provide a safe and enjoyable experience and help each couple have the wedding day they envisioned. Because several statements in this review do not reflect the circumstances of the event, we would like to respectfully provide some factual clarification. In the 10 days leading up to the wedding, our area received approximately seven inches of rain, leaving the wooded ceremony site extremely wet. During the couple’s initial venue tour months earlier, they experienced similar wet conditions. At that time, the grounds were too wet to transport them to the wooded site by side-by-side, so they toured it on foot. They were therefore aware before choosing this ceremony location that weather and ground conditions could affect access and transportation. Due to the significant rainfall before the wedding, we recommended relocating the ceremony to an outdoor location closer to the barn or moving it indoors. The couple wished to proceed in the woods, and we accommodated that request. Our staff set up the ceremony there and used an alternate hayride route to transport guests while minimizing further damage to the saturated grounds. The ceremony ultimately took place in the woods as requested. The approximately 30-minute delay was due to a storm cell containing potentially severe weather that was projected to reach our area around the scheduled 4:30 p.m. ceremony time. Our staff continuously monitored the radar. The movement and timing of storms are outside anyone’s control, and decisions must be made based on the weather information available at the time. For safety reasons, we do not transport guests into or allow them to remain in the wooded ceremony area when thunder or lightning may be in the area. The site is across the road and requires hayride transportation, making it more difficult to quickly move guests to shelter. As soon as the radar indicated the storm was moving north and the immediate threat had passed, we proceeded with the ceremony in the woods. The possibility of relocating the ceremony and the safety concerns involved had been discussed with the couple beforehand. Unfortunately, law enforcement was later called to the property in response to aggressive behavior involving members of the wedding party and/or guests. This incident is documented in an official police report. Additionally, an iPad and an air-conditioning remote belonging to the venue were discovered missing after the event. Law enforcement became involved in the recovery of the property, and this matter is documented in a second official police report. We regret that the evening ended under these circumstances. Our staff made every reasonable effort to accommodate the couple’s requested ceremony location while protecting the safety of their guests, our staff, and our property.
