Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (43 reviews)
  • Starts at $175
  • Serves Keystone, CO

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
I was so impressed with The Faux Bouquets for our wedding! Brittany, the owner, was incredibly quick to respond, thorough in her communication, and had such a friendly and fun personality. She really went above and beyond to make sure we got the perfect faux floral arrangements for our big day. The quality of their work is truly unique and you can tell they are so passionate about what they do. We were able to take advantage of a special deal on the flowers I wanted, and they even upgraded some of the pieces for free! Compared to other faux floral companies in the area, we were able to get much more for our money. I'm so glad I took the time for the 15 minute consultation with Brittany - it was so helpful to see the items at scale and she customized our order perfectly. Our wedding is not until 2027 but we got them early and I LOVE them. I also like that the suites aren’t cookie cutter so each of my bridesmaids have their own style.

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

Being chosen to bring a couples ideas to life is an honor and one that brings us so much joy.

I had the pleasure of working with these two ladies for my wedding, and overall, I truly believe they are wonderful people to work with. They have great style and genuinely want to do the very best for their clients! When I first met with them during the beginning stages of planning, they were willing to meet with me in person to discuss the vision I had for my wedding. They were excited and eager to hear my ideas while also bringing ideas of their own, which I really appreciated. As a bride, I did find myself wanting a little more communication throughout the planning process. As my wedding day got closer, my anxiety increased, and I personally would have appreciated more updates and communication along the way. I don’t mean that negatively—it was simply something that would have helped me feel more comfortable and confident. I shared my Pinterest board and vision with them, and I believe they brought several of my ideas to life beautifully. I did found myself wanting some different details at the reception that i thought we discussed, although I understand this may have been influenced by my budget and what I was able to afford. Overall, I received so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything looked. I especially loved the florals they created for my bouquet. I honestly wish I could have afforded to incorporate more of those same flowers throughout the reception because they were absolutely beautiful! They created my bouquet and my family’s boutonnieres for our elopement ceremony in Moab, Utah, and they were gorgeous. They even helped me figure out how to travel with the flowers for 6–7 hours, which I really appreciated. They also provided eucalyptus leaves throughout our wedding reception in Akron. I have attached pictures from both events. One thing I would recommend discussing ahead of time is availability on the actual wedding day. These ladies took on my wedding as well as another wedding that same weekend and had already committed to being present at the other wedding. They were still able to organize the florals and decorations for my wedding, which I greatly appreciated, but they were not able to be at my reception. I knew and agreed to this ahead of time, so it was not unexpected; however, there were a few things I feel may have gone more smoothly if they had been able to be there personally. There was also a lot happening for them that weekend, and I am genuinely grateful they were still able to help with so many aspects of our wedding. I loved how excited and invested they were in making our day special. One area that was difficult for me was cleanup the following day. We were asked to organize and separate the different pieces that belonged to them, but I found the process confusing, which added stress during an already emotional and exhausting time. Overall, I would absolutely recommend working with these wonderful ladies! My biggest advice for future brides would be to communicate exactly what you envision, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to share your feelings or concerns throughout the planning process. I would also recommend discussing pricing in detail and making sure you understand the cost of everything you want included, as wedding expenses can add up very quickly. Despite some of the challenges, I truly appreciated their creativity, excitement, and willingness to help make our wedding days special. I am thankful for the beautiful florals and decorations they provided.

We are so grateful we chose Privé Events as our wedding florist. Working with Sam Hoffman was truly a game changer. Neither of us knows much about flowers, and we were honestly a bit overwhelmed at the thought of having to figure out floral design. But Sam made the process feel so easy and approachable. She met us exactly where we were. We knew we wanted something simple, elegant, and cost-conscious, and she delivered on every front without ever making us feel like we had to compromise on beauty or vision. Sam never made us feel pressured to “reinvent the wheel,” and instead helped us create something that felt natural, timeless, and just right for us. The communication was clear and low-stress from start to finish, and the end result completely exceeded our expectations. Privé Events provided everything from bouquets and aisle markers to greenery on the venue’s wooden beams, a stunning floral chuppah, and gorgeous bud vases and table arrangements for the reception. Every detail was thoughtfully done and beautifully placed. It all came together perfectly and really elevated the atmosphere of the entire day. We can't recommend Privé Events and Sam enough, especially for couples looking for someone who gets it and can bring your vision to life without stress or pressure. She made it feel effortless and fun, and we truly loved working with her.

My love for design and flowers started in college when I had the opportunity to work with one of the most talented floral designers I have ever met. After college, our paths crossed again when she was my instructor for floral design school. After a career in marketing, I decided I needed a change. Flowers give me the opportunity to combine my love for design, “accents” for a wedding or event, with the amazing “scents” flowers provide and "Acscents" was born over 20 years ago. I enjoy spending time with my hubby, dog, friends, family and the mountains and outdoors, enjoying all the beauty that God has given us.

Tammy at Acscents Floral is the best florist I have ever worked with. We first met Tammy at the Bridal Expo in Denver where we immediately had a connection and knew we needed to work with her. A few months later, we met for the first time where she took over her allotted meeting amount to get to know us and exactly what we were looking for in terms of our wedding flowers. When there was ever a point when we did not have an answer to a certain aspect, she skillfully directed us to what would work best at the venue and within our color pallet. She even brought to our attention details that we never even thought of with the wedding overall. Throughout the time leading up to the wedding, Tammy was very open with communication and forth coming with any price changes due to the pricing of her suppliers. As someone who lives for every detail, this was a huge thing that stood out. Come to the wedding day and Tammy was a member of our family at that point. She showed up when she said she would with the most stunning pieces that everyone was raving about months after. Her and her husband set up the entire ceremony area, reception, and cocktail area before the ceremony started and even stayed to help move over certain pieces that were being reused throughout the area. She did all of this with a smile and such compassion that you can just see the love she puts into each event. Tammy is really a part of our family now and will always have a special place in our heart when we reflect on our wedding day.
