Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (108 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Maggie Valley, NC

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

“This was such an amazing service! I had the pleasure of video chatting with Alexa, and she truly brought every part of my floral vision to life. We explored different flower options together, dissected my Pinterest board, and she helped me craft pure magic—all within my budget. The custom recipes she created were incredibly helpful and gave me the perfect guidance to DIY the flowers of my dreams. Here are some pictures of my bouquet, my bridesmaids’ bouquets, and the ceremony/reception arrangements. I couldn’t recommend Flower Moxie enough—and fingers crossed you get the amazing Alexa to help make your flower dreams come true too!”

“Sofya and I went back and forth with pictures and emails on what my vision was and she executed it flawlessly! I got so many compliments from guests about how gorgeous the flowers were and how the large the roses were. The day of my wedding the weather was horrid for an outside beach wedding. Raining all afternoon and super high winds. We had an arch covered with flowers Sofya worked on. It got ravaged by the wind and rain while we were waiting to see if the rain passed. She stayed at least 3 hours longer to fix the arch and make sure it was gorgeous again for my 20 min ceremony we slipped in between the rain showers. She went above and beyond to help make sure I got my beautiful ceremony flower arch pictures. I could not thank her enough! Run don't walk to book her for not only the breathtakingly beautiful quality of her work but also her dedication to her clients!”

Weddings are a celebration of love. As humans, we have a deep, primal need for a “village,” a group of people whom we trust to support us. So when we get together for a wedding, we get to share that love with those we care about. Just like a painter or a poet, those involved in the planning of a wedding are artists hired to create a scene that reflects the love in the space. We would love to be a part of your team!

“Oh my gosh. Where do I even begin? Well, to start, Miss Madi was the FIRST vendor I booked. I wanted my florals to match my vision and she and I have been collaborating, emailing back and forth, and brainstorming for what feels like ages. When the day of finally came, I knew that the florals were in EXCELLENT hands. Miss Madi came two hours early, NAILED the floral arrangements, and made sure that everything was perfect. She did SO, SO well! I cannot sing her praises enough. If you book her for your wedding, know that your vision will come to life exactly as you'd like, and that your voice and opinions will be heard! Miss Madi, you did so excellent and I can't thank you enough for your help and expertise. I've said it before and I'll say it again; YOU'RE A ROCKSTAR!”

“The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!”

RetroWhims Floristry
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Maggie Valley, NC

I’m Tracie Heidt, a boutique wedding florist based in Cashiers, NC — and I design from your story, not a template. Every RetroWhims design begins with listening. Before I ever choose a flower, I start with your vision, your color palette, and the feeling you want your day to hold. What emerges is something whimsical, personal, and rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

“Tracie at Retrowhims did an amazing job with florals for my wedding. She worked closely with me to learn exactly what I was looking for, and then executed it perfectly! She truly excels at listening to what you are looking for and then finding a way to bring that vision to life. From the bouquets, to the corsages, to the centerpieces, each piece was perfectly put together and stunning. I specifically requested using Sola Wood Flowers, and Tracie was able to paint and build them to look beautiful. Even better, I have been able to keep some of the arrangements and use them as decor in my home, which has been such a special way to incorporate our special day into our daily lives. Years later and they still look good as new! I am eternally thankful to Retrowhims for making my wedding day the most beautiful day of my life. We couldn't have done it without her! Thank you!”

The Dainty Daydream
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,500
  • Serves Maggie Valley, NC

Hi Im Emily :) A wedding Planner turned Florist. I have a love for all things pretty including event design and florals. I love designing anything from organic to refined flowers. Which means any design ideas you bring to me will be a fun challenge i'm up for.

“Working with Emily at The Dainty Daydream was so easy. I had ideas of an abundance of citrus fruits in baskets and cut open on the tables to accompany the flowers and add a fun, summer vibe - and she delivered exactly what I wanted. When we mentioned wanting orange trees by the altar, she didn't say no when she found out orange trees were not in season in summer. Instead, she got creative. Emily sourced the citrus trees and tied oranges to the leaves with clear string so they looked like they were in bloom. It was so beautiful and very creative. I also had concerns right before our wedding that our contracted arrangements might feel small for what I was picturing, but Emily stepped up and sourced fluffy florals that made everything look lush, vibrant, and exactly the size we needed. She has a real talent for solving problems and delivering arrangements that feel abundant without being over the top. Emily's work was beautiful and her willingness to find solutions instead of roadblocks made the whole process smooth. We'd absolutely recommend her to any couple looking for a florist who actually listens and delivers.”

They were amazing at their communication leading up to the event and delivered the bouquets promptly according to our schedule the day of the event. Their punctuality gave our models enough time to rehearse the runway with their florals. Aside from their great professionalism, Zombie Flowers is a super creative company. Sparks & Sand

Hi guys! Mekai here, owner + founder of Sparks + Sand floral design. Originally from Palm Springs, California and now in Raleigh for a couple years, S+S has brought me the most incredible opportunities to share in the joy + wonder florals can bring to every person, every event, every meaningful moment. I am so darn thankful I get to connect with so many unique people with visions I cannot believe I get to bring to the table. Thank you for supporting me, + allowing me the space to be a part of your most special celebrations. I cannot wait to connect with you!

“Mekai did the florals for my Feb 2023 wedding and I seriously cannot even begin to explain how amazing she was! Actually blew my expectations out of the water. When I saw what she had created the morning of our wedding she actually took my breath away. She took my vision I gave her and made something more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! I live in New York City and honestly, I was struggling for awhile to try to try to find a florist out of Palm Springs that just "gets it". Sometimes I find traditional florists to be a bit boring, stale, repetitive, or way over the top. The other florists out of palm springs felt a little too old school for me or were completely out of my budget. I really wanted something modern and artistic, yet playful, natural and fun. Mekai is a true artist! Not only is her work so beautiful, but she is also the sweetest person ever and a dream to work with! Super responsive and really takes the time to understand your vision. I know as a bride, it can feel a little risky to book a vendor with a smaller amount of reviews, but Mekai is so worth it! Mekai also has a lot lower minimums than a lot of other floral vendors in the area and is extremely affordable which I have never heard any of my friends who have gotten married say about their florals! Mekai's work is such a steal for the impact that she will make on your space and in all of your photos! Seriously run, don't walk, to book! I'm telling you, you will not regret it in the slightest.”

Grace & Blooms
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Starts at $2,500
  • Serves Maggie Valley, NC

Grace & Blooms began from a simple love for flowers and people. I’ve always been drawn to the way flowers can say something without words — how they show care, celebrate love, and make moments feel special. Creating wedding florals is something I truly love, and it’s never lost on me how meaningful it is to be trusted with such an important day. I don’t take that lightly. Every wedding I design is approached with intention and gratitude, with the hope that each couple feels cared for, supported, and excited throughout the process.

“Alexa was absolutely incredible, and we couldn’t have been happier to have her as our wedding florist! I truly don’t think people realize just how much having the right vendors can make a difference in your wedding day, and Alexa was one of those people who made ours that much more special. She went above and beyond for us, was so lovely to work with, and made sure no detail was overlooked. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she does and about making your day everything you dreamed it would be. We felt so lucky to have found her and trusted her with such an important part of our special day. If you’re looking for a florist who truly cares and goes the extra mile, Alexa is your girl! We cannot recommend her enough!”
