Cat made the short list immediately and then after meeting with her, getting to know how professionally structured her and her team are, it was a no brainer. Oh, not to mention her style of photo taking and editing is natural. Like us. If the grass is green and the sky is blue, that is how they should appear on the final product. I digress... It's not just about the business portion, but also the personal interaction. Our engagement shoot was so freeing. So much so that we all shared a drink together and took time to understand we are actually similar people with similar interests, not just a business transaction. I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley, another member of her team, as the second shooter for our wedding day and I can say without a doubt, that those things we enjoyed so much about the engagement session with Cat are also present with Ashley. I have been the photog or videographer when the groom is getting ready and I learned things from Ashley that I will use to make the next groom I work with feel comfortable and natural. When Cat arrived on our wedding day, rocking a sick blue jumper, ready for comfort and functionality, I was immediately at ease. This is a person that knows what she needs to do to be at her best and recognizing that allowed me to turn my vendor brain off and just enjoy every second of our special day. Lastly, the delivery process of sneak peeks, a surprise video from our final dance and blog post has been top notch and has given my wife and I the ability to relive so many moments together and with friends and family, even before the gallery is sent. Our interactions with those family and friends have warmed our hearts because their words about how amazing their time was at our wedding, gets backed up by those moments captured for a lifetime. After reading the different artist descriptions on the Darling and Dapper website, I knew Taylor Shira and Carolina Updegraff were going to be a perfect fit for what I was looking for on the day of the wedding! Taylor and Carolina exceeded my every expectation! What struck me most about Taylor was her ability to help create a calm, inviting atmosphere on the day of the wedding. She is such a sweet, energetic person with such a positive personality to boot. What struck me most about Carolina was her ability to recreate the exact makeup look from any inspiration picture you show her. “We chose DJ Karizma for our February wedding in Va Beach this year and first things first, his organization, communication and responsiveness were top tier. He had ceremony and reception worksheets, and song suggestions for us to review and complete which made it very easy to communicate all of our music preferences. He responded within a day or two to any questions that we had via email and text. We had a lot of expectations for our DJ such as the specific songs we chose for the ceremony, the grand entrances, reception and dance floor. We asked him to also add in some reggae vibes and all of his selections were a perfect fit for our guests. We needed his MC assistance with announcements for the audio guestbook and QR codes for the seating chart and disposable camera photo capture. He covered these announcements during cocktail hour as expected. He made sure all those that were giving a toast/speech were prepped and ready for their turn. He announced all of big moments such as the cake cutting, family dances, bouquet toss, garter toss..etc. He hosted our Photo Table Dash game and co-hosted our mini Newlywed game and his energy and enthusiasm were just what our celebration needed! We were impressed with him staying on top of everything we asked for. Our only disappointment was due to where the venue had the DJ set up (behind a curtain which obstructed his view) so our grand entrance music was cut short unexpectedly. We wish we would have communicated our expectation better with the venue as they were our day of coordinators and were supposed to be the DJ's "eyes." However, we would choose DJ Karizma again without hesitation for future events. Thank you so much DJ Karizma for making our wedding fun, hype and such a delight!!!!”
