While I absolutely love to capture the big, meaningful moments of the day, I'm equally drawn to the quiet in-between moments that often become the most treasured memories. My approach is designed to help you stay present with each other and your loved ones while I document your wedding day as it naturally unfolds. Of course, I'll provide guidance when needed, but my goal is never to pull you out of the experience—it's to preserve it.

At no point did I feel bombarded, as Sarah has a wonderful calmness, kindness and professionalism about her that allowed me and my wedding party to truly relax and enjoy the day. Sarah captured all the big and small moments, and I am thrilled with the results. “Natalie and Pedro are the absolute best!! Not only are they both so kind, friendly, and personable, but so professional, patient, and organized. From the start of the planning process, I felt at ease with Natalie. I appreciate the fast communication, along with how open and upfront she is about everything, I really didnt have to ask her any questions. I am not photogenic at all lol and was so nervous about taking photos, but they made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I appreciated the directions they gave and how my husband and I could be silly and have a fun time whiIe taking pictures. I highly recommend having both Natalie and Pedro, you can never go wrong with 2 photographers! I got my sneak peeks yesterday and I am in total awe of the photos, I literally cried at how stunning they are. I cannot wait to see them all. You want Natalie and Pedro to capture your special day. Thank you both SO much!! here are engagement and wedding photos.”

Weddings by Katherine Marchand
Rating: 5.0 (25 reviews)
  • Editorial style
  • Serves Rodeo, CA

I'm Katherine, a wedding photographer based in Oakland, CA. With over a decade of experience and features in Vogue, Brides, The New York Times, and more, I know how to create wedding photos that don’t just look stunning — they feel like you. No trendy filters, no forced poses, just authentic moments that reflect who you are. I believe the best moments aren’t staged. They unfold naturally, in the quiet glances, the belly laughs, and those unspoken connections shared with your loved ones. My goal is to capture those raw, in-between moments that truly make your wedding day yours!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Where to even begin! Investing in Katherine to do our wedding photos for our August 2021 wedding was the best decision we made, other than getting married! She had done a friends' wedding so I had started following her on instagram long before my husband and I got engaged. We were planning our wedding back west, and so we started looking at photographers back there but I just couldn't find anyone who measured up to Katherine. Listen--if you want "trendy" photos for instagram with lots of filters, orange skin tones, poses, etc--then Katherine isn't for you. But if you want photos that truly capture your day how it really was, then look no further. I spent years pouring over my parents' and grandparents' wedding albums wanting something that felt that classic and real. And real is exactly what Katherine does. She has this amazing ability to be everywhere and no where all at once. I have been in a lot of weddings, seen a lot of wedding albums, and I have never seen a photographer capture candids as well as she does--the photos feel like screenshots from a movie where we look happy and fabulous all of the time! She truly has a photojournalistic approach. She caught every teary hug, hand squeeze, and glance from across the room. And her ability to make every type of light work to her advantage (harsh mid-day, dark dance floor, etc) is truly incredible. And don't worry--she will also get all of those family photos that your parents want and do it in a painless, seamless way! While we were initially hesitant about the cost of hiring a photographer from NYC to shoot a wedding back west, her prices are MORE than fair for what you are getting! She even did a mini shoot with us the night before to get us comfortable in front of the camera and they are some of my favorite photos from the weekend. Also--she made everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable the day of. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her (I mean how could you not be? She shows up in a gucci suit with effortless cool girl energy and is like "let's do this!"), she managed wrangling our very large wedding party with ease and even got my grandma to smile in photos which is a big deal! We woke up the next day to about 15 sneak peak photos from the night before, and had our entire wedding album in 6 weeks! The hardest part is choosing which photos to print! There are just too many that we love. TLDR: Hire this girl, she is smart as a whip, reliable, talented, and a consummate professional!”

“Thomas is the best! He is unbelievably talented and his communication throughout the entire process was clear, professional, and reassuring, which made everything so smooth and stress-free. He captured every special moment beautifully and from all the perfect angles. The photos are stunning and feel so natural and timeless. We’re so grateful to have these amazing memories to look back on, all thanks to his talent and eye for detail. He also included an engagement shoot that we had a couple of weeks before the wedding and those pictures are just unbelievably beautiful! He will tell you which poses to do and guide you to make sure the pictures come out perfect and natural. The number of pictures that he delivered was insane, and they’re all amazing! He sent over some pictures the day after the wedding and sent the complete list of pictures just a week after the wedding, which is an insane turnaround! He also had a couple of small cameras lying around and gave them to bridesmaids to capture their perspectives of our wedding. Thomas was the perfect person for the job and I highly recommend him if you’re looking for the absolute best wedding photographer! Several of our family and friends told us he is the best photographer they have ever seen as they watched him sprint all over the venue throughout the night to capture every single moment of our magical evening. That’s enough of me talking, you can take a look at some of the pictures he captured, his work is the best I’ve ever seen and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him!”

Shawna GD Photography
Rating: 5.0 (17 reviews)
·Ratings include Zola and Google reviews
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,200
  • Serves Rodeo, CA

I photograph intimate weddings and elopements with intention, emotion, and a little bit of edge. My approach is simple: your photos should feel like you. Real, raw and timeless, not stiff or performative. I'm here to catch the unplanned magic and the editorial moments that make your story look and feel as fabulous as you do.

“I had the absolute privilege of having Shawna capture my engagement photos, and later, serve as my second shooter on my wedding day. I say “privilege” because I still can’t believe someone so kind, genuine, and sweet truly exists. When I first met Shawna and her husband Patrick for our engagement session, they made the entire experience so easy and fun, even though my husband and I are far from comfortable in front of a camera. They made the session completely about us, helping us feel relaxed and natural. The moment we finished, I knew there was no way I could imagine my wedding day without Shawna being a part of it. At the wedding, Shawna seamlessly collaborated with my main photographer. She was professional, detail-oriented, and fully committed to making sure our day was as perfect as it could be. But Shawna went beyond just photography, she truly got to know us as a couple, took the time to learn what mattered to us, and poured her passion not only into her work but into us as clients. On my wedding morning, I was having a really difficult time, but the second Shawna arrived, her smile and calming presence gave me comfort I can’t even put into words. She immediately asked, “How can I help?”… and she meant it. She jumped right in, kept me grounded, and reminded me to enjoy the moment. I will never regret choosing Shawna for my photos. Not only did I gain beautiful memories captured forever, but I also feel like I’ve gained a friend for life.”

I prioritize creating a relaxing atmosphere for my clients, the most natural and beautiful moments are captured. My photography reflects not only my vision but also my passion. I strive to provide all my clients with expert photography services and an exceptional experience.

Awarded Best of Zola
“We searched and spoke with many photographers because we had a clear vision for our elopement, and it was important that our photographer truly understood it. Once we found Kin Photography, we immediately knew we were in the best hands. His communication style was organized, attentive, down‑to‑earth, and never pushy. He’s just an all around good guy and it was a pleasure working with him at every step of the way. We eloped in the high desert of the Eastern Sierras and wanted someone who could showcase the beauty of the landscape, not just take hundreds of close‑ups of our faces. Kin captured every special moment of our elopement day with incredible efficiency and an eye for detail that far exceeded our expectations. He genuinely understood & was excited about our vision. As someone who often feels awkward in front of a camera, I worried that would show in our photos. Kin eased all of our nerves by offering gentle direction and incorporating fun, creative ideas beyond the typical wedding poses. His passion for his craft is clearly evident, and it shines through in the quality of his work. The turnaround time for our photos was fast. When I saw our wedding photos online, I was speechless. They were stunningly beautiful. Our only challenge now is choosing which photos to print and display because there are so many gorgeous ones to pick from. I’m not sure how we are going to decide. Both sides of our family said the same thing. But that’s a good problem to have! Kin truly went above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend him to any couple planning their wedding and especially recommend him for elopement couples. We couldn’t be happier with the service and product Kin photography provided. If we ever need a photographer again, there’s no question, we would certainly call Kin.”

Hey, I'm Marisa! I work with couples to help capture their dream wedding day! Most days you can find me drinking coffee in front of my computer editing the day away. If I’m not home in the SF Bay Area, I’m most likely in the Sierras or at a session off the grid. In my free time you can find me drinking wine with friends, maybe on a run, laying around with my dog, near a lake or finding the best tacos.

“We could not imagine working with any other photographer for our wedding! From our first video meeting to touch base, to our engagement shoot, and ultimately our wedding day, Marisa collaborated with us and other vendors with so much grace and a great sense of humor. She communicates clearly and punctually. We were particularly impressed with how she was able to wrangle our large families and get group photos together with confidence, but also captured the small, intimate moments so perfectly. We will forever cherish the photos that perfectly encapsulate the best day of our lives. Thank you so much, Marisa!”

I’m Cherlyn (rhymes with Berlin). So nice to e-meet you! If we met in person and it wasn’t during a pandemic- I would probably hug you! I’m an introvert-extrovert and tend to ramble too much when I get nervous. In emails - I tend to use exclamation points a lot!! (and will agonize over my drafts of emails before sending them because they probably have one too many!!) My aim as your photographer is to provide a memorable experience where you two feel comfortable, taken care of, and get to fully enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with all your guests & loved ones - whether they be in real life or via livestream!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Cherlyn was a dream photographer for my small Santa Clara wedding held at the newly renovated chapel at the clerk-recorder's office. She had experience photographing there before, which was a major reason why I picked her to document my special day, in addition to her documentary-style photography which suited my shy spouse. I wanted someone who would be able to take formal photographs in addition to candids for the courthouse wedding and Chinese dinner to follow, and she more than understood the assignment. She took the time to scope out scenic areas near the office and even stayed for the dinner afterwards. She was a wonderful conversationalist and helped everyone feel at ease. I really treasure all the moments she was able to capture for us.”

I believe love is love and happily photograph couples of all backgrounds, orientations, religions and gender expressions. I aim to create authentic and emotive images for my clients and edit true to color so the work will be timeless. My personality is friendly and warm, which helps make my couples feel at ease and open up in front of the camera. I donate $100 from every wedding day package to a non profit organization (either the ACLU, End the Backlog or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation) because I believe paying it forward in honor of love is an excellent first step into marriage.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Jenna was recommended to us by another photographer and it was such a pleasure to work with her! We greatly appreciated how much she wanted to know us and our personalities in advance of our wedding day. We ended every zoom call or email exchange feeling confident in our decision to work with her. The weather on our wedding day wasn’t very cooperative, but Jenna and team were on the lookout for any break in the rain so that we could go up to the roof and get a few pictures. And she totally nailed them—they are some of our favorite pictures from the day. Jenna and team made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and also captured some incredible candids. If you’re looking for a fun, positive, and easy-to-work with photographer—Jenna is the right pick!”

I'm Hannah, a full time wedding and portrait photographer in Livermore, California. To me, photography is so much more than just hiring another vendor. And that's why you should choose someone you truly love to work with! I believe the real magic happens during the in-between moments – a secret smile shared by the parents; a tearful hug with the maid of honor; a quirky moment with the best man. These memories are far more precious than any staged photo, and these are the memories I want to capture for you on your big day.

Awarded Best of Zola
“I cannot say enough about how happy we are we hired Hannah as our wedding photographer! Once I saw her work I knew we had to work with her immediately, specifically for the sunset photos that looked right out of a bridal magazine! I immediately reached out to Hannah and pretty much the rest is history! Our phone call to gauge if we would be a good fit was filled with laughs and it just felt so natural! She was extremely communicative and easy to work with which helped with all my wedding planning anxieties tremendously. The engagement shots with her was where we first got to meet and it felt like meeting a true friend. She had us laughing non-stop and made us feel truly comfortable. We felt awkward on our drive over, having never done professional photos before, but she immediately put us at ease! On the day of the wedding Hannah and her team were so kind, so efficient, and so professional! We had a large (read here rowdy) wedding party and some difficult family dynamics that they expertly navigated. Their team made sure everyone just truly was themselves and had fun! The pictures showed just how comfortable and happy everyone was in her presence. The photos truly captured the spirit of our big day and transport us right back there every time we look through them. Our family and friends we have shared the photos with are absolutely amazed and just how well they turned out and how much they feel like our big day did. Photography lives in the present and life is fast and fleeting. We want to remember what life we do have while we're here, evolving and growing. That’s why we’re always taking selfies, right? Like, I was here! Weddings are an emotional experience, a record of moments, journeys, visions and feelings, expressed in millions of unique byproducts. I'm the storyteller who gets the privilege of recording all of it coming together on one amazing, beautiful day.

“I absolutely love working with Megan! Megan is a professional who is a joy to work with-reliable, talented, and fun. I have used her work to support social media for my small business, as well as for personal requests, such as real estate listing photos, family photos, and flower photography. The beautiful images are easy to transfer to different software programs. The crisp definition captured in the photographs displays flawlessly in print. Megan is multifaceted and a total asset to any photography project.”

I am an elopement and wedding photographer based in Northern California, who shoots for the fun quirky weirdos who are unabashedly themselves. I capture the perfection that you are while having a laugh and (almost assuredly) crying along while you read your vows. My name is Katelyn and I want to meet you!

“Katelyn photographed our engagement session and wedding day and I can't recommend her enough. My husband and I are not pros in front of the camera and she put us at ease from the jump. She approaches each session with a calm and collaborative energy that yields relaxed and natural photos. She was able to capture our day so authentically. Not only is she excellent on wedding day but she's responsive and organized leading up to it. She was diligent on creating and executing a shotlist and even added in some family portrait combinations that I missed on the first round. Her thoughtful process makes you feel like a priority and I knew my vision was safe in her hands. Her work is phenomenal and she's an absolute pleasure to work with.”

Hi, I’m Hayden! With over 300 weddings captured, I take a journalistic approach to photography, documenting authentic moments as they naturally unfold. I shoot with both film and digital to create timeless, heartfelt images that tell your unique love story. With a go-with-the-flow mentality, I will capture moments as they come and turn them into beautiful memories.

“Words cannot explain how fantastic Hayden is! His professionalism, positive attitude, and work blew me away! He took wedding photos for me and my husband. The photographer came recommended by our wedding venue, and everything turned out perfect. Our photography package included 2 locations prior to the ceremony/reception venue. Hayden met us at our house to take photos of us getting ready. I did not prepare a list of specific photos I wanted, but Hayden was prepared. He got all the “standard” photos (getting dressed, getting hair/makeup, etc), giving me direction (which I needed as I can be awkward and camera shy). But he was also so excited to try some different shots based on the set up of our housing. We stepped outside to take first look photos… and it was cold, rainy, and windy. Hayden did not bat at eye! He was such a good sport about being in the horrible weather. Then he met us at another location to take more photos in the cold rain and wind. Finally, we made it to the venue. I loved that some photos were candidate, that I was given direction for some photos, and that I was able to bring some ideas that were executed perfectly! He was flexible and accommodating and willing to take creative photos! The photos came out amazing! I would not change a thing!”

“J. Lee Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding day! The quirky and fun communication style made her super easy to talk to, and we felt at ease with her from the start. Not only did she include our engagement photos, but captured our wedding day beautifully as well. We received so many gorgeous photos back that we could hardly choose which ones to post - the value was incredible for the quality of the work. She was a pleasure to have around, and we even spotted her out on the dance floor with us, capturing all the fun moments. The guests and I loved having her there to document our special day. We are thrilled with the results and would highly recommend J. Lee Photography to any couple looking for a talented, personable photographer.”

My name is Connie and I have been shooting weddings and portraits for over 15years. The goal for me is to give my client an heirloom of their wedding day to pass down to generations to come. As a young kid, I remember staring at my parents black and white wedding photos for a long time. It captivated me. I am very lucky to have those memories and that is what I want for my clients. I love capturing beautiful imagery through posing, beautiful light and when there isn't light, I like to create it. I can be a goof ball capturing the unexpected filled laughter. Come look at my work, and hopefully we can connect.

“Connie was so awesome to work with! Leading up to the wedding she was easy to communicate with and always responded to my emails quickly. When my wedding day rolled around she was at the venue on time and got to work. She was patient with everything going on, she had an assistant as well that was great! I told Connie that I was worried about taking pictures because I never considered myself photogenic, she told me not to worry. She did a great job! The pictures turned out beautiful! I love them! Now the hard part is choosing which ones to print.”

Hi, I’m Briana! I was born and raised in The Northern Chicago Suburbs, and now reside in The San Fransisco Bay Area. I’ve been behind the camera for over 10 years, capturing everything from everyday moments to life’s biggest milestones. When I’m not photographing, I’m a gymnastics coach, which means I spend a lot of time encouraging little ones, celebrating small wins, and keeping things fun and positive. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hanging out with my friends, playing with my cats Lana, Levi, and Zoe, checking out a good brewery, or just enjoying my quiet time.

“We are beyond thrilled with our engagement photos! Briana was amazing at making us feel comfortable and relaxed, which made for beautiful photos. Every photo was a perfect reflection of our love and personalities. The attention to detail and creativity was outstanding. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and how she helped our vision become reality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for professional, stunning engagement photos!"”
