    Thank you, Paul and the Golden Bells!

    This review is long overdue (newlywed life got the best of us), but it absolutely needed to be said. From our very first meeting with Paul, through our planning sessions, to the wedding weekend and the day itself, every single interaction with him was wonderful. He was responsive, easy to work with, and clearly cared about getting things right for us. Paul helped us narrow down our ceremony selections, which made a big decision feel easy. Having AJ play guitar during the ceremony turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the day. More than one musician in our family came up to tell us what a GREAT guitarist he is, and then he absolutely ripped on the dance floor later that night. The whole band is incredibly talented, and they kept the energy high all evening. Paul also handled sound coordination for the entire wedding day. He took full ownership of it, so it was never something we had to think about, which is exactly what you want on a day when there’s already so much going on. We can’t thank you all enough. If you’re looking for a band for your wedding, the Golden Bells are the right choice.

    The best!!

    Booking Golden Bell was hands-down one of our best wedding decisions! Marlon made every stage easy - planning, day-of setup, and above all the music itself, which was fantastic. The band's energy was amazing and our guests are still talking about it. Golden Bell was easy, fun, and flexible to work with & they provided an amazing experience - we can't recommend them enough!!

    Human Person

    We hired Golden Bell Music for our wedding and could not have been happier with our choice. From the first conversation through the big day, they stayed in touch with us regularly and asked detailed questions about what we wanted—they even made a list of songs to avoid and ones we absolutely had to hear. On the day of our wedding, they nailed it. They kept the energy up from the ceremony through cocktail hour and onto the dance floor, where guests literally did not stop dancing. What impressed us most was how they balanced being true professionals while also keeping the vibe celebratory and fun. Their musicianship is top-notch, and they genuinely seemed to care about making our day special. We'd recommend Golden Bell Music to anyone looking for a band that will get their guests moving and create memories that last.

    Amazing!

    We absolutely loved have golden bell at our wedding and our guests had blast with the 3 piece live ensemble. They were super easy to work with and were so glad we chose them for our wedding. Lis was an awesome lead and brought the energy!

    Marlon is the MAN!

    Marlon CRUSHED it!! He was so easy to work with and such an amazing part of our celebration. We were having a tough time deciding between a DJ and a band, and his DJ/musician setup ended up being the absolute perfect combination! From going through our questionnaire, to talking through logistics, to the ceremony and reception itself, Marlon's organization, professionalism, calm energy, and most importantly, the FUN he brings were beyond anything we could have asked for. The dance floor was packed all night, and he did an amazing job managing the Hora, all of our special dances, and keeping the energy going throughout the night. Anyone would be lucky to have Marlon be part of their wedding. We are SO grateful and truly couldn't recommend him more!!

Yes, we’re comfortable MCing and making announcements as needed. By design, our MC style is minimal and not performative – you won’t see us jumping on the microphone to crack jokes or hype up the crowd during the dance party. Instead of yelling at folks to jump up and down, we prefer to inject energy into the performance with our instruments.
We currently have crews in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Denver. Additionally, we’re happy to travel and perform at destination events if our travel time and flights/accommodation are covered. We’ve traveled to NYC, the Pacific Northwest Area, Hawaii, Mexico and even Thailand for events, so let us know if you’re interested in booking us outside our home areas.
We love that you’re interested in bringing live music into your event, but we no longer staff our musicians with outside DJs. We’ve learned the hard way that staffing a great horn player with even a great outside DJ leads to mixed experiences. All of the DJs in our crew are also musicians, and have a deep understanding of how the interplay between horns and the DJ sets work together. This is something that can take years to a lifetime to master.
These performances are always anchored on a DJ set that keeps the party going from start to finish and offers us all the flexibility that comes with DJing. We’re able to play any music you can dream up, vs. being stuck to a particular repertoire of songs. The live horns, drums and guitar are additive to the DJ set, play in parallel, and breathe life into the music in a way that only live music can. Horns and guitar will layer on top of the tracks and be featured for high-energy solo moments, and drums act like the glue between the tracks and live music.
All our wedding packages come with at least one sound system setup with more available for an additional fee, and we’re able to provide wireless microphones for the ceremonies, speeches and toasts, etc. Background music playlists are also provided for non-performance times (cocktail hours, dinners, etc.) For other private event and corporate event packages, sound systems can also be provided for an additional fee if required.
Golden Bell is set up as a collective of full-time, touring musicians who tour the world and play on some of the biggest stages, from Coachella and Red Rocks Amphitheater to Bonnaroo and so many more. When you book us you’re booking the collective, and not any individual artists. We’re NOT a booking agency that will farm out inquiries to musicians we don’t know, and those in our crew are family – we practice routines together, share a music library and work hard to ensure the experience is consistently amazing between each of our events, regardless of who is assigned.
We pride ourselves on our flexibility to incorporate any genre of music. When left to our own devices, we’d tend to play a healthy mix of funk, soul, R&B and disco remixes, but every one of our events is crafted around our clients’ preferences and desires. As part of our process, we’ll send our clients a music questionnaire to submit a playlist they’ve put together for us to review. The questionnaire also includes a section for “must plays” and “do-not-plays”, which we pay close attention to. Once we’ve gathered all these, we spend a great deal of time incorporating the new music alongside our own to put together a live set!
