About The Barnstorm

The Barnstorm

Booking Manager

The Barnstorm is an NYC-based party rock wedding band, best known for their electric and engaging dance party receptions. It's been said they're "not a real wedding band," but rather "an incredibly fun and engaging band that just happens to absolutely rock weddings!" Whether it's today's hits, top 40, hip hop, classic rock, Motown, and all things in between, The Barnstorm can do it all - putting their own spin on everything they do.

Along with providing emcee services, The Barnstorm is also ready, willing, & able to handle your ceremony music as well as cocktail hour music, if needed. Aside from their on-stage chemistry and ability to get any crowd on the dance floor, one thing that sets The Barnstorm apart is their immersive light show production. You would honestly think you're at a legit live concert at Madison Square Garden. If you want the most epic dance party wedding reception... If you want to have your family and guests on the dance floor all night long... If you want a band that's always going to go that extra mile for you... The Barnstorm is your band.

    BEST BAND EVER!!!

The Barnstorm was without question the best decision we made for our wedding. At first, we had skepticism reading similar reviews because a band is just a band, right? Wrong. They are truly performers in every respect. Having the Barnstorm at our wedding was like having our wedding at a literal concert, but where only our favorite music was played and the entire crowd was our closest friends and family. They kept the energy and crowd jumping until the final moments of our reception, which is exactly what we had hoped and asked for. Their ability to balance new songs with older hits kept guests of all ages rushing to the dance floor all evening. Even two months later, we still have guests telling us how our band was the best they’d ever seen and asking where they can see the Barnstorm perform live. And that’s just our experience on the wedding day. Well before the wedding, the band took considerable time to meet with us and understand our vision for the big day. They learned multiple new songs for us, even one that was off the beaten path, and got genuinely excited about our niche requests (like playing Christmas music in August). They were true “yes” (and hype) men for us throughout the entire process, which brought us great comfort during the stressful planning stages. All to say, if you are thinking about choosing the Barnstorm for your wedding, we could not recommend anymore strongly that you do. You’ll have zero regrets.

    BEST BAND EVER

The Barnstorm was without a doubt the most incredible part of our wedding! When we started the wedding process, we knew one thing for sure…we wanted an electric party. The Barnstorm delivered and some! From the moment we met The Barnstorm they treated us like family. We went to many showcases and each show became better and better. Seeing past brides and grooms in attendance at each showcase just proved how amazing The Barnstorm is. There are groupies upon groupies which we are proudly a part of now! Brooks and the team were amazing to work with us from the start. They understood our vision and brought it to life better than we could ever dream of! Our wedding started with the best ceremony, with the music paving the way for an evening of fun to come. Our cocktail hour was lively with great covers which transitioned into the most epic party of our lives! From the moment our reception started the vibes were high! The Barnstorm knows how to read the room, understand the vibe and bring the party. Our wedding had 180 guests and every single person told us that they have never seen a band like this. One of our friends said “I was at a full on concert, where Melissa and Dylan happened to get married!” The compliments from our guests were they have never been to a wedding where they have not sat down once. The Barnstorm understood our vision and delivered! Not only was September 5th the best night of our lives, we feel that we gained an incredible group of friends with The Barnstorm! They are the most professional, nice, fun, and kind humans around. We look forward to many more celebrations to come with The Barnstorm! We could not recommend them enough. If you are searching for the most epic party of your life…look no further and hire The Barnstorm!

    Barnstorm Brings the Party

My wife and I first saw The Barnstorm at one of their showcases, and we walked out saying, "If we can get this band for our wedding, we're doing it." They completely lived up to every expectation. We hired them for everything: an acoustic duo for the ceremony, a jazz trio during cocktail hour, and the full band for the reception. Every group was outstanding. They are world class musicians with an incredible amount of range. They learned a niche Taylor Swift song for our ceremony, played a Steely Dan request for my dad, did a TI/Cranberries mash-up upon request… and everything in between. Throughout the night it felt like they were playing our wedding, not just another wedding. The biggest thing that sets them apart is how well they read a room. Our wedding happened to be on the same night the Knicks clinched the NBA Championship, and we honestly wondered if we'd lose people to the TVs or their phones. Instead, our 150-person dance floor stayed packed all night. That's about as strong an endorsement as I can give. The Barnstorm also brings so much more than just great music. Their lighting completely transformed the room, and having their own photographer capturing the dance floor gave us some of our favorite photos from the reception. It's clear they've thought through every part of what makes a wedding feel fun. Planning was very easy. Cam and Brooks were fantastic to work with from start to finish, JR was an excellent emcee who kept everything moving without ever making himself the center of attention, and Steven absolutely stole the show on the sax. Honestly, every member of the band was fantastic. They're not cheap, but after seeing everything they bring, I'd say they were worth every dollar. Between the ceremony music, cocktail hour, reception, lighting, photography, and the energy they brought from the first song to the last, they delivered on every promise. The best compliment we can give is that people kept coming up to us all night to ask about the band. They weren't just saying, "Great band" to be polite. They were genuinely blown away, and weeks later people are still talking about them. If you're looking for a band that can play just about anything, keep the dance floor full, and make your wedding feel like your wedding, hire The Barnstorm. We'd make the same decision again in a heartbeat.

Worth Flying Across the Country For

We wanted the final night of our wedding to be epic. But after 3.5 days of events, we knew our guests would be running low on energy. That's why we flew Barnstorm out from the east coast to Big Sky: they were the only band we trusted to deliver! They exceeded what we expected. Every guest brought them up unprompted for weeks afterward. A number of our guests ended up on the same flight back to Newark the next morning as the band, and they were treated like celebrities the entire way home. That's the impression they left. Book them.

    Barnstorm @ The McKenna Wedding

The Barnstorm was the highlight of our wedding and the easiest decision we made! They created a romantic ceremony performance, a lively cocktail hour, and an absolutely electric reception. Our guests were literally calling it a concert! Beyond their incredible talent, their production and professionalism are unmatched. Working with Brooks leading up to the wedding was seamless—he was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. They brought the energy and are far from your typical wedding band. We couldn’t recommend them enough!

As a novelty, boutique, one-band operation, The Barnstorm plays only ~20 or so weddings per year (vs the 50+ weddings most other wedding bands play). We do this in order to better serve our clients with a higher degree of "attention to detail" - an attention to detail you 100% will not get with any other band. Our online reviews speak to this - many times citing The Barnstorm as best their vendor.
There are 9 core band members - 4 male vocalists/party-throwers up front (2 of whom are guitarists), 1 female vocalist, drums, bass, keys, & saxophone. Upon request, we are able to add an additional 2x horns (trumpet + trombone) and/or an electric violinist.
We play everything under the sun. We'll go from Stevie Wonder to Miley Cyrus to Temptations to Justin Timberlake to Bruce Springsteen to The Killers to Journey to Jay Z. If it gets the crowd dancing, then it's our style.
We have more than a decade's worth of education on "how to read a crowd." That means not just knowing how to KEEP an already eager crowd on the dance floor, but also what song it will take to get old Uncle Jimmy out of his chair and ONTO the dance floor. And let's be honest... it's hard for someone to feel self conscious when they see a bunch of grown adults acting a fool on stage, right?
We think we clean up pretty nicely for our wedding clients. We typically wear black dress pants, white button down shirts, and matching dinner jackets. Check out our Instagram (@TheBarnstorm) for a good idea of what we look like at weddings. Of course, if you have a theme that you'd like the band to participate in, we will make those accommodations.
We play up to 3 hours of LIVE music. If you're thinking, "Wait a minute, my reception is 5 hours long." Don't worry! Most receptions we play are 4-5 hours long. HOWEVER, we are not playing the entire time. Having LIVE music during dinner creates a bit of confusion - "Should we be eating?? Or should we be dancing??" etc. We work with you and your coordinator to ensure we build the perfect timeline for your day.
We are based in NYC, & thus we typically play all over the Tri-State Region - NYC, New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, etc.. We are also positioned to fly anywhere in the world to make your destination wedding one to remember. We've played weddings in other countries such as Greece, Ireland, and even Italy (TWICE!). Simply put, if travel expenses are covered, we'll play on the Moon!
We have a huge laundry list of songs that we can pull from in a moment's notice, but we try to NOT play from a setlist at weddings, as we try to stay as nimble as possible and have the agility to play to the dance floor at all times. On this same note, we DO provide our clients with our Master Song List so they can peruse, note some "MUST PLAYS," and more importantly, some "MUST NOT PLAYS."
Yes! We'll work hand-in-hand with you and your wedding coordinator to ensure we're "corralling" your guests and hitting all the important notes - introducing the couple & wedding party, announcing speeches/toasts, cake cutting, sparkler send-off, etc.
Typically ~20. We don't spread ourselves too thin so we can provide our clients with the most unique experience for their big day. We treat each and every wedding as if it's our own.
Yes! We play monthly showcases and encourage couples and their friends/family to come and see what The Barnstorm is all about. We do "let loose" more as it's at a bar and we have to walk the fine line of "rockin' bar band to get the crowd drinking" vs "buttoned-up wedding band." Either way, The Barnstorm's periodic showcases are a raucous good time and we suggest that you neatly press your party pants.
Absolutely. If you have any songs that are special to you, and we don't currently play them (we're thinking your first dance and parent dance songs), we'll learn them for you - no problem. We just ask that you let us know with at least a few weeks' notice so we can learn and rehearse them.
Yes! This is an area The Barnstorm shines (literally). We have a 5-man production team our state of the art Sound and Lighting Rig. We've invested heavily in this area in order to bring the absolute best product to our clients. Just like weddings, no two VENUES are alike, and it's through that lens for which we design the production at each gig. Check out our Instagram or YouTube for examples of this, or reach out if you'd like to see additional examples.
No. Simply put, some venues allow it, and some don't. We don't require a stage, but we will say that it does add a nice element of "live concert" to the reception.
In order to put a hard hold on a date, we require a signed contract and a 20% deposit. The 80% balance is not due until the week of the wedding.
