The Dapper Gents
The Dapper Gents are a folk-rock band from Portland, ME, are known for their eclectic mix of popular hits and deeper cuts, all enriched with vibrant cello solos. Available as a versatile duo, quartet, or DJ, they are the perfect choice for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, and private parties. Serving New England and beyond. The current lineup features Jacob McCurdy on vocals and guitar, Danny Rand on cello, Stu Gurley on upright bass, and Jonathan Clement on drums and vocals. They bring a unique twist to pop, rock, and folk hits from artists such as Mumford and Sons, The Pixies, The Lumineers, and Alabama Shakes.
We love playing the songs that we play, the fact that we don't play the same old song that you'd hear at every other wedding, your night will be unforgettable. Also, you've probably never heard a cello played the way that Danny Rand shreds. Using guitar FX pedals, he can sound like a lead guitar, synth, bass or just a regular old cello.

The Dapper Gents were phenomenal and absolutely made our wedding as perfect and magical as it could have been. From giving us the cinematic, instrumental processional of our dreams, to MCing the evening, and learning songs for our parent dances and first dance, to keeping the party going all night — they were THE BEST. We had several guests tell us our wedding was the best they’d ever been to, and we think The Gents are a large part of that. They were early, extremely communicative throughout the whole process, fun, and engaging. Their talent is next level and we adore them as people too! They got everyone on the dance floor; even our older relatives were up dancing. You absolutely have to book The Dapper Gents if you’re looking for the best live music in New England. You won’t regret it. We can’t thank them enough for being such a perfect addition to our day! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Wedding Music
The Dapper Gents were an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding! From our first interaction, their communication was friendly, efficient, and they were always easy to reach. On the day of, their live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour set the perfect tone, and the transition to DJ for the reception was seamless. The music and atmosphere they created kept our guests dancing all night long. We couldn't have asked for a better musical experience to celebrate our special day. Best In The Biz

Great wedding band!
It was a pleasure to work with the Dapper Gents for our wedding. We really loved their repertoire and they did a great job adding some additional instrumentals for our first dance. They kept the dance floor moving the whole night! I would definitely recommend them for a friend's wedding.
