    Working with Anika was a dream!

    I worked with Anika on a wedding party dance and a family dance for a Sangeet, and it was a fantastic experience on both counts! She put a lot of effort into getting to know each group of people, which she then translated into choreography that fit our personalities, skill level and the meaning of the music. She gave excellent recommendations on the number and length of rehearsals, and when we joined each rehearsal, her warmth instantly put our group at ease. Her planning made dances that looked fast-paced and complex into something that people at every skill level could learn in stages. I particularly appreciated her flexibility. Anika created new rehearsal times when we needed extra practice, helped us think about how to block each dance, made changes to the music pace when we requested them and communicated with the DJ on our behalf. We’d absolutely work with Anika again!

    Sangeet planner for sister of the bride

    Working with AR First Dance & Sangeet Choreography was such a great experience from start to finish. Anika was always available for both virtual and in-person practices leading up to our Sangeet day, and she kept us updated throughout the entire process. She customized the songs and routines to match what we wanted and tailored the choreography to fit everyone's skill level, from experienced dancers to complete beginners. What impressed us most was how she drilled us until the dances were perfect and somehow got our whole group to an equal level—that took real skill. The videos she provided had clear explanations that made it easy for anyone to follow along and practice on their own.     Wonderful and Fun!

    Anika was wonderful to work with - personable, detailed, and helpful! She built out beautiful choreos for my husband and I and her instruction was clear enough that even the inexperienced among us were able to do a great job. Our sangeet went so well. Five stars for sure! Super grateful to her!

    The most adaptive instructor!

    Anika is a fantastic choreographer, able to seamlessly tailor her choreography to experienced dancers and brand new ones alike. And her experience with both Indian and Latin dance styles make her particularly skilled at creating fun and unique routines. Where she shines, though, is in teaching! I've gotten to learn from her in-person and remotely (through pre-recorded videos). Her videos are thorough and made dances easy to learn at my own pace. In-person, she was SO patient teaching a rowdy group of bridesmaids with varied skill levels, and still made learning and performance a blast and (relatively) stress-free. I did not think I had the talent or enthusiasm for partnered dancing, but Anika's guidance and intuitive bachata choreography made me feel so comfy. Thanks, Anika!
