    They Offered me 45$ for a 1.9g 10 kt gold peice , I felt it was a really low offer like not even scrap pricing .. I don’t like to get juiced for trying to sell my jewelry it seemed unfair to me so I did not accept the offer. Cool store though I suppose. A bit pricey.

    Ryan, Thanks for your note and we're sorry you felt that the offer was unfair. We are a retail jeweler and buying scrap gold is primarily a courtesy offered to customers rather than our primary business. A few thoughts on selling scrap gold that may be helpful... The "spot price" you can find online for selling gold doesn't account for refiner fees, volume processing costs, shipping fees, insurance, or holding costs. Since we buy gold in very small volumes, we must hold it until there is enough volume to make it worthwhile to send it to a refiner where processing fees apply and are largely based on volume. Even then, we don't get the same pricing that high-volume dealers get. In your case at today's gold price, we would receive about $48.43 after processing fees. Several months from now, when we had enough volume to offset some of the processing fees, we could get more, but we are also assuming the risk that the price of gold could drop between now and then. We always want what's best for our customers. I'd suggest you try a couple other jewelers or pawn shops. Every business has different models and policies so you may get a better offer. There are online dealers, but be careful. Some are not very reputable and while they may offer more up front, you are assuming higher risk from things like items being lost during shipping or hidden fees/costs that don't become apparent until you receive the final payment.
