About Silver Sage Photography
Kayla Mehlhoff
From small adventurous elopements to large celebrations, I'm here for it! I have been doing photography for six years and branched into weddings in 2019. I have loved every minute of it since! I'm a one-woman show, but I'm not afraid to ask for help from a friend if I'm in need of a second shooter or assistant to make sure your big day goes smoothly! Having grown up overseas I love to travel for my photography, but will always have a deep love for capturing love stories in my home state of Montana.
I believe each wedding is unique- from the time of year, location, color palette, and personalities of the bride and groom, I aim to capture your day in a way that's uniquely you! I am a go-with-the-flow kind of person. I will sit down with you and go over your photo check-list for the big day (about a month in advance) so that I know how to guide the schedule day-of, but I'm not here to stress you or our family out when you're meant to enjoy! Don't you worry, I'll be there to capture everything from the big I-do to the intimate moments in-between.

Couldn’t Have Asked for a Better Photographer
Every time I look through our wedding photos, I’m reminded of how thankful I am that we chose Kayla to capture our day. Even after all this time, I still find myself looking through our wedding photos and smiling. Kayla captured our wedding day so beautifully, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Kayla is a good friend of ours, but we didn’t choose her just because of that. We chose her because we knew how incredibly talented she is, and there wasn’t anyone else we trusted more to capture one of the most important days of our lives. From the gorgeous lighting to the candid moments and all the little details, every photo feels timeless. Her talent and attention to detail shine through in every photo, and her editing style is timeless, which makes me love these photos just as much today as I did when we first received them. Looking back through our gallery brings us right back to our wedding day, and that’s such an incredible gift to have. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and somehow captured not just what our wedding looked like, but what it felt like. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about preserving your memories, I can’t recommend her enough. Easy and Fun
Working with Kayla was such an easy and fun experience from start to finish. She delivered our photos in a timely manner, and they turned out beautifully! She was also incredibly flexible and able to improvise when our photo timeline went completely out the window. One thing that really stood out was her attention to detail and her creativity. She had so many great ideas for poses and locations that made our photos feel natural, unique, and truly captured our personalities. It was clear that she puts a lot of thought into every shot. As someone who naturally has a pretty serious RBF face, I really appreciated how Kayla would subtly remind me to smile without making it feel awkward. Even on one of the hottest days in July, she kept everything feeling relaxed and enjoyable. I highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a talented, professional photographer who is creative, attentive to detail, and makes the entire experience stress-free and fun!!

We may be a little biased because she’s a really good friend of ours, but we can honestly say Kayla is an incredibly talented photographer. Perfectly Captured Paradise
Silver Sage Photography has been an absolute dream to work with from regular couple photos, to engagement and wedding photos, Kayla is the girl you NEED! The quality of her work was truly exquisite, capturing the romance and thoughtfulness of our special day in the most beautiful way. Kayla was there for us 100% throughout the entire day, ensuring she didn't miss a single moment - from the quick, fleeting moments to the big, important ones. I had gotten a noticeable sunburn the day before and she did an amazing job editing to minimize the noticeability of the burn. When my wedding party didn't show up to help me get into my dress, Kayla was there to lend a hand, going above and beyond to make sure I felt supported and looked my best. Kayla did a wonderful job both for our engagement photos and our wedding. She took the time to really work with us on poses and she made sure we were comfortable always. She was also very professional and she made sure to capture all of the moments we asked for as well. She was also willing to take suggestions from us which really made us feel valued and that she cared for what we really wanted too. She was also very flexible about locations and she knows a lot of great spaces too!
