They made wedding planning fun!
Kirin & Heidi stood out from the many wedding coordinators I considered because they were the only ones who got me really excited to plan my wedding. I was anxious about planning a 5-day destination wedding that was 4 hours away from where I lived. A wedding where all 50 of my guests were flying and driving from out of town. But Kirin & Heidi's expertise, organization, knowledge of the area, and overall excited energy helped me through a very long year of planning. They were responsive to all my emails, and from the second I booked them they took the initiative to schedule meetings with my venue and vendors. We did video calls for things I could not be in person for and relied on their eyes and taste to help me select things. Despite the distance, it was easy to connect and sync. On wedding day, we simply got to relax and enjoy. It was clear that Kirin & Heidi had my back. Despite my vague, minimal instructions, they did an absolutely beautiful job setting up the ceremony and reception area. If I needed or wanted anything, I only had to say it once and it simply happened. They were SO sweet to our family and guests. When you have a small wedding like we did, the presence of the people who are working at the wedding can be felt. And they fit in as if they were part of the family. Kirin & Heidi - thank you for turning our abstract ideas into a beautiful reality. You helped me make a meaningful day something truly special. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! All around amazing!
I can’t say enough about how great Black Orchid is for event service and catering. I had them cater my cocktail hour and heard endless compliments about how great the appetizers were, and they really were! I was so glad one of the awesome servers came and brought my husband and I a few servings, which was so thoughtful! They then helped service our reception with food we ordered from 12 Bones, which was excellent as well. We felt so cared for, having food brought to us and asking how we were doing throughout our wedding. I spoke a lot with Heidi before our event and she was an absolute joy to communicate with. In fact, she helped me figure out pretty much everything we needed for the cocktail hour and reception. Anything she recommended I immediately clicked add to cart and trusted her advice wholeheartedly, and I’m so glad I did. Everything was amazing and exactly what I hoped for.

STOP LOOKING! THIS IS THE ONE!
If you're reading this and trying to decide on bar services or staffing for your event, STOP LOOKING! THIS IS THE ONE! Heidi and Tristen are the most wonderful, creative, and kind people and they make delicious drinks to boot! After finding Black Orchid on our wedding planner's vendor shortlist, I am so, so happy we chose Black Orchid for our wedding. Even before we signed a contract, Heidi was so helpful in sharing experience and industry knowledge - my partner has worked in the restaurant industry and has been an amateur cocktail connoisseur since COVID times, and he felt so comfortable in their first meeting that we booked them immediately. Heidi was enthusiastic about planning our signature cocktails alongside us - even making a black walnut syrup from her own tree to use in our old-fashioned AND juicing carrots for my gin cocktail!! Helene hit a month before our scheduled wedding date, and (second to our venue - s/o Twisty Maple!!) Black Orchid was the vendor we knew we couldn't move forward without. Luckily, after communication was re-established, Heidi was flexible and we worked with her to reschedule. Once our second date got closer, my partner and I visited WNC to get back into the wedding spirit and Heidi and Tristen *came to our AirBnB* to sample our signature cocktails. They became fast friends and we chatted for hours! On our wedding day, it felt so special to have both Tristen and Heidi (as well as their staff) working our event. Professional and poised, they brought the perfect calm energy that we wanted to our small and personal celebration. I highly recommend reaching out to Black Orchid for your event. Book Black Orchid
Black Orchid did an amazing job catering our wedding. They were very helpful in answering all our questions leading up to our wedding and flexible with us as we made changes. They picked up from 12 Bones BBQ and had zero issues providing everything we needed. They also set up a Harvest Table for our reception/happy hour and the guests loved it! It was the perfect setup and the timing of dinner and service went very smoothly. Sometimes you go to a wedding and it’s a long wait for food or the food is cold or there’s other issues, but we had zero problems with Black Orchid. Their wait staff was also extremely professional.

Black Orchid is my go to event planner!
I have worked with Heidi and team on 4 separate occasions! The first time was for my Mom's 75th birthday party with a throwback 50s diner theme, my Dad's 80th birthday weekend which included coordinating guests coming from out of town, my team Fall Planning event and finally our family reunion. I cannot speak highly enough for the level of communication, professionalism and creativity that was put into each and every event. The team was simply amazing and took a tremendous amount of stress off of me. Heidi attended to every detail and made all of our guests feel incredibly special. She is a great communicator, detail oriented and will make your vision come to life! I would not even attempt to have an event in Western Carolina area without her!
