Hey y’all! I'm Michaela, the human behind Savvy Sapphic. I’ve been planning parties since I was a kid, and now it's my job! Whoa. In 2023, I married my partner, Gwen. And while planning our wedding, I found that there weren’t many resources available for queer or non-traditional marriers like us. So, I decided to build my own. Now I specialize in bold, intentional celebrations created for you– not social media. If you're looking for cookie-cutter, I'm not your person. But if you want a someone fun, a little chaotic, and full of love? Yeah… we’re gonna get along great.

If you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a BIPOC, neurosparkly or disabled human, a former emo/scene kid, free spirit, or otherwise don’t feel represented in the wedding and event industry. I want to work with you!

Amazing services!
Working with Savvy Sapphic Events LLC was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From our first conversation, their communication was clear and responsive, making the entire planning process feel less overwhelming. They were thorough in every aspect, catching details we would have missed and handling them with professionalism that gave us real peace of mind. On our wedding day, they went above and beyond to bring our vision to life while staying attentive to every moment. Their effort genuinely made a difference for us, transforming what could have been stressful into something truly special and memorable. Would not recommend
When I initially hired Michaela, I explained to her that my then fiancée and I just wanted someone to do decorations and day of coordinating. After hiring, we had several issues where at one point she acted as if she was not going to do any of the decorating and needed us to add more time in her contract despite us having minimal decorations and her having three hours to prepare them with the help of our families. During the wedding, it was just fine, but we consistently had issues beforehand with a lack of effort and attempts to get more money from us. After the wedding, we had paid an extra hour for her to stay behind and clean up everything but personal items and instead of doing so, Michaela and her partner sat down in a chair and made my husband’s and my family clean up everything in the venue while they did nothing. She was also very passive aggressive to me. When I told her I wanted to have the bouquet to be the last thing we did before we left the venue because that’s not how it’s typically done.

On the day of the wedding, they kept everyone on task and made sure all the details were perfect. Great to work with!
I run a local beer garden that often hosts events. Michaela has coordinated here several times, and we are always happy to work with her. She is friendly to the staff and vendors while still managing the space. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty. She can wipe out, swear, laugh it off, and then get back to work. Exactly the person you’d want to coordinate your beer garden wedding. I’ve been in this industry for more than 20 years, and I want to say this about the previous review. 1. Weddings are expensive. People are either spending more than they can afford or trying to figure out where they can cut corners. That leads them to hold vendors to impossible standards. 2. Planners and coordinators seem to be getting hit the hardest. Being expected to pick up the pieces of every budget vendor who didn’t do their job and the ones who weren’t hired at all. It’s not realistic. 3. A wedding planner’s job is not to “make all your dreams come true.” Their job is to manage your expectations, budget, vendors, timeline, etc. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
