I am a wedding planner certified by the Wedding Planning Institute at George Mason University. I am based in Springfield, VA, and work throughout the DC, MD, and Loudoun County, VA. As a fun-loving, adventure-craving 20-something, I am also your girl for destination weddings at any spot on the globe! I discovered my passion for wedding planning while designing my own. I would get comments about how "on top of things" or "how organized," and I soon began receiving requests from other engaged couples. I quickly discovered the joy of creating that special day that people have been dreaming of their entire lives and, soon after, launched SWP.

After planning more than 200 weddings, I have had the unique opportunity of working in nearly every aspect of an event — from planning to catering, florals to photography. I strive to make the process as enjoyable and seamless as possible. I plan and run your event with not only you but also your vendors in mind. I give them the time and tools needed for them to give you the best service they can, making your event run as perfectly as possible!

This package is the most comprehensive and is ideal for the busiest of couples who need assistance every step of the way. Services for this package usually begin 12 months prior to the wedding day. This package includes full wedding planning services.

This package is perfect for the busy couple that has a few ideas about their special day, has been researching vendors and venues, but is open to suggestion. This type of service begins 6 months prior to the wedding day. This package includes a consultation and guided partial planning services.

This package is intended for couples who have all the elements of the wedding planned and booked and only need coordination of the event. This service begins 3 months prior to the wedding day. This package includes a consultation and wedding day coordination.

    AMAZING.

    Working with Macy Schilling Wedding Planning was truly a game-changer for us. When the rain forecast came in, Amy and Caroline executed the move indoors flawlessly, they went so far as to hold my dress up off the wet ground so we could still capture photos outside. The communication throughout the entire planning process was exceptional—they were always available and responsive to our needs. Amy and Caroline showed genuine care for making our day special, handling every detail with precision and creativity. I honestly cannot imagine how our wedding would have turned out without Macy and her team by our side.     Everything a bride could want

    Macy and her team were outstanding to work with. Lyndee and Caroline were nothing but kind, caring, understanding, efficient, and truly lovely to be a part of our day. They checked in with us to make sure we were feeling good and had everything we needed as we were getting ready. The ceremony was run perfectly, all of the spaces were decorated beautifully, we had drinks in our hands when needed, and the clean up was done quickly with decor we had brought to the venue. The planning process was smooth, with milestone check ins. All of our questions were answered quickly. Any troubleshooting needed during the process was met with professionalism and grace. They were amazing to work with and I’m sad it’s over!

    A MUST

    Macy is a STAR! She made planning so easy; both in preparation and on the big day. Her checklist for prep is soo thorough and organized (It should be a guarded secret!). On the day, she had everything running so smoothly and helped keep me calm. She’s extremely professional and fun to work with. She also had an amazing teammate, Pam. They juggled so many moving parts with ease; it was impressive to us and our guests. My husband and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you!

    Macy rocks!

    We absolutely loved working with Macy! Macy’s professionalism, preparedness, and warm nature made her an exceptional choice for our special day. Macy is detail oriented, patient and goes above and beyond to make sure your special day runs perfectly. From the first meeting, she understood our vision and worked with us to make sure all vendors worked together seamlessly. Beyond vendor coordination, her vast experience allowed us to take a breath and unplug a bit on the big day because we knew no matter what came our way (even a nor’easter!), Macy had a plan. Her rain plan saved the day and most guests didn’t even realize that it was a rain plan because everything was done with such intention. Macy is well respected within her field and is prepared for any situation. We highly recommend her and her team for your wedding whether large or small. Thanks Macy for everything!

    Working with Schilling Wedding Planning was a mixed experience for us. Leading up to the wedding, communication felt slow and we struggled to get detailed responses about important details like our linens. There wasn’t much interest in helping us with exit plan and cleanup logistics. We were disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm shown during the planning process and wished our planner had been more proactive and detail-oriented. However, on the day of our wedding, everything came together smoothly and our planner was quick to handle any last-minute issues that came up. While the planning phase left us stressed, the actual event ran without major problems. If you choose Schilling, just know that you may need to be more hands-on during planning, but they do deliver on the day itself.

    Hi Karen, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that everything came together smoothly on your wedding day and that our team was able to handle any last-minute issues that arose. We would like to clarify that the package selected was our Pence Package, which is a day-of coordination package rather than a planning or partial planning service. As such, our involvement during the planning process is more limited than with our more comprehensive packages. Regarding the linens, the delay was due to the linen company determining whether additional inventory could be made available for the pattern you selected, as it was a particularly popular design at the time, not due to unresponsiveness.
