They took away a lot of stress from me and my husband which is what I was looking for. She was always available to me and my guests, always touched base with me and kept me up to date with the planning process. Helaine Balsamo was an amazing travel agent. She was always very patient and friendly, especially since this was our very first trip and cruise, and I had no idea how to book anything. She answered all of my many questions while being very friendly, she would get back to me quickly with the answers. Helaine was great in finding the best deal for the dates we were interested in. Helaine Balsalmo helped us plan and book our trip to Italy, where we wanted to visit Rome, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast. We recently worked with Helaine in planning our first-ever trip to Italy (September 2026). We were incredibly fortunate to do so. We highly recommend her! Here's why: Our itinerary was ambitious: Florence, Siena/Tuscany for a family friend’s wedding, Positano / Amalfi Coast, two villages in Campania to visit distant relatives and Rome. There were many moving parts - and they all had to work in unison for us to do and see everything on our extensive list. Helaine was undaunted by the scope of our plans. She truly took the worry out of the months-long planning process! She had great command of all the critical details, large and small, that are essential to making a trip like this go smoothly. Her expertise was invaluable, as she ensured our plans evolved into reality. Some of the many elements of our trip for which Helaine's skilled efforts were essential included: Restaurant and excursion recommendations; travel insurance advice; guidance on advanced bookings and timed tickets (very helpful!); arranging drivers*; booking a private boat day (Amalfi Coast) and private golf cart tour (Rome) and securing top-tier lodging. She also created an itinerary link that kept all the information and details in one place, and made it easy to share with others. In addition, she was incredibly responsive before and during the trip - even when we accidentally texted her at 5am Italy time to inquire about arranging an additional driver on very-short notice! That didn't faze her. She jumped right in and handled the request. [*Of note: The drivers from the car service company Helaine strongly recommended, Daytrip, were exceptional! Each driver was thoroughly professional and courteous while also being warm and helpful. Each journey felt like a guided tour! They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome.] Overall, Helaine was super-easy to work with, engaging and supportive throughout the process! There is so much to say about this team of women! They helped me create one of the most memorable trips of my (and my 47 guests) life! And it just so happens to have been my destination wedding!
