About this venue

The Crow and Calico Tavern at Crozehead Cooperage is a truly unique venue. Set on the backdrop of the oldest farm in Monee, built in 1864, we are the only cooperage in Illinois and one of only 28 in the US. We are 2023 honorees of the IL Bureau of Tourism 'Illinois Makers' award. With over 5 acres, including 2 acres of woodland, a nature trail and a scenic pond, it lends itself to a fairy tale atmosphere. The Crow and Calico Tavern is a quaint and cozy premium whiskey bar with a European feel. A biergarten provides 750 square feet of covered space and includes use of our high tables and fest tables if desired. A furnished side patio provides an ideal spot for a cigar and bourbon! Furnished alcoves along our woodline with fire pits to light the night sky and warm guests souls. We provide a furnished 20 x 30 cocktail tent and outdoor bar. The price includes 2 bartenders for 8 hours as well as an on-site cooper to provide barrel crafting demonstrations and tours at your guests leisure.

    The best hidden gem for a wedding venue

    Crozehead Cooperage Co LLC made our wedding day feel effortless and special. From our first conversation, Loren and his team were responsive and genuinely interested in bringing our vision to life. They went above and beyond by helping us design a custom alcohol menu with detailed tastings, and they set up the entire venue exactly how we pictured it. For 100 guests, we got everything we wanted—catering, an ice cream and churro cart, live music, luxury bathrooms, two full open bars with bartenders, and access the day before and after—all for less than 10k. The whole experience felt laid back and fun, not stressful at all, and we couldn't have asked for better people to work with. Everyone had a blast. We're so grateful to Loren and his family for making our day incredible.

    Dream Wedding Location

    Working with Loren, his son Holden, and their team at Crozehead are an absolute dream from start to finish. They went far beyond what we expected, coordinating seamlessly with our vendors, enhancing the property with thoughtful touches like cultural flags and ambient lighting, and handling all the logistics so we could focus on celebrating. The venue itself is stunning and spacious, providing the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. Tons of parking provided for our guests. What really set them apart was their genuine support throughout the entire process—Loren was always available to help and made sure every detail came together beautifully. We left for our honeymoon completely at ease, knowing everything would be taken care of. If you're looking for a venue owner who truly cares about making your day special, Crozehead is absolutely the place. You will have the most beautiful and relaxed day.

    Best venue!!

    Crozehead Cooperage Co LLC was the perfect choice for our wedding day. From our first conversation with Loren and his family, we knew we were in good hands—they responded quickly to every question and treated us like we were planning with friends, not just vendors. Staff cooper providing 2 hours of demonstrations and tours on the history, tradition and techniques of barrel making. Use of the grounds for 8 hours.
