Don't count on getting your security deposit back

The venue is beautiful but they take your security deposit. There were no teenagers, there were no drunken guests. There were between 80 and 90 adults. We had a cleaning person during the event. They just look for excuses to take your security deposit. The party was over at 10:00 as requested. Some people were collecting belongings and saying their goodbyes past 10:00. It is such a shame to have this be the memory that they leave you with. You are better off at a location that knows how to host a wedding. Below is the exact breakdown from the Lounsbury House: 2. Excessive Cleaning Additional housekeeping and venue staff labor was required due to conditions beyond normal post-event cleanup, including: • Returning displaced furniture and furnishings to original locations throughout the House. • Repositioning antique sofa, 2 armchairs, tables in Crystal Room. Loose arm on 1 chair. • Removing meeting room chairs from bridal suite and returning to meeting room. • Removing mirrored table from restroom and returning to dining room. • Cleaning and removing excessive food residue and spilled sauces(?) from second-floor meeting and conference room tables/carpet. • Removing and consolidating overflowing trash/boxes from restrooms, upstairs hallway. • Addressing/removing wine and makeup stains on the bridal suite carpet (documented by wedding planner). • Removing overflow florals from Ballroom receptacles and proper disposal in trash bags. • Floral remnants left throughout the ceremony garden. • Programs scattered throughout the garden and grounds. • Lawn signage left behind on grounds. • Event-related waste was discarded in the House's construction dumpster instead of House recycling and trash container(s). • Staff time required to sort and remove improperly discarded materials. Charge: 1,000. They had other reasons to keep the security deposit. The total charge that they kept from our security deposit was: Total Deductions: 1,875. I would NEVER book this place for anything in the future, and I have already discouraged friends from considering it.
