I wish I could rate a ZERO - review part 1 of 3
If you haven't already booked with this venue, DON'T. And if you have, run - cut your losses on a deposit because it's not worth the headache. If you stay with this venue, here's a list of what you're in for: 1) an incredibly rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful venue coordinator. She gave zero direction during the rehearsal. She left it up to the bridal party to figure out and come up with a plan for the arrangement of everything for the ceremony. In fact, the only thing she did do at the rehearsal was disappear and then get annoyed that we were still there trying to figure things out for the next day. 2) your decorations to be left undone when you arrive to the venue, despite being told that it would be taken care of. Then the venue coordinator claims they don't do that and an outside decorating company should have been hired (again, zero mention of this beforehand, and their website explicitly states that event setup and breakdown is included in their services) and then told the bride to set up the decorative arch for the ceremony. When bridesmaids stopped that and told the bride to go get ready, venue coordinator told the bridesmaids that there didn't need to be so much drama. At which point bridesmaids told her that there wouldn't be drama if the venue would just do its job and do what they had told the couple it would handle. No response from the venue coordinator was given. 3) being lied to about there being "a huge party" at the venue the night before, so they'd be cleaning up from that and we'd be unable to fully get ready at the venue (with hair and makeup). But the couple had been told everyone could still get dressed at the venue. And when we showed up with full hair and makeup done, just needing to get into our dresses and suits, the coordinator complained about the bridal party getting ready in the provided bridal suite, despite having told the couple that it was ok for us to get dressed there previously. And there very obviously had not been a "huge party" there the night before because we were the only ones in the building during the rehearsal. We were there from 4:30-6:00, and the coordinator couldn't get us out of there fast enough because they "closed at 4:00" even though she was the one who scheduled the rehearsal for 4:30. And then she closed up and left as soon as we got out of there. So where was this "huge party" that they were having there that night? 4) wet seats for your guests to sit on during the ceremony. We were told the seats were wet because they had just been sanitized and maybe hadn't finished drying yet. But this wasn't just wet streaks that were still drying and would dry within a few minutes. This was large drops of pooled water on the seats, the backs of the seats still actively dripping wet, and water collected in pools in the divots between the cushion and the bottom of the seat. All of which were in amounts that were not likely to be dry by the start of the ceremony, which would mean our guests would sit and get their nice clothes all wet. Not acceptable. TO BE CONTINUED...

Unwelcomed
I was very disappointed with my experience working with Blackhawk Country Club for my wedding. Their communication was extremely poor, as they did not provide any reason for why they said they would not be able to host my wedding, even though I saw their starting package price was 3,000. It seems very strange and concerning that they would turn me away without explanation, and I can't help but wonder if it had to do with the color of my skin or my budget as a helicopter builder from Stratford. The venue itself looks beautiful, but their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to work with me on my special day was extremely upsetting and felt very messed up. I would not recommend this venue to any couple looking to get married.
