A Beautiful Venue and Amazing Staff
Los Angeles has so many beautiful event venues, it can be hard to decide. Especially if you and your partner have very different tastes in everything. But I kept seeing the Oviatt pop up in my searches and decided to schedule a tour. We both fell in love as soon as we got out of the elevator. The Oviatt is a lovingly maintained historic building in DTLA. Built as a department store in the 1920s for the city's rich and famous, its art deco details give so much character to the venue that flowers and decorations are almost like gilding a lily. The views from the balconies and upper deck make you feel like you're standing on a little platform from the past among current day LA. The absolute best part, however, was the team. From Gabe who gave us our tour and communicated with us about contracts, to the event team (Lindsey, Cami, and Simone) I couldn't have asked for a more professional and knowledgeable team. They were flexible, had suggestions when I was indecisive, and executed everything beautifully. We changed our package from the basic to the Art Deco Dream, which provided us with vendors that picked up baton for the next steps of our event (DJ, planner, bar/bartenders, caterer). Every single one of our guests was impressed with the the location, the vendors and how seamlessly everything worked. I hope you chose the Oviatt if you want a venue unique to Los Angeles that will exceed your expectations.

A Dream Venue with Truly Exceptional Service
From the moment we walked into The Oviatt for our first tour, we knew we had found our dream wedding venue. What we didn’t know was that working with their incredible team would be just as special as the venue itself. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless. The level of service, attention to detail, professionalism and genuine care was unmatched. We always felt heard, supported and completely taken care of. By the time our wedding arrived, it truly felt like we were celebrating with friends who were personally invested in making our day extraordinary. And The Oviatt itself is simply breathtaking. There is truly nothing else like it in Los Angeles. The history, architecture, rooftop, views and Old Hollywood glamour created exactly the elevated, intimate and unforgettable atmosphere we wanted. Our guests were completely blown away, not only by the space, but by the hospitality and service throughout the entire evening. We heard over and over again that it was one of the most special and memorable weddings they had attended. Choosing The Oviatt was one of the best decisions we made. If you’re considering it for your wedding, book it. The venue is incredible, the team is exceptional, and they gave us a wedding day that exceeded every expectation. The Oviatt will forever hold such a special place in our hearts.

Incredible Venue and Staff
We had our wedding at The Oviatt in June 2026, and it was one of the best days of our lives. Not only is the venue stunning and unique in so many ways (all of which will be self-evident once you see it for yourself), but the staff are truly the best. Gabe, Lindsey, and Cami are so kind, helpful, organized, communicative, and on top of everything. We knew we were in good hands and, sure enough, the entire day ran seamlessly. One thing we especially loved was how well they accommodated our non-traditional timeline. The majority of our friends are dancers, so we made several timeline changes to maximize dancing and the overall party vibes. We had our 90 guests arrive directly into cocktail hour and kept everyone inside to explore the venue with drinks and small bites before opening the rooftop and having guests find their seats at their dinner tables. Since our ceremony was only about 15 minutes, we opted out of doing a room flip! We had our brief ceremony on the dance floor in front of the fountain, then released everyone to the dinner buffet while our immediate family joined us back inside for portraits. Afterward, we took our bride-and-groom portraits on the upper rooftop deck before returning to finish dinner. We had a couple of short toasts and then went straight into dancing. About an hour later, we opened up dessert inside in front of the gorgeous painting, then continued dancing until midnight. The Oviatt team helped make our day run so beautifully, and they worked seamlessly with our day-of coordinator and other vendors. We also chose one of their preferred caterers, California Cookout, which made coordination even easier. Having such a capable team gave us so much peace of mind and allowed us to actually relax and enjoy our wedding. The combination of a one-of-a-kind venue and a staff who truly cared about guests' experience allowed us to have a wedding that felt completely like us, and we would recommend The Oviatt in a heartbeat.

Get married at the Oviatt!
The Oviatt exceeded our wildest dreams and expectations! Many venues simply give you four walls and a roof, and the rest is up to you. One thing we loved about Oviatt is that the venue already has a strong (and, in our humble opinions, extremely cool) aesthetic and a lot of decor that you can work with rather than creating a vibe from scratch. We booked the Art Deco Dreams package which reduced the overall amount of planning we had to do on our own, which was important to us since we didn’t work with a wedding planner. The DJ (Second Song), caterer (California Cookout) bar package, and month-of-coordinator (Jennifer Donaldson/Willow and Bloom) that Art Deco Dreams came with were all incredible! It was also great that the package came with tables, chairs, linens (you get to pick the colors), dishes, drinkware, and silverware. These inclusions were really amazing. We really didn’t want to have to worry about ordering simple things like forks, as you do at some other venues. And it’s not just convenience — their inventory looks great, too! As for other vendors, Oviatt provides a preferred vendor list which we did select our photographer and cake from. Because all vendors have worked with the Oviatt a lot, they each know the venue inside-out, eliminating growing pains that can sometimes come with getting to know a place. That’s another thing: Oviatt really has their stuff on lock. We felt extremely well taken care of. All the staff we worked with — Gabe, Cami, and Lindsey — were incredible! So friendly and extremely responsive. Wedding planning is stressful, but knowing we were in good hands provided such peace of mind. And then there’s the amazing vibes. Our schedule was designed around the sunset. Being surrounded by the beautiful skyline of DTLA as the sky turned pink from the setting sun and the twinkling lights of the city emerged was truly stunning. Our guests loved, and we mean loved, the venue. Many commented that they’d never been to an urban wedding before and that they were obsessed. It was also extremely convenient for both our guests who live in LA and our out-of-towners, given the proximity to many hotels, activities, and transportation. People really appreciated that. We cannot recommend the Oviatt highly enough. Our only complaint is that we don’t get to hang out there every weekend. Someone reading this, invite us please?

Exceptional Venue and Service
Choosing The Oviatt Penthouse & Event Deck for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made, and we do not regret it for a second. From our first conversation through the big day, the team was attentive and respectful, making us feel heard every step of the way. The staff went out of their way to help us with details and stayed accommodating throughout the entire planning process and during our celebration. The space itself is stunning, intimate yet spacious and provided the perfect backdrop for all our favorite moments. Our guests have not stopped talking about how beautiful the venue is and how well everything ran. We give The Oviatt a 10/10 and would recommend it to any couple looking for a memorable place to get married.
