Nestled in a scenic nook of Branford, The Owenego has welcomed guests to Connecticut’s spectacular shoreline since 1847. Often referred to as a “hidden gem,” the inn is steeped in history, while offering the amenities of today. Beautifully situated on a grassy knoll that overlooks expansive views of Long Island Sound, The Owenego is a uniquely beautiful location in which to say, “I Do!” to a lifetime of tomorrows.

The Owenego Inn

Join the tradition… Celebrate your love at The Owenego.

Many couples choose to exchange their vows on the lawn, with our enchanting waterfront garden and Long Island Sound providing a magical backdrop. After the ceremony, many of our bridal parties kick off their heels and slide on their sparkly flipflops for beach photos and dancing. While we can be as formal and fancy as you would like, we specialize in casually elegant, beachfront weddings. The Owenego Inn has been the home to many beautiful weddings throughout the years. We can accommodate up to two hundred guests for a sit-down dinner. For a dinner buffet, seating is limited to one hundred fifty guests. With a cocktail buffet, the Inn can accommodate a maximum of 130 guests. In all instances, we require a minimum guarantee of one hundred persons.

Included in this room:

9-Hour Rental of Main Dining Room, Upper Dining Room, Granite Bar, Front and Side Decks. The 9-hour rental period allows five hours for your reception with additional time before and after in which to set up and break down. This 9-hour time frame allows for 2 1⁄2 hours for your caterers to set up prior to your reception and 1 1⁄2 hour for vendors to clean-up after your celebration. Couple will select one of The O’s preferred caterers. Preferred caterers will have use of The Owenego kitchen. A representative from The O will be onsite on your special day to serve as a building manager and to assist vendors and tend to the inn. For indoor celebrations, The O offers an assortment of round and rectangular tables, several buffet tables, and 200 silver, Chiavari chairs. Wedding couple will have use of The O’s Wedding Nook throughout the rental period. The couple will have access to the Nook 2 hours prior to the scheduled start time of celebration.

    The Perfect Wedding Venue

    There cannot be a better place to get married in New England. The inn is breathtaking with beautiful views of the sound and perfectly manicured gardens. The inn itself is perfectly New England. Just do yourself a favor and visit. But there are beautiful venues in many places. The hosts and staff made our wedding perfect. They will move mountains to support you, are incredibly honest and a dream to coordinate with. They truly make you feel like you are being hosted my family. Particularly if you are looking to bring in outside catering, choosing the Owenego will be the best wedding decision you make.
