Renegade Outpost is a full service event planning and chef services company. We've been in business for 12 years and have been working with Thumbtack/Zola. We have been hired more than 400 times and have 270 5-star reviews. We offer logistical services as well as day/of coordination and securing rentals. Our "rolodex" includes many of the best vendors for all your event needs. Making your job easier is our highest priority. Wonderful food always begins with amazing ingredients, especially produce. We source directly from local farmers, we work with an organic butcher, a wild fish monger and importers of select cheese and specialty products. Food pricing starts at $55pp and staffing starts at $30hr.

Food is the heart of every catered event. We work with you and curate the menu based on seasonal delicious produce, expert preparation and beautiful presentation. The produce inspires us and we often build a dish around the vegetables. From plated dinners to high end cocktail events... from chef-manned stations to grazing tables... from fundraisers and galas to weddings and themed events, we have the professional staff to ensure your event runs smoothly. We were inspired by Leanna and Jean's cultural backgrounds, Italian and Dominican respectively. Given that I am also of Sicilian/Cuban background, this allowed me to effortlessly create a bountiful menu combining both their cuisines

    Superb caterer!

    Food was a priority for our wedding and Chef Ellen and her team went above and beyond! All of the food was delicious, from the starters to the main courses to the late night snacks! Ellen was so helpful throughout the process, guiding us to design a delicious menu and helping us with so many other planning aspects with the venue- the furniture rental order, decor and layout ideas, doing multiple walk throughs etc. She was communicative, responsive and a joy to work with.

    We worked with Renegade Outpost for our wedding and couldn't be happier with the experience. Their team communicated with us quickly throughout the planning process, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. The food was great, very unique menu and appetizers. What really impressed me was how efficiently they executed everything, especially considering our non-traditional venue space (wedding venue was Queens Botanical Gardens). They handled the logistics with such professionalism that you'd never know it was anything out of the ordinary.     Excellent chef!

    Ellen was absolutely outstanding and truly went above and beyond. Every dish she prepared was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and her passion shines through in every detail. She created a menu that was incredibly creative, with unique and interesting dishes that impressed everyone. Throughout the party, I kept hearing guests rave about how amazing the food was. I will definitely be using Ellen’s services again for future parties and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a private chef. I can’t thank her enough for her fabulous work—she made our event truly special!

    Renegade Outpost

    I hired Ellen and her crew for an office party.  I had to do all the planning remotely due to not living in the state where the party was taking place. Ellen was easy to work with, she was efficient, a great coordinator, very knowledgable about all the details needed to throw a great party, decorations, tasty food and having sufficient food and drinks.  I would highly recommend her services to others looking for a caterer that will help you step by step in ensuring your party is a hit.

No. We pride ourselve in transparent pricing. There are no delivery,admin, cake cutting or other outrageous fees when you work with us.
Yes, we offer tastings for you and as many guests as you like starting at $300. There will be all the apps and 1 each of all the entrees but as many forks as you like. When you book us, the $150 will be credited to your total
Yes, our event minimum is $2000 for all weddings.
We recommend meeting twice. One meeting will focus on finalizing menus and headcount. One will be at the venue and cover day-of logistics.
We are full service. We will work with you to find options within your budget. If necessary, we can meet you at the rental place to plan your options
For summer and fall weddings, we recommend at least 2 months in advance, however if you wait that long, we will proably be booked. For other events, we only need 5 days notice
We serve NY, NJ, CT and PA. On occasion, we travel to other states. Staffing costs might increase based on distance,time and tolls. I, personally have done weddings outside the country
We can customize fully vegetarian or vegan menus. We can find outside vendors for individual kosher meals. We also can work with all types of severe allergies. We are industry professionals and take great care preserving your guests health and well being
We do not charge a cake cutting fee , admin fee, delivery fee or any other outrageous fee. We will cut and serve your wedding cake to your guests at no additional cost.
