We are available for weddings for the middle of May until early-June and then again from mid-August through September.     Thank you for the best weekend of our lives!!

    Choosing to have our wedding at Camp Timber Lake was probably the single most important decision we made during the planning process. The camp setting gave us the opportunity to create something far more immersive, personal, and joyful than we had imagined, and the camp / Gatheround staff and everyone involved in the planning process gave us the ability to execute on making all our dreams come true! In the months leading up to the wedding, we worked closely with Will, who was incredibly friendly, responsive, and on top of every detail. He always made time to talk through our many questions and helped accommodate some of our more unconventional requests—from having Camp Timber Lake cater our Sunday reception dinner (which we highly recommend!) to brainstorming the best locations for a nighttime game of kick the can. The camp itself is absolutely beautiful and was perfectly manicured for our arrival. There were endless activities for our guests to enjoy, and the staff placed sports equipment throughout the property so everyone could immediately jump into whatever interested them. Our guests had so much fun exploring the grounds, tossing frisbees and footballs, shooting hoops, and making the camp their own for the weekend. The staff including Reggie, Scott, Liz, Willow, Marcie, and so many others, were AMAZING. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the weekend special. Scott and Liz stayed on top of every detail, and the entire team continually went above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome and cared for. When one of our guests lost her phone in the dining hall after hours, the team turned the lights back on and helped her search for it. After she mentioned that she was having trouble turning on the heat in her cabin, they walked over to help, then returned 15 minutes later with brownies and ice cream for her and her cabin-mates as a nice surprise. Another favorite moment happened on the dance floor Saturday night. We had brought bubble guns but realized too late that they required batteries we didn’t have. We’d given up on using them, but when Willow (one of the camp staff) overheard a friend say, “I wish we had batteries for these bubble guns.” he went and tracked down batteries from TV remotes around the camp on his own accord and got the bubble guns working. They ended up being a huge hit! Moments like these, and so many others, made us feel completely at home and made our guests feel incredibly well cared for. The food was also outstanding. We received rave reviews about every meal. The team went out of its way to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions, providing hearty vegan and vegetarian options at every meal. They even prepared a special plate every meal for my mom, who has an autoimmune disorder that prevents her from eating most spices. The team also decorated dishes with edible flowers and made everything look beautiful. For our reception dinner on the final night, they even came up with the idea of displaying leftover Boy Scout patches from one of our weekend activities along the buffet counter. It was the perfect thoughtful touch. We had multiple guests tell us that this was their favorite wedding they had ever attended, and Camp Timber Lake (and the wonderful people who run it) were a huge reason why. Thank you for giving us and our guests such a magical, joyful, and unforgettable weekend. It truly was the best weekend of our lives! Can’t recommend this wedding venue enough!

    Our choice of venue was hands down the best decision we made. Beyond the clear scale, size, and beauty of the camp, it truly cannot be overstated how wonderful the team is — from the year-long prep and coordination down to the weekend-of staff. I would have never expected such a high level of professionalism, care, generosity and overall coolness of a team at a summer camp (I have worked with significantly less professional teams at many of HV’s most luxurious resorts). If you’re looking for a weekend where all your loved ones can gather, be casual and communal, let their guards down, and enjoy the gorgeous Catskills, this is it. A true hidden gem of a venue.

    Stunning Venue

    From the moment we pulled up to Timber Lake Camp and saw the mountain views we knew we wanted our wedding there. The views and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We knew we wanted to be able to have time to spend with all of our family and friends and TLC allowed us to do just that. Meredith was AMAZING throughout the entire planning process, always answering our emails in a timely fashion and willing to schedule a call for us. She helped us coordinate visits to the camp before our big day so we could plan accordingly. We were able to arrive (with family) on Thursday to start setting up everything for the weekend, which was great because it allowed us to have some time on Friday to relax before all our guests started to arrive. One of the great things about TLC is you can make the wedding into anything you would like it to be, granted it takes a lot of extra work, planning, and coordination, but I would not have changed a thing. Our guests have not stopped raving about how thoughtful all of the details we put into the wedding were and how much the venue represented us a people and a couple. The TLC staff were absolutely incredible the weekend of our wedding. From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted at the front gate, given directions on parking, and then provided transportation via golf cart to their cabins. Everyone had such a great time at the camp. Reggie and Sheila (and other staff) made us DELICIOUS meals throughout the weekend that everyone enjoyed! Scott was amazing in helping coordinate all of the events for the weekend and making sure everything ran smoothly. Special shout out to Willow for his support and assistance with everything and anything that came up during the weekend! At all points there were golf carts around to transport our guests anywhere they needed to go, whether it was to the bonfire Friday and Saturday nights, the golf course, the kickball game Saturday morning, to/from ceremony, or just getting around the camp, someone was there to help. We chose to open the waterfront for Saturday (an extra fee), but was so worth it. Our guests had the best time going down the water slide, kayaking, and using the pool before the wedding. We cannot recommend TLC for your wedding weekend enough!

The event organizer(s) are responsible for: • the reception catering • the set-up and break-down of any non-Timber Lake equipment or decorations. • the purchase and service of all alcohol. • obtaining insurance and worker’s compensation coverage for the rental group and any of its sub-contractors. • guest check-in after 10:00PM on the 1st night of the event. • cabins and rooms are left in broom-clean condition.
The staff of Timber Lake are responsible for: • guest check-in until 10:00PM on the first night of the event. • preparing and serving 4 buffet-style meals (unless otherwise agreed upon). • 1 complimentary camp fire with s’mores (weather dependent). • dining hall manager and facility manager on site to assist and for basic maintenance.
Timber Lake is available beginning in early June and ending in late September with the exception of mid-June to mid-August during our summer camp program.
The weather and seasons in the Catskills differ from that of the Greater New York City area. The temperatures in early June, August, and September can fluctuate widely. Some days and nights may feel like the middle of the summer and others may feel more distinctly like spring or fall. Timber Lake does have multiple indoor facilities, including an indoor ceremony location, so hosting your wedding celebration or event in the off-season is never a concern.
We would be happy to give you a tour of our campus! Tours are based on availability and are typically offered Monday-Sunday with the exception of holidays.
A $5000 deposit is due at the signing of the contract. The rest of the balance is spread out over 4 more installments leading up to the wedding weekend. Final balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to event.
We love hosting bonfires around our stone fire pit that sits between our two lakes. We can even prepare an assortment of marshmallow roasting materials for your group to enjoy. Firework displays are also a fun and unique way to surprise your family and guests. In addition to the use of our facilities, which comes with your rental, there are several packages we offer to enhance you and your guests’ experience at Timber Lake.
Yes, we offer a “bridal suite” cabin as well as on-site accommodations, including private rooms and shared cabins.
We offer a linens package that includes sheets, blanket, pillow and pillowcase, and a towel for each guest in your group.
We do not have a facility fee. Our pricing is per guest.
We have plenty of covered and indoor facilities that we can move your guests into in the event of inclement weather. We have the experience and resources to move any group inside and get them back up and running again in no time!
We only host one wedding per weekend, but we may have multiple groups during the weekdays utilizing different spaces throughout the campus.
The arrival and departure times of every group can be customized to meet each group’s needs. For weddings, we have a standard arrival time of 3:00PM on the 1st day of the event and departure time of 12:30PM on the final day of the event.
No, however, our group rentals liaison will guide you through the entire process of planning out your event with us. For weddings, we will work with each couple on everything from menu customization, vendor recommendations, overall setup, and beyond to ensure your day is perfect! We recommend that you hire a Day-of Coordinator who can work with our team to make your day go as smoothly as possible.
Timber Lake will be available for decorating either the day before or the day of your event. We do offer an option for small groups of guests coming early to set up an event to stay on the grounds the night before the event begins. The group is responsible for putting up all decorations. We do not allow confetti or any open flame including candles.
Yes, our accommodations have heat and all of our available dates are dates that we feel provide warm enough weather for guests to be comfortable on our property. All of our shared cabins have air conditioning and most of our private rooms have window air conditioning units.
Our insurance prevents us from providing or serving alcohol. You are welcome to bring alcohol on our campus. You can have guests serve themselves or you can hire bartenders as long as they possess the proper liquor liability insurance coverage.
Timber Lake’s breathtaking campus sits on a mountaintop surrounded by 500 acres in New York’s Catskill Mountains, just 2 ½ hours from New York City and 1 ½ hours from Albany.
We have approximately 40 family-style round tables as well as up to 400 chairs that we will provide at no additional cost for the wedding receptions. We have about 200 chairs for the ceremonies. Wedding groups are welcome to use our basic silverware and camp plates at no additional charge. We only ask that, if we are not providing the meal when these are used, that the wedding group be responsible for cleaning after use.
We do provide onsite parking!
The rooms and cabins are not considered handicap accessible, but there is a ramp into the dining hall where the reception is typically held and the roads/paths in camp that will be used are paved.
