I feel music and the emcee often makes or breaks a great wedding, so I spent considerable time reviewing possible DJs to work with. We ended up going to DJ Addison, who at the time was considered a "first-year DJ." He exceeded all expectations. Addison was simply a treat to work with in the planning stages and was exceptionally on point and professional during the wedding day. He's funny but classy, professional but not uptight, willing to make on-the-fly changes, and kept the dance floor hopping during the reception. From his bridal party introductions to saying goodbye at the end of the night, he was simply great. Our wedding was moved inside at the last minute due to rain and he somehow relocated his setup on the fly and didn't complain or seem stressed during the chaos. DJ Torpedo offers a really wonderful music planning app that is easy to understand and pick your songs from ceremony to reception. The app has YouTube integration that allows you to easily assemble your playlists. “Oscar was a great DJ, he mixed the songs so well. We had a large array of music, from Venezuelan, Bolivian, Brazilian, Mexican, Puerto Rican, salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata but also american classics, pop, etc. He did a fabulous job in both speaking in english and spanish. “The ENTIRE night...we kept hearing "Your DJ is so fun!!!" and we could not agree more! Gemma and Luv'dup DJs was so easy, fun, and stress-free to work with from the very beginning. We were assured that the music we wanted to play would be played, that they had sound/mics/audio/lights all under control, and that Gemma would dance the night away with us. We opted to do the uplighting package, and that was worth every penny too. The whole Luv'dup team was so communicative and professional throughout the entire planning process. We wanted a fun, upbeat feeling for cocktail hour and dinner, and a dance floor that was packed the whole night. Gemma absolutely delivered both, and she read the room SO perfectly to keep playing songs that the crowd would love dancing and singing to. I know I'm biased, but I truly don't think I have never seen a dance floor so crowded and happy at a wedding. We have Gemma and Luv'dup to thank for curating the perfect, joyful party. We could not recommend Luv'dup DJs and Gemma more...especially if you are getting married at Curtis Arboretum!”

“DJ Neal was an amazing choice for our recent wedding at the Rust Manor House in Leesburg, VA. From the beginning of the wedding process, DJ Neal was friendly, communicative, and thoughtful. He took into consideration some of our favorite artists and curated a wonderful playlist for our wedding day (i.e., ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception). We had quite a unique request being “early 2000s nostalgia” for the reception and he delivered! During couples portraits before the ceremony, I remember telling people how much I enjoyed the music he was playing. Additionally, during our reception in the outdoor tent, everyone was out of their seat and on the dance floor. As someone who considers themselves a homebody, he really brought me and my (now) husband out of our shells and created such a fun energy. The transitions between songs were so smooth and well executed. Additionally, he was a wonderful and well-spoken MC for our event. We really appreciated him for being part of our big day! “The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

All her photos and videos turned out amazing. The NYX staff was super professional and helpful. They also helped us coordinate the timeline and flow of events, and everything went really smoothly the day of. And not to mention, their DJ was fantastic! “We had an amazing experience with DJ Brian for our wedding! He was fantastic both as our DJ and MC and we felt like everything was handled so seamlessly throughout the day. For our ceremony, he coordinated directly with our coordinator to make sure the processional and ceremony timing went smoothly. We also had specific songs we wanted played at specific moments throughout the wedding and he nailed all of those cues. One of the highlights was our Battle of the Brothers game during the reception. We had a specific idea for how we wanted the game to work, but we didn't even have to walk him through how to engage the crowd — he immediately knew how to host it and keep everyone involved. Our guests were incredibly engaged and it ended up being one of the most fun moments of the reception. For the dancing, while he didn't end up playing every song we had specifically requested, there was someone on the dance floor pretty much the entire night, which says a lot about how well he read the room! He was professional, easy to work with, and did a great job keeping the energy going while also making sure the important moments of the evening happened smoothly. “I would give Dj Maskell a BILLION stars if I could! Not only was he the best wedding dj ever, he always played the biggest part in our wedding planning process. My husband and I are very adhd and we were dragging our feet to get all the little details figured out. Mark helped us get organized and even provided us with a super detailed spreadsheet with EVERYTHING involving our wedding to make sure nothing was missed. We booked him over 2 years before our wedding and every single time we reached out with questions, he responded immediately with answers. Anytime we needed to talk to him, he was able to schedule meetings with us right away. He met with us WEEKLY the month of our wedding to ensure everything was going exactly as planned and because of all of those things, we tell everyone Dj Maskell is the reason we were able to pull off our dream wedding. He was our “Master of Ceremonies” as well so he made sure everything went smoothly and everything stayed on schedule during our ceremony! Our ceremony was on the beach so we were worried our guests wouldn’t be able to hear us because of the wind, waves, etc. But Mark had discrete mics set up for us so everyone could hear us perfectly. He was able to use all the songs we wanted, even though some of them were only available on YouTube and SoundCloud. As for music, he absolutely KILLED IT! We are big into EDM, primarily dubstep, and he curated the perfect amount of our fave music, with music for the normies as well. My guests were hyping him up all weekend and even STILL text me saying how much they love him lol. I don’t write reviews often, but I wish I could shout from the rooftops how wonderful Mark is to work with, and how kind and helpful he really is. He not only played our wedding, but also our Welcome Party the night before AND Wedding After Party. He has the best energy and is HILARIOUS. He really brought all the vibes to make our wedding weekend absolutely perfect. PS: HIS LIGHT SHOW IS AMAZING!!! He has the coolest most discrete lights (you may be able to see in some of the pics I posted) and they are super slim and don’t get in the way. He let me control the lights at our after party lol!”

“I first encountered 24k at a wedding that I attended in 2022. When it came time for my wedding, I remembered how they were so lively and energetic, and I inquired if they could come out a little further, even though my (June 2026) wedding was in West Virginia. The band was both flexible and easy-going about that and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT on the dance floor! Jill was the main point of contact and she asked all the right questions, including very kindly making doubly sure that everyone’s names were pronounced correctly during reception introductions (there were Chinese, European, and African names in the mix!). We made specific requests for the Bridal Party intro and First Dance songs that the band agreeably accommodated. For example, I entered into the reception with the Wyclef Jean song “911” and the band DJ’ed the song at the right parts so that my friend and vocalist could sing it live as my husband I entered the reception area (I’m 5’1” and the song references an “assailant” who is 5’1”, so it was important to get the timing right for comedic effect!) They were open to that collaboration that made the event more fun. We also asked that the lyrics of the Avett Brothers song “January Wedding” be changed to “June Wedding” when the band performed the First Dance. In terms of their actual performance, 24k BROUGHT IT (!!!). Besides sounding fantastic, the band members have great chemistry with each other and appear to actually just enjoy the music themselves. We had a diverse guest list (188 guests), and family members old and very young, co-workers, church and other friends, and friends from our martial arts dojo community, were all on the dance floor. Folks were having a GREAT time. The band maintained energy on the floor until the very end. Even the venue staff at our open bar were dancing along all night; and our wedding coordinator staff shared with me how “amazing” they thought 24K was when I walked past them! I should also mention that the individual band members I interacted with during the night were very kind and engaging. One mentioned to me that he had read the answers to our couple Bingo Trivia game that was posted and that he felt like he knew us already from reading it! You could see this open spirit in the performance of the band. After our Grand Exit, my husband and I walked about a 100 yards to our lodgings on the venue site (The Bavarian Inn); however, we stopped on our balcony to hear the band lead the guests in singing the song “Country Roads” to close out the night. We watched the twinkly lights sparkling in the distance as we heard the joy of both the band and the guests. It was truly remarkable! After the wedding, MANY guests commented on how much they enjoyed 24k’s live performance. There is a world of difference between a DJ and a quality live band, and having 24k –a *very high* quality band – made our wedding celebration so much more special, joyous, and FUN!”

If you’ve had a good time at a wedding or event in the DC/Maryland/VA area, chances are it was DJ Casanova that got you moving. You know him as DJ Casanova, but around the office, we just call him Jamie. Back in the day, he was just a child of immigrants recording his favorite songs over his parent’s cassette tapes (sorry Mom and Dad) so he could listen to them on his prized Walkman. Jamie entered the DJ field in 2009, and before long he was spinning something at a different party every week. Pretty soon he realized that sharing his love of music with like-minded folks was more than just a hobby, it was a gift.

“DJ Casanova was recommended to us by our venue and we could not have been happier with our decision to have him DJ our wedding reception. He is extremely organized and responsive. He shared a wedding planning sheet with us that allowed us to build our timeline and reception playlist. He also allowed us to create our own playlists for cocktail hour and dinner music (though he has some of his own playlists that we 'stole' some songs from too). What really made DJ Casanova stand out was that he met with us virtually (we don't live in the DMV area) multiple times before our wedding. His main focus during the first session was to learn about us as individuals and a couple, as well as our families. The second session was focused on logistics, name pronunciations, etc. He was extremely receptive to our requests and made the wedding day exactly what we wanted. Many of our guests asked us how we found our DJ because they were so blown away with the musical selections he played and how friendly he was during the reception. Josh was extremely amenable to all requests and went above and beyond to help ensure an incredible experience. My reception was so much fun in large part thanks to Josh’s DJing. Tracey did a wonderful job with the Photo Booth from the background to the props to ensuring a fun experience for us and our guests. I really could not recommend them higher. We got so much added value from their services. We definitely got our money’s worth—more than we paid for really. I highly recommend them both!”

“Jason was great throughout the whole process! He was great at communicating and making sure he had all of the songs that we wanted (and didn’t) throughout the night. He also did a great job at adjusting the songs played based off of what our guests responded well to so people were on the dance floor all the time which I loved!! He collected a bunch of photos from us and displayed them on a screen that’s built into his DJ booth (I don’t know what it’s called) and many guests came up to us to specifically tell us that they loved seeing our pictures of us and our relationship as well as pics of us growing up. It’s something I don’t even think of doing, but Jason offered and I’m so glad he did! He also set up a photo booth that was very popular. He was great at making sure that things that I needed were just taken care of and went out of his way to coordinate with my wedding planner and kept me in the loop which I appreciated. We had a ton of kids at our wedding and he did a great job at playing clean (and popular) music that wasn’t raunchy. If I have any other events I’ll be sure to book Jason and I’d highly recommend him to any of my friends and family!”
