“We had the chance to DJ a wedding here recently and it was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony takes place right down by the Colorado River, which creates a really special, intimate setting with the water and canyon walls all around you. From there, guests head up to the reception area on the terrace, which overlooks the river and mountains—such a cool transition and a great way to separate the spaces. The patio setup for dinner and dancing is beautiful and feels very “Colorado.” Overall, it’s a really unique venue that combines a true outdoor experience with a polished reception space. The ceremony and reception take place within the two-story building and there are large accordion opening windows for mountain views throughout your ceremony and reception. The Homestead & Wedding Pavilion Venue can accommodate up to 100 guests and has an outdoor covered Pavilion with mountain views as the ceremony space and a historic rustic cabin for the reception space. “Spruce Mountain was the best venue we could have possibly chosen. My fiancé was sold from the pictures online and when we toured, I spent the whole time just breathless. We were on the upper ranch with the ceremony on Trey's Vista (stunning), cocktail hour in the Spruce Room, and reception in the Ponderosa Room. Communication with them was easy, Tara was our representative and she happily answered all of our questions and communicated seamlessly without overloading our inbox. She even provided me with a preferred vendors list of vendors they have worked with before which created a great starting place for finding vendors. I was a bit skeptical of their requirement of a Day of Coordinator, but I am so thankful that they required it. We didn't have to lift a finger on the wedding day, I wasn't being asked a million questions, it was fantastic. On the wedding day, our property manager came to introduce herself and told us where to find her if we needed her, there was music playing on the TV in the bridal suite, everything was so clean and perfectly set up to start the day. All of our guests could not stop raving about the venue - the views at the ceremony site, having separate spaces for each part of the day, the mix of indoor and outdoor space for the cocktail hour and reception, and so many said "this sets my bar so high for weddings". If I could do my wedding all over again, I would book Spruce with no hesitation!!”

“Tammy & The FDR crew are absolutely incredible! This was hands down the most beautiful and breathtaking Mountain property! The venue boasts impeccably maintained landscaping/flowers, 2 ceremony site options (Aspen Grove View or Mountain View), a large white reception tent with dance floor, vendor/catering tents, on site bathrooms, a cabin for bridal party to get ready in -- and all within a comfortable 15min proximity to town which was amazing for our 200 guests! The FDR team was accommodating, friendly, and a joy to work with making our special day really personal and fun!! I highly recommend the FDR and Team as they make weddings look and feel like an absolute DREAM!”

“In July 2024, we had our wedding reception at Lucky 8 Ranch, and we can't say enough good things about our experience! When we first toured the venue shortly after getting engaged, we immediately knew that this would be our dream wedding location. We toured other venues in the greater Steamboat area too, but Lucky 8 stood out to us. Not only is the ranch absolutely stunning, but the folks who work there are very kind, caring, and hardworking. This proved to be the case even more-so as Nick offered a great deal of hand-holding throughout the entire planning process, and went above and beyond to ensure our day went smoothly. My family primarily traveled from the NJ/NY area, and my husband's from ND, SD, MN and NE. We really wanted to offer our guests a Western experience, and the stunning mountain views, beautifully decorated tent, and even an unexpected afternoon thunderstorm (which was handled so gracefully by Nick and his staff!) was the perfect way to show our guests what Colorado is all about.
