“You should ABSOLUTELY choose DJ Kelsey for your wedding — or any event, really. When my wife and I started searching for vendors, we approached every decision with a lot of thought and research. On the Get Down Tonight website, I watched all the DJs’ introduction videos. At first, I realized I had inadvertently skipped the female DJs, immediately corrected myself, and watched their videos. Both women were fantastic, but Kelsey instantly stood out. While many DJs covered the usual talking points, Kelsey was the only one who emphasized being detail-oriented — mastering the pronunciation of every name, paying attention to pacing, and understanding the many moving parts of a wedding. She’s all about creating an incredible dance floor vibe, but she also clearly understands the responsibility of running the flow of an entire event. The DJ truly sets the tone, and Kelsey takes that seriously. Our friends and family love to be silly and have fun on the dance floor, and Kelsey understood that energy immediately. She chose songs perfectly, and throughout the night people kept complimenting our DJ while we were still dancing. “DJ Shyne is the difference between a good wedding and a once-in-a-lifetime, next-level, unforgettable experience. Hiring him was the single best decision we made for our wedding. He is outstanding—a true artist in his craft. It’s so clear that he’s not only dedicated to his profession but also deeply loves what he does. We gave DJ Shyne what we thought was an impossible challenge: blend pop hits, Spanish tunes, emo throwbacks, Disney jams, booty-shaking hip hop, and a long list of theme songs from our favorite TV shows and movies (everything from The White Lotus to Saw). On top of that, we added a handful of random, deeply personal songs you’d never expect at a wedding. What happened? “Ripcord is the best wedding band you could be lucky enough to find at a wedding! They bring such incredible energy combined with a high-end musicianship that creates a memorable experience that will have your guests complimenting you for months. We’ve now been to four weddings soundtracked by Ripcord, but our favorite was our own. We discovered them in 2017 at one of our best friends’ wedding, and they were such a fun band that they’ve been the first call as everyone in our friend group gets married. We made sure to book them as soon as we secured our venue (about a year before our August wedding), because even though there are three bands within Ripcord, they get reserved quickly. We knew we wanted a horn section, so we hired the 8-piece (male singer, female singer, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, trumpet, trombone). We had a couple calls with our day-of wedding coordinator and Ananda, Ripcord’s incredibly friendly event coordinator, about 4 weeks and 2 weeks before the big day to go over the timeline and details surrounding our first dance and parent dances, and our entrance. One of the key reasons we chose Ripcord was the extensive song list published on their website, which is not only long but spans practically every genre. This included bands I love but some of which I’d never subject my wedding guests to! (311, Gin Blossoms, and deep cuts from Dave Matthews Band for some reason?) Ananda assured us that they could play pretty much every song we asked for, even ones not on their list. As the bride and groom, we of course missed a few songs but they seemed to hit 80-90% of our request list. In addition to our first dances, which required them to learn a couple new songs (“Lover” remix by Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes, and an obscure Israeli tune), Ripcord were happy to let me create one of the highlights of a lifetime by letting me play drums with the band for “Boys of Summer” by The Ataris. Ripcord also provided a keyboardist for our ceremony on the beach, learning two more songs for our processionals and recessional (“You” by Dan & Shay, “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift), which helped create such a beautiful atmosphere. We appreciated the very reasonable payment timeline (50% when you book, 50% on event day). One minor issue was that we could not hear the dinner set in the dining area despite our paying to add an extra PA system to do so, but this would probably not be an issue for most couples hiring Ripcord. Because we had a day-of wedding coordinator, we didn’t handle any logistics ourselves on our wedding day, but we heard of no other logistical issues.”

“My husband and I used Direct Entertainment for our DJ and videographer for our wedding and we could not be more pleased!! The team was professional, great at communication, very kind and professional, and they helped make our day absolutely perfect! Jeff, our DJ kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT!! When the music had to stop at the end of the night, the dance floor was still completely full and no one wanted it to end. He did a great job announcing the events of the night, made sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and he stuck to our wedding playlist with the exception for a couple guest requests (which we were happy to allow). We were so happy and thankful to have Jeff there! Sie, our videographer also did a wonderful job! We have not yet received our video as our wedding was less than 2 weeks ago, but I already know it is going to be amazing. He was so great with communication, was prompt with his timing, and he even set up a second camera for guests to break away and give us well wishes for our marriage, which I'm so excited to watch back. He was very professional and wonderful to work with. We decided to add videography at the last minute because we thought we might regret not having it, and I am SO happy we asked Jim at Direct Entertainment if they had someone available for our day just a month before, and they did!! Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. Overall, we would 1000% recommend Direct Entertainment for any wedding entertainment needs! “DJ Buono & DJ Tavo & crew were absolutely incredible!! As a news reporter, I can appreciate producing a SHOW and that is exactly what they put on! This was SO much MORE than a great wedding!! From the first phone call, DJ Tavo's excitement and attention to detail was top tier. DJ Buono helped sculpt our ENTIRE reception & even gave us the idea to have dinner become more of a performance with our violinist. They immediately welcomed her into the mix and it made for the BEST time!! You would have thought she worked with them nightly. This was an elegant night out in Boston meets IBIZA!! We could barely sit still to eat because we were all dancing in our seats!! I have never seen guests rush the dance floor like this. (& I've once been to 13 weddings in a single year) To the point, we had to tell some of them to sit down so we could do parent dances!! People literally could not wait to start dancing/celebrating!! We cannot believe this was our WEDDING!!! & it wouldn't have been the same without Black Diamond Event Production! People are still messaging us to say this was the best wedding they've ever been to! Not only is this team so talented that it is almost out of this world, they are also good people. People you'd want sitting at your table, people you'd want in your corner, and people you will want to keep in touch with forever. DJ Tavo sent us our dinner and reception mixes as they played the night of our wedding almost immediately. Which means we can keep reliving this night!! It was such a sweet surprise. We will never forget this & will be recommending them to all of our friends and family. We will scream it from the top of Boston's Prudential Center (where our reception was) if we have to! Not to mention, this was the FIRST ever full wedding reception up there (with this guest count) and they took on the challenge with EASE!! Book Black Diamond Event Production!! You won't regret it!!!
