After searching for a DJ for about two weeks, we stumbled upon Groovytown Entertainment through Instagram, and everything fell into place. Our main focus was on the ceremony, as we wanted my cousins to play piano and guitar while guests arrived. We needed a DJ who could seamlessly accommodate this setup. At the same time, we also wanted someone who could keep the dance floor packed all night—both my family and my wife’s family love to dance! When we reached out, we connected with Biko, who immediately impressed us during a video chat. Just minutes into the call, we knew we were in good hands. Biko’s expertise with weddings was evident; he had so much energy and gave us insights about the timeline and flow of the day that we hadn’t even considered. It was clear he cared deeply about making our day perfect, and we booked him the very next day. Leading up to the wedding, we had two more meetings with Biko to finalize every detail. He was thorough, organized, and made sure everything was streamlined for our big day. On the wedding day, Biko arrived on time and had everything set up for our cousins to perform during the ceremony. The ceremony went flawlessly, and when it was time for the reception, we already knew we were in for a great time. Biko did not disappoint! We danced non-stop from the moment the music started until the venue literally couldn’t accommodate us anymore. “My husband and I used Direct Entertainment for our DJ and videographer for our wedding and we could not be more pleased!! The team was professional, great at communication, very kind and professional, and they helped make our day absolutely perfect! Jeff, our DJ kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT!! When the music had to stop at the end of the night, the dance floor was still completely full and no one wanted it to end. He did a great job announcing the events of the night, made sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and he stuck to our wedding playlist with the exception for a couple guest requests (which we were happy to allow). We were so happy and thankful to have Jeff there! Sie, our videographer also did a wonderful job! We have not yet received our video as our wedding was less than 2 weeks ago, but I already know it is going to be amazing. He was so great with communication, was prompt with his timing, and he even set up a second camera for guests to break away and give us well wishes for our marriage, which I'm so excited to watch back. He was very professional and wonderful to work with. We decided to add videography at the last minute because we thought we might regret not having it, and I am SO happy we asked Jim at Direct Entertainment if they had someone available for our day just a month before, and they did!! Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. “I found Mike via thumbtack & although on there it stated he was booked on my wedding date I thought I’d still reach out to him. I’m so happy I did because he put me in touch with our dj, thankyouteddy and he did an awesome job djing for our wedding! Mike was very informative and gave me plenty of information. He also has you do a questionnaire to help narrow down the right dj for you based off your music preferences. Mike will reached out periodically to follow up & also puts you in touch with the dj the week of the wedding to go over details. Teddy arrived on time and kept everyone on our toes throughout the night. The only thing I will say, is if you’re doing bridal party introductions it’s best to rehearse it if possible. Or give an exact time of the song for your dj to play when each couple comes out.”

“We booked through Steve upfront and he was so terrific to work with on initial arrangements. Our DJ, Drew, was absolutely fantastic! He handled both our ceremony and reception music, and everything was seamless from start to finish. In our pre-wedding meeting, we introduced him to a few unique ideas, and he embraced them all without hesitation. He began the night with familiar favorites for our older guests and then shifted to a younger, more upbeat vibe as the evening progressed. “Kyara was absolutely FABULOUS! She was so easy to communicate with, and my guests loved the music selection during dinner (a few even sang along occasionally). She learned 5 songs for our ceremony (all video game songs), and she also helped me surprise my bride by playing "All I Ask of You" from The Phantom of the Opera while I sang. She met with me in person to rehearse, and it was so natural singing with her. We obviously were not able to practice in the space beforehand, but it was PERFECT when the moment came to surprise my bride. The fact that she had a speaker setup was a huge bonus, and the baby grand shell added an extra layer of elegance to the setup that I loved. I cannot recommend Kyara enough- absolutely incredible, beyond talented, and truly made my vision for the day come to life. Music is a huge part of my life, and I am so glad that we chose Kyara to help bring that love to our guests.”
