About Wendy & Her Business Wendy Duncan is a wedding officiant, personal development coach, and motivational speaker who has joyfully blended her passion for serving people with her love for celebrating love. With over 900 weddings officiated, each ceremony is approached with heart, presence, and professionalism. “I predicted I’d like officiating—but I love officiating,” Wendy says. “Seeing the bride walk down the aisle, watching the love between two people, and engaging their guests… it’s fulfilling in every way.”

I truly can’t say enough about Wendy Duncan. Not only did I work with Wendy as a personal development coach during such a transformative season of my life, but she also stood beside us and officiated our wedding — the most important day of our lives as I married the love of my life. Having someone who knew me so personally and deeply guide that moment meant more than I can put into words. Her attention to detail, care, and intentionality made our ceremony feel sacred, personal, and completely us. We included so many unique elements that were meaningful to my husband and me, and Wendy didn’t just accommodate them — she embraced them fully. She made us feel like the most important part of the day, because to her, we truly were. Wendy creates space for everyone. She embraces people of all genders, sexualities, races, religions — you name it. Her heart is expansive, inclusive, and deeply compassionate. She is a rare, one-of-a-kind human. From personal development coaching to officiating a wedding, Wendy is simply the best you can hire. If you have the opportunity to work with her in any capacity, take it. It will change your life.

EC Matrimony
Rating: 5.0 (37 reviews)
  • Offers 10 ceremony types
  • Starts at $150
  • Serves North Powder, OR for additional fees

A Portland native, and founder of EC Matrimony, Ernie has become an expert in all things weddings. Having recently stepped away from a career in Marketing/Public Relations, Ernie has taken his business from part-time to full-time in 2021 to help more couples realize their wedding dreams. Throughout his 18 years in the industry, and having performed over 3,000 weddings, it’s easy to see why he’s been featured in bridal magazines, national IG posts, and been featured in Huffington Post twice, and on realty TV. Add to that the dozens of national awards he’s won over the years, and you can tell why he’s in demand as a wedding officiant.

Ernie from EC Matrimony was an incredible officiant for our wedding. He really got to know us as a couple and provided feedback that enhanced our ceremony in so many ways. Ernie customized the ceremony to us and let us take the lead on what we wanted included, which was so important to us. We really appreciated Ernie's thoughtful communication, his attitude of non-judgement, and the way he incorporated all the important phrases and stories we wanted to include in our ceremony. He made us feel seen and ensured our special day was exactly what we had envisioned.

Hi! My name is Anna Soco (she/her) and I'm the PNW's premiere Queer wedding officiant and believer in love. My work is rooted in the belief that love is alive, communal, and transformative - and because of that, your wedding ceremony should be, too! I work with soulmates of all kinds to create ceremonies that reflect what truly matters most to you. My clients (y'all!) are my "co" - each new client relationship is an opportunity to learn more about love, together. I adore, appreciate, and learn from each and every one of you. And I never quit rooting for my couples!

As a fellow wedding vendor, I’m very intentional about who I recommend to couples, and Anna is ALWAYS at the top of my list! She is incredibly communicative, caring, and attentive to the little details that make each couple’s love story unique. She takes the time to truly get to know her couples and weaves those details into a beautiful, meaningful ceremony that feels so personal to them. Beyond that, Anna leads with love, inclusivity, and genuine warmth. She has a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and completely at ease. I couldn’t recommend SoCo & Co more highly — and I’m always happy to send couples her way!

Anthony is a licensed attorney who started officiating weddings in Oregon as a Judge (hence our company’s former name, The Wedding Judge). Matrimony Northwest has expanded in the 15 years since Anthony officiated his first wedding and has added two additional officiants—Emily and Henry. The three of them have officiated thousands of weddings in the Pacific Northwest in all different types of venues - back yards, courtrooms, coffee shops, beaches, mountain vistas, and more. Anthony is only the second person to have officiated a wedding in the Oregon State Capitol Building, and the only person to do so in modern times.

Let me start by saying I was completely unprepared for my own wedding! I was several hours late because I nearly fainted and couldn't walk. We almost had to cancel after the ceremony had already been delayed for hours. My parents were literally holding me up so I wouldn't collapse, and after convincing the venue owner and wedding planner that I still wanted to get married, a golf cart was brought in to get me to the aisle! At the top of the stairs my parents immediately started bickering, and my dad finally said, "Just grab her other hand, I can't get her down the aisle by myself!" I couldn't help but laugh. Looking back, I must have looked like I'd had one wild bachelorette party the night before! I was pale, wobbly, and clumsy. My veil was even pulled right out of my hair on the way down the aisle, and all I could do was laugh and say, "Oops! Oh well!" The moment I reached the altar and took my husband's hands, everything else faded away. It was the most magical moment of my life. Anthony was our officiant, and despite my late email replies, endless questions, and all of my chaotic ideas, he handled everything with kindness, patience, and professionalism. He created a beautiful ceremony that included both a handfasting and Las Arras (the Hispanic tradition of 13 wedding coins), honoring both my husband's Irish heritage and my Hispanic heritage. He also blended Spanish and English beautifully throughout the ceremony without simply repeating everything twice. It felt natural, meaningful, and welcoming for everyone. After the ceremony he stayed for dinner and cake, and we even got to chat afterward. Then came the cake cutting...which quickly turned into cake demolition because I had no idea how to cut a three-tier cake! I finally looked at everyone and joked, "Well...I guess we only have three slices of cake!" Everyone burst into laughter. Also when I mean demolished, I mean the cake looked like a sugar crazied army of toddlers got ahold of it! If you're looking for an officiant who is thoughtful, flexible, rolls with the punches, handles chaos well, genuinely caring, and able to make your ceremony feel completely personal, Anthony is your person. He took every crazy idea I had and made our wedding unforgettable. I truly cannot recommend him enough!!! Thank you, Anthony, for giving us the perfect ceremony despite all the chaos surrounding it! I wouldn't have had it any other way!! I attached some of our wedding photos below :)

I create completely custom wedding ceremonies for couples who want something personal, meaningful, spiritual, and magical. With 20+ years of experience in mindfulness, ritual, public speaking, storytelling, and personal growth, I craft each ceremony around your story, values, humor, and vision. From heartfelt and simple to ancient traditions, handfasting, nature-based rituals, meditation, or even a mead ceremony, I love working with creative, adventurous, spiritual, fantasy-loving, and nontraditional couples.

Aaron was wonderful to work with and brought such a unique, enchanting energy to our Dragon Kids Camp.
