We had several issues with scheduling and the timing of when our pre-wedding call was, but Sarah was so understanding and worked with us so that we felt confident in the details given to our photographers. From the moment the photographers arrived at the wedding to the moment they left, they were energetic and encouraging as a part of the celebration. “When we were planning our elopement style wedding day, we were certain we wanted to hire a photographer. However, we were overwhelmed with the confusing packages and high costs until we found Matthew Chambers photography. We highly recommend hiring him for a no-fuss, easy experience. This was our first time hiring a photographer. We liked his simple 3 tiers of service (raw only, partial-service, or full service) and that he charges hourly based on service. The business model just made sense and fit our modest wedding budget. His common-sense pricing made professionally capturing our day accessible. We also liked that he is locally based in Leander and that he has a broad portfolio in case we wanted to re-hire him for future milestones/events. Most of our communication was done electronically via Zola or texting. With our busy schedules, this was preferred to make arrangements. So we met Matthew for the first time on our wedding day! Matthew was delightfully conversational and chatty which made relaxing easier. We loved the mixture of capturing moments “as is” and having him coach us through staged photos. He was very patient with our poor choreography skills. We had more fun with the posed photos than anticipated! Matthew was early to shoot and had a faster than promised turn around on photos. Less than 24 hours for access to raw photos and about 10 days for initially edited photos. While I say this, please note that we had a smaller project and turn around times can vary. The one thing we would do differently is length of booking. My husband and I were CERTAIN 2 hours would be more than enough for our simple nature elopement, but we probably could have booked 3 hours. We got all the shots we agreed upon (and more!), but it was more fun than expected. “The moment” truly goes by quicker than expected. So if you’re unsure, go ahead and book the extra time & savor the moment. Note: we found Matthew via Zola. My bestie recommended that I make a wedding site even though we were eloping. I’m glad I listened! One of the best things out of doing this was the “vendor locator” service on Zola. It connected us to photographers interested in working with us and got us directly messaging them. I read Matthew’s website and just instantly liked him and his work. Thankful he was available for our day! **attached is a sample of a raw vs edited from our day!”

What was important to my Fiance and I when selecting a photographer was someone that would do the basics, quick responses, a modicum of flexibility, shows up on time, that kind of thing. We also wanted someone who would be fun to work with, listen to our requests, and when needed share, based on his extensive experience, what we should be doing differently. We wanted a photographer that could direct people in group shots, and direct us! we're not models (even if my wife looks like one) but Branson was fantastic at getting the best and most natural poses out of us. They were great at communication - thoroughly documenting details over email and phone calls leading up to the big day. On the wedding day itself, they jumped right in to capture candid moments as they happened. For example, they photographed all of our guests arriving at the cocktail hour with us. The photos turned out beautifully, really capturing the spirit of our wedding at a fair price. My only minor critique would be that it was hard to pose for some of the more formal shots because the photographer didn't do a countdown before snapping the pic. And unfortunately due to the event timing, we were not able to take as much photos with the family/bridal party as we had wanted in our consultation. I would recommend couples to keep in mind specific shots during the wedding; the wedding day was extremely hectic for us but it would have been nice to have the photographer (us as well) remember our consultation on what shots we were important for us for them to photograph. But overall, I'd recommend Reflections Media to other couples looking to preserve memories of their special day.”
