I'm Jem. The first thing most people notice about me is my accent. I grew up in Sydney, Australia, and eventually followed love all the way across the world to New England, where I now call home. I’ve been photographing weddings since 2010, after a friend asked me to capture their big day. I didn’t know it then, but that “yes” would change everything. From the moment I picked up my camera at that wedding, I knew I had found the work that makes me feel most alive. What I love most is creating photographs that feel like real memories, not stiff poses. My goal is for you to look back and not just see how your day looked, but feel how it felt.

Atmospheric Imagery on Digital, Film & Super8. I started with photography by photographing Punk/Hardcore bands but eventually stopped photographing those shows because I didn't want my camera gear to get broken by someone stagediving. Being apart of that community help me cultivate friendships with people all over the world, and gave me lots of travel opportunities. Those experiences carried over into weddings helping me understand how to anticipate real moments and being comfortable constantly surrounded by new people.

Well, being married to my best friend and soul mate, father to three of the most beautiful, strong, and wicked smaht women evah is how I spend my off days. Married for almost 20 years and the kiddies all grown up the wife and I love traveling, enjoying good rye, always on the hunt for the best old fashioned, and being vegans. My goals in life currently is to travel the country in a van with our little dog winter a.k.a “my buddy” and enjoy the little things just in every state possible!

I like to take pictures of people and their special moments in different and unique ways. Every person, every subject, and every important day is different, so the variety of approaches I use will be just as diverse. I’m not your typical mall studio photographer and I always think outside of the standard ‘pose-smile-and-say-cheese’ box.
