I’ve spent close to 30 years behind the decks and have DJ’d more than 1,500 weddings. I’ve worked traditional, multicultural, religious, themed weddings, as well as Bar and Bat Mitzvah, unconventional and wonderfully quirky celebrations, along with major corporate, political and private events. I love the challenge of bringing very different people together through music. Every event is different, and my job is to listen, understand what matters to you, build the right musical experience, and keep the reception moving naturally. I’m just as comfortable handling the formalities and microphone as I am taking over the dance floor when it’s time to party. Best of Bay Nominee - 2026

Experience is the biggest difference: 30 years and 1,500+ weddings means I’ve seen just about every kind of crowd, tradition, venue and unexpected moment. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all wedding playlist. I customize music to the couple and their guests, can actually mix, build custom sets and edits, and adjust the music as the room develops. I’m also an experienced MC with a natural, professional alto/baritone voice: clear and confident without the cheesy wedding-DJ routine. My background includes 8 years with AEG Atlanta in a corporate entertainment environment, plus major corporate and political events.

    Best Wedding DJ!

    Our wedding day went by in a blur, but one thing we remember very clearly is how much fun our reception was. DJ Grateful Dan played a huge part in that. What impressed us most was how effortlessly he handled everything. We never felt like we needed to check on the timeline, worry about announcements, or wonder what song was coming next. He was paying attention to everything happening around him and kept the evening moving naturally. And the music was fantastic. He didn't just play the songs we gave him — he understood the vibe we were going for and knew how to build the night around our guests. The dance floor stayed busy, and people of all ages found something they loved. He also has a great presence. He's personable, confident, and clearly knows his craft, but he never makes the wedding about himself. That's a harder balance to find than you might think. If you're looking for a DJ who will take ownership of the reception, keep things organized, and make sure your guests have an incredible time, we highly recommend DJ Grateful Dan. We spent our wedding actually enjoying ourselves instead of worrying about what was happening next, and that was priceless.

    Best DJ EVER

    We could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From the first conversation, DJ Grateful Dan made us feel like we were in good hands. He took the time to understand the kind of night we wanted and somehow managed to turn all of our ideas into a reception that felt completely natural and uniquely ours. The dance floor was packed all night, and the transitions between songs were fantastic. He has a real talent for reading the room. He knew when to keep things moving, when to switch things up, and when to give everyone a chance to catch their breath. His personality also added so much to the night. He was fun and engaging without ever making himself the center of attention. What really stood out to us was how professional and prepared he was. Everything was handled smoothly, communication was easy, and we never once had to worry about what was happening behind the scenes. Finding the right DJ can be surprisingly difficult, and we feel incredibly lucky that we found him. If you're looking for someone who brings great music, great energy, and a truly professional approach to your wedding, DJ Grateful Dan is absolutely worth talking to.     A Hidden Gem of a Wedding DJ

    DJ Grateful Dan was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. His experience really shows!! The music was mixed perfectly, the flow of the night was seamless, and his energy was infectious without ever feeling cheesy or over-the-top. He knew exactly when to keep the energy going and when to let the moment speak for itself. He worked closely with our wedding coordinator throughout the entire day and was incredibly easy to work with. Even when we made changes right up to the last minute, he was flexible, accommodating, and made everything happen without adding any stress to our day. We honestly feel like we found a hidden gem.
