We do it all: We want say we do it all - but let’s stick to what we’re really good at here: Custom Wedding Band DJ + Live Band Hybrid feat. DJ Gray on trombone + drums + the Stompers horns New Orleans-style Brass Band - perfect to surprise your guests with live music at the end of your ceremony, cocktail hour, during the reception, after party. This band can be acoustic - meaning it can go anywhere remote like the beach / woods, doesn't need electric, etc! Our members have played with most of the wedding bands on the Jersey Shore, so most importantly, we know what works! We're here to make sure we're playing what you want to hear versus being stuck to do the thing we do. We LOVE New Orleans music, and we think that upbeat, positive sound is a perfect way to do something different at your wedding. We're completely open to you dialing that from 1 - stick to less NOLA and more pop / weddings tunes to 5 - bring us to New Orleans and let's party! We like to think we can provide anything you can imagine and love to take your ideas / directions and run with it together.

    Gold Standard

    Unforgettable wedding- you need to hire the Ocean Avenue Stompers! We had them lead a "second line" procession for our wedding party on the Asbury Park boardwalk, and it was absolute magic. The music was energetic and fun, and it had everyone moving (even those on the boardwalk looking in). What we loved most is that while they are incredibly talented and commanding on stage, they always kept the focus on our celebration. Literally every single compliment we received from our guests mentioned how amazing the band was. They truly are the gold standard!

    Raise your wedding to the next level with a performance by the Ocean Avenue Stompers! Our wedding was held on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, which was the perfect setting for a "second line" procession of the wedding party into the venue. The entrance was stunning and immediately set the tone for a joyful, high-energy celebration. The music was vibrant, uplifting, and toe-tappingly fun! While the band brought incredible stage presence, they never overshadowed the main event—our wedding celebration. The Stompers are the perfect enhancement to any special occasion. They were mentioned in every single compliment we received from our guests, which is the ultimate testament to the memorable role they played in our special day.     Unique DJ live band perfection!

    From our first conversation with Ocean Avenue Stompers, we knew we'd made the right choice. Ian communicated in a way that was straightforward and easy to follow, making the whole planning process stress-free. As a couple who love to dance and listen to music, they absolutely nailed our vision by blending our eclectic tastes together and bringing it all to life with live sax, trombone, and drums. The dance floor didn't empty once all night—they kept the energy going the entire time and were honestly the talk of the reception. Their performance was outrageously good, and they genuinely made our entire day special. We can't recommend them highly enough.

    Book the Ocean Avenue Stompers for your wedding!!! Ian and all of the Ocean Avenue Stompers band members did such an amazing job performing at our wedding. We got married on Oct 3rd, 2025 at the Molly Pitcher Inn and had the DJ / Band hybrid. They handled all of our ceremony music, their brass band played for cocktail hour, and then we had the DJ set with 4 piece band for the reception. We wanted our wedding to feel energetic and fun and like one big celebration and party and Ian Gray and the Ocean Avenue Stompers did just that! They made sure to play specific songs we requested ahead of time, and really paid attention to detail with everything. They were absolutely phenomenal and we highly recommend them!

    Block Party Wedding

    Worth every penny! We hired the stompers for a block party wedding and they were incredible, the music, talent, correspondence. Super professional and highly recommended.

Whatever you'd like us to - all black suits, old school tuxedos with tails and white bow-tie, or keep it funky and colorful like Preservation Hall Jazz Band and be ourselves which is what mostly keep too - nautical colors and looking fly.
We ask couples to reimburse the cost of insurance on an event-to-event basis. It typically starts at $60 before venues ask for additional insured..

We refer to Philadelphia and NJ our home markets and are happy to travel anywhere! We determine cost of travel gas, tolls, parking, lodging into our quote depending where your wedding is!
We know so many vendors. Happy to connect! We can provide uplighting for the band or dancefloor lighting to transform the room into a fun club feel.
the answer is yes - we know SO many and love suggestions that fit into our sound. Some songs are harder than others where we might ask an arranging fee to insure the song is performed as well as possible which is always possible to add on leading up to the event.
We love working with you by providing a song list we have that includes hundreds of songs, from there we guage which you love, are into, and don't need to hear allowing you to fully customize the songs you're hearing at your event! When we do the DJ + live band hybrid we love when you give us suggestions for diffrent parts of the night. We'll play all your requests 100% no problem. We're there to play what you want to hear - you have us for the day.
We're a network. We have 50+ musicians we work with and we're taking the best musicians from the NYC + Philly music scenes and employing them when they're not off touring the world. It's a special thing that really can only exist in this area and maybe LA, Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans?

As early as necessary, typically 3 hours before a 4 hour reception. If we need to get there earlier because ceremony is close to hear us sound check, then we will.
