About Radiant Art by Kristin Chase

Radiant Art by Kristin Chase

Artist

I specialize in live wedding painting and custom commissions from photos. At your wedding, your guests are encouraged to interact with me while I work, and I'll not only amaze them with my ability to capture your faces perfectly, but that I can sing and dance while doing it. Since I'll be interacting with your guests all day, who I am is important. My husband and I got married in Tuscany, and we went through two rounds of IVF to get our wonderful son. I love reading fantasy - especially Brandon Sanderson and TJ Klune. I'm currently emotionally invested in ACOTAR and am waiting for my invitation to join Rhysand's Court of Dreams. I love to travel, and I'm a part time middle school band teacher. I love love and am extremely LGBTQ+ friendly.

I am the only vendor you will bring in to your wedding who will interact with your guests on a conversational level. Not only do you get a painting, but your guests get to watch it come to life throughout the night, and they are encouraged to talk to me while I work. There's no time limit to how long you get me on your wedding day, or how many hours in the studio I will spend finishing the details of your painting. Your painting will meet my standards, regardless of how many hours it takes. This may be the most important piece of art you ever own, and I don't take that responsibility lightly.

Created a beautiful family portrait of my late grandmother and family. The painting means so much to myself and my family. We are so thankful for Kristin’s time, talent and care.

Kristin did 7 memorial pieces for my entire family. From start to finish she truly showed so much respect, care, and passion with the entire process. Each painting turned out absolutely perfect. Now my family has beautiful portraits with pieces of my grandmother painted into them, and something we’ll be able to cherish and remember her by forever. Kristin did an incredible job bringing this project to life. Even with the amount of time and work that went into creating all of these pieces, she completed everything in a very timely manner and kept great communication with me throughout the entire process. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out or more grateful for what she created for our family.. Thank you Kristin!

Kristin was absolutely incredible! The whole process was fantastic, from our meetings to plan out what the shot would be to the day of the wedding. We had multiple guests comment that it was one of the coolest things they have seen at a wedding - Kristin was definitely the highlight of many of my little kid cousins! To top it all off, the picture is absolutely stunning and something we will cherish for the rest of our lives! My husband said “best money we spent on the whole day” after seeing it completed!

You should book your live painter as soon as possible, but after your venue/date have been solidified. I typically book 6-14 months in advance.
Depends on the canvas size. The base price for any canvas size includes just the couple getting married, and additional people/pets are an extra that you can add a la carte. I typically recommend including just the couple, but for larger canvas sizes and scenes, we can definitely discuss adding specific people or crowds.
Due to the level of detail I paint in, your painting will not be complete by the end of the night. The canvas will be covered, the background will be blocked in, and your portraits will be as close to done as possible. I rarely do lace detail work on dresses on the day of, because intricate details are best saved for fresh eyes in the studio. By the end of the night, your guests will say "that looks exactly like them!" and you will be able to see your painting as the first image of yourselves that you see on your wedding day.
Of course! I can literally move buildings and mountains for your painting :) I have used up to four different reference photos to create the composition for a live painting. We can modify and tweak anything you want.
Absolutely. I'll take reference photos and videos with my phone so I can paint anything you want me to paint wherever you want me to paint it. I have moved locations up to three times at one event, and it's not a problem.
Your live painter is the only vendor you will hire who will have direct interactions with your guests one-on-one. I'm not just there to paint for you, I'm also there to chat with your guests and bring them into the process. You need a painter you can trust to be warm, welcoming, and engaging with your guests of all ages and backgrounds. (Enter me) I frequently tell guests "If I didn't want to talk to anybody, I'd paint at home." Guests typically marvel at my ability to dance, sing, and paint all at the same time. I'm sorry in advance, but I will befriend your DJ and ask that they play a Backstreet Boys song for me if it fits into their plan.
No matter what happens, you will get a painting. I have a medical emergency and have to bail on you? Painting from a photo or money back. It snows three feet in the 24 hours right before your wedding and the roads are impassable and I can't get to you, or you have to postpone your wedding? Painting from a photo or your money back. The unthinkable happens and your wedding is called off? Your retainer goes toward any painting you want. My contract is thorough, and it is truly designed to protect us both and ensure that you get a painting no matter what.
I book your studio time when you sign your contract, so the earlier you book, the sooner after your wedding I get to dive back into your painting. It could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months depending on when you book and when everyone else booked. 2026 turnaround time has been 4-8 weeks. Please note that I am also a mom of a super cool 4 year old and a part time middle school band/orchestra teacher, so my studio time does have restrictions, which is why putting an additional 10 hours into your painting might take two weeks on its own.
