Your first dance is one of the few spotlight moments of your wedding night. Our goal at TWRL Dance is to make you feel your best in the moment that is captured the most! TWRL Dance LLC is a Chicago-based wedding dance service offering simple, easy lessons that make couples look and feel confident for the spotlight dancing moments of their wedding day. We offer 45-minute private lessons designed to make you look and feel confident when dancing in front of your family and friends on your wedding day, without the stress of memorizing custom choreography or nailing perfect technique.

How TWRL Dance Lessons Work: 1) Filler Moves: You’ll first practice “filler moves”. These are the basic steps that help you stay on beat with your song, get great pictures, and be present during this special moment. 2) Statement Moves: You will then learn 3-4 “statement moves”. These are the twists, turns and dips that get your crowd going. 3) The Result: You mix & match the above and you have a wedding dance that is low stress, looks amazing, and most importantly allows you to enjoy the moment.

    Great Teacher for First Dance!

    My husband and I used Catie for a dance lesson before our wedding. We didn’t have any dance experience but wanted something more personal than a lot of the packages you find online. Catie was the perfect find! She made us feel comfortable on the dance floor without forcing a bunch of planned choreography. Catie was a great teacher and we highly recommend for anyone looking for a few dance lessons!

    Dance Lessons for Beginners

    My husband and I are not natural dancers. We didn’t want a completely choreographed first dance, but we wanted to learn some basic steps and incorporate some fun moves to shock and amaze our guests. Catie did just that. We had 1 lesson with Catie where she had familiarized herself with our first dance song and prepared a few fun moves to teach us. We practiced the dance moves by themselves and then she gave us the freedom to integrate them throughout our dance. We left with big smiles and a lot more confidence for our first dance.     Confident on the dance floor in just 3 weeks

    The simplest way for a great first dance

    Catie was instrumental in helping us create our first dance. She doesn't just give you dance moves, she creates beautiful moments. Her instructions don't overwhelm you or overcomplicate things. I had 1000 thoughts running in my mind the day of the wedding so having elegant, yet simple dance moves for our first dance was SUCH a game changer. Everyone thought we got weekly lessons, but we literally just met with her once and felt confident to do our whole dance.

We recommend booking your lesson 1-2 months prior to your wedding day.
TWRL Dance lessons are taught from a rental studio in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago near the Irving Park Brown Line stop. (details provided at booking)
Yes! We teach parent dances such as father / daughter and mother / son dances.
TWRL Dance lessons are designed to be simple and efficient, so you will get everything you need in only one session! Because of this, we strongly advise only booking one lesson. However, if after your lesson you prefer to have more time with an instructor, you can schedule another.
Unfortunately, at this time we do not provide virtual lessons or lessons outside of Chicago.
