I'm a photojournalistic Pacific Northwest Photographer dedicated to telling authentic stories where love of nature and love of one another meet. Whether I'm photographing a pair of nesting Osprey on Sauvie Island, or you and your beloved partner exchanging vows at Silver Falls State Park, one thing always holds true about who I am and how I work...you can always find me where the wild things are. As an outdoors enthusiast and naturalist, I specialize in weddings, elopements, landscape/wildlife and fine art portraits.

I am LGBTQ+ safe & affirming, believe Black Lives Matter, respect POC/Indigenous communities, am anti-racist, and will only book clients who share in those values. ​ I'm a former Park Ranger, Outdoor Educator and am Leave No Trace Master Educator certified. I have over a decade of wilderness experience and was a former Wilderness EMT.

    Awesome!

    From our first conversation, Amanda Stern Photography made it easy to work with her. She was friendly and straightforward about everything, which put us at ease right away. On our wedding day, Amanda felt like part of the group while still capturing incredible photos from every angle. She interacted with our guests naturally and made sure everyone felt comfortable in front of the camera. The photos turned out stunning and really show the joy of our day.     Wow Amanda was absolutely amazing from the beginning. Not only is she kind, accommodating, and super amazing to work with, her work speaks for itself. I had the privilege of having Amanda as my photographer and the photos were OUTSTANDING even better than i was imagining. She showed up to the location of my wedding and got there 2 hours early so she could scope out every floor and find the best picture opportunity’s that alone speaks volume of the passion she has to photography. I open my bookings 1 calendar year in advance of available dates. In November 2026, I'll be opening up bookings for January 2027-December 2027. Most couples book between 6 months to 1 year in advance of their event.
Yes! If you book with me you will be getting me as your lead photographer, and depending on your package, you will also have my Associate Photographer as well. I do have an exclusivity clause in my contract, which means no additional Professional Photographers can be booked for your same event unless they are booked with/through me.
No! I hand-edit every image and do not use AI to cull or edit your images. These photos are the most important, meaningful day of your life, and they deserve a human eye attentive to detail. I edit in a classic, timeless style and your images will be gorgeous and cherished for years to come. Don't worry about minor skin blemishes, that unfortunate cat scratch, or small stain on your suit jacket - all of that will be hand-edited to perfection by me.
Yes, I collaborate with Professional Videographers! If you want to add a Videographer to your package, we can absolutely do that.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your full gallery online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding during peak season (May-October), and within 2 weeks during the slow season (November-April). You'll get sneak peeks within 48 hours of your wedding in a private gallery.
You can expect your gallery to be about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing, with an average gallery of 600 photos. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do, and my business is an established LLC! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them. Be sure to only book a Professional Photographer who is insured, as finding out a photographer is not really a professional can be a real pain if anything goes awry on your big day.
