I’m Aira, a documentary wedding photographer based in Maryland, available worldwide. I show up, get to know you, and quietly capture everything as it unfolds — the moments you noticed, and the ones you didn’t. Gentle guidance when you need it. Just you, being completely yourselves. Happy as a Clam!
My husband Luke and I got married in September. We had a weekend, woodsy wedding. We are very laid back, gave a rough vision and were exceptionally pleased with Aira, and the photo she took. We didn’t enjoy the idea of being center of attention (kinda challenging during OUR wedding) and what we both were most looking forward to was watching our large families blend together and celebrating as one big family. Other than ensuring we had a few group photos, we didn’t want structured, posed looks. The reason we wanted a documentary style wedding was to capture the emotion of the celebration without forcing it. What we mostly wanted was someone to capture the small moments caught between people on the sidelines. Aira was great- so helpful and courteous, plus we really enjoyed her second shooter. We can tell they enjoyed being there. So far we have seen our first looks (WOW- I’m beyond thrilled. The photos of us are great, more than I could have wished for. Caught some cute moments and I’m beyond exited to see the rest- during the wedding my heart would smile at all the photos she was taking and moments she was capturing of our guests). We had friends with vlog cameras (similar to the cinematographer option she offers in which your friends film the event. Aira during our wedding day helped them find good angles for the tripod and even got some great shots herself when it was passed to her. She was very quick to offer help). To use my own words, the below is the email I sent to Aira following the wedding)… [Hi Aira!! Omg- thank you so much. SO MUCH!! For everything! And your second shooter was amazing, thank you for choosing and bringing her. Luke really loved her and the groomsmen really enjoyed her energy. Thank you both so so much - our family and multiple people said your shooting styles really complimented each other. A perfect team! Luke and I thought you both really understood our vision, how we wanted our day to run and feel, and you did an amazing job capturing our vision without ever feeling pushy or burdening and I truly felt as if you both were happy to be there and having the time of your lives. —I certainly was! I hope you enjoyed our crazy, entertaining, and endlessly loving family. I hope you had a fun time blending into the background and watching our love story. We both think you did an amazing job already, and we haven’t even seen any yet (except that video [Aira took] of me dancing! Thank you so much for making me feel like a star! You are so overwhelming thoughtful. Thank you for helping our guests pick good vantage points for the video tripod. We made a great choice when we picked you. We have been so blessed). Saturday was the best day of our lives. We have never felt so loved, seen, and cherished. Thank you again (both of you!) from the bottom of our hearts. I remember sharing before our day started that Luke and I, although we’re so bold, tend to shy away from center stage. We were nervous about having a day just about us. Aira is amazing
Aira is so amazing and talented. My bridal party was not the easiest to work with. In fact, there were very high emotions and embarrassing moments that occurred but Aira stayed calm and present. She is more than just an amazing photographer. She held my hand every step of the way even when I became a bridezilla because of my hair. As cliche as it sounds, she was my calm when the waters were rough. She always tried to keep me on track and reassured me every step of the way. This was the best professional photographer experience I’ve ever had and I would book her time and time again.

From the initial consultation through the engagement shoot and wedding day, Aira was authentic, encouraging, responsive, and very easy to work with. She and her second photographer captured the day exactly as we had hoped--with creative, candid, and natural photos that reflected the beauty of the ceremony and venue and the energy of the reception. We also used her They Were There video service and loved seeing the day through the eyes of good friends behind the camera. It was such a special way to relive the celebration and Aira's editing was seriously impressive. The Perfect P of our Special Day!
Aira was so incredible. She was easy to work with, and super responsive. We were a little nervous about taking photos so it was nice to do our Engagement Photos with her as well to get used to being in front of the camera, and Aira was so good at guiding us and making us feel comfortable. Our wedding photos turned out spectacular, we cannot stop looking at them! Aira captured all of the big moments, as well as really sweet little moments we would not have been able to see without her there. She is creative with angles, lenses, and poses, and we could not be happier! We also used Aira's video service and it is truly one of our favorite things to look back at, she edited it so well, and it is such a fun way to see our wedding from a guests perspective!
