We had booked this venue under another management company and I think that's a really important preface - the venue had not been managed for seven months when we arrived so of course it wasn't perfect and there were some issues. None of this was the fault of the new management, who went above and beyond to help us to have a wonderful event. The estate is VAST, there is so much room for a large luxury event here, and plenty of guest space too. It really is a beautiful place for a wedding or special event with a ton of amazing places for stunning photographs.

We had a wonderful 4-day stay and wedding at The Valora Oak this May and couldn't recommend it enough! As our families live far apart, we felt it was important for everyone to really get to know each other better during our wedding weekend. The Valora Oak was the perfect place for everyone to bond leading up to and after our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. This gave us the time we needed to setup/take down the wedding as well as some time to just relax and enjoy the property and amenities. I will preface this review by saying the we booked the property in early 2025 before it became an official wedding venue and therefore, we were grandfathered in at a lower rate that included the whole property. However, the management company and wedding manager, Jimmy Crisp, treated us very kindly during the transition and were very accommodating to all of our requests. Jimmy has worked very hard over the past year to thoughtfully polish and redesign the spaces to be event ready, even adding a bridal getting ready suite. The property itself is huge and is absolutely beautiful—it even comes with its own flock of geese! There were plenty of bedrooms to house family members and it was especially helpful for our grandparents to be able to rest in their rooms as needed throughout our wedding day without the stress of getting transportation to and from a hotel. We chose to setup the ceremony in front of the gazebo, the cocktail hour in the circle in front of the house, and the reception in a tent connected to the main house garage, however, there are truly endless spaces on this property (including two ponds and an indoor/outdoor sports complex) for you to take advantage of. Our guests were all blown away by the venue and it photographed beautifully. We found it helpful to rent a golf cart for the event (cary cart co) to help with shuttling guests and decorations around as well as to use as a married couple getaway vehicle. We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it was the wedding of our dreams. It’s such a unique property and it’s so customizable so there’s a lot of different ways you can do things, and they were super flexible with allowing us to make our vision come to life. They are also extremely flexible with bringing our own vendors. It was a wedding but also an entire weekend experience/ college reunion weekend all in one. You really can’t get that with other venues. Danielle was our main point of contact through out the booking process and we worked with her for over a year, she was extremely responsive and helpful the entire time, letting us tour the property multiple times for planning purposes. Jimmy the property manager was also extremely helpful throughout the weekend and was hard at work making the property prestige. They are only continuing to improve and really receptive to feedback/ ideas. If you’re wondering if you should have your wedding here, the answer is yes!!

I'm a wedding photographer and I love love love this venue! They're incredibly open-minded and supportive of all. The venue managers take great care of the property, it's absolutely gorgeous. I did see a recent review condemning the use of a problematic word within the Metadata of the website and the venue does NOT stand for that. It was an automatic description written by their website building platform and has been removed ♡ I look forward to working with any couples going forward at this gorgeous, expansive venue!
