About this venue
Elegant plantings and cultivated grounds fill this public garden with vibrancy that's more than a century in the making. Long Hill is a property of The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. From 1916 to 1979, Long Hill was the summer home of noted author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, Ellery Sedgwick. He summered here with his first wife, Mabel Cabot Sedgwick, an accomplished horticulturist, gardener, and author of The Garden Month by Month, and his second wife, Marjorie Russell Sedgwick, a rare plants specialist—both of whom created a delightful, enchanting landscape, surrounded by more than 100 acres of woodland. Today, visitors delight in the beauty of Long Hill’s structured and naturalistic gardens as well as a network of woodland trails. A diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and distinctive perennial plants provide color during the growing season, peaking in May and June and providing structure and beauty throughout the year.

An unforgettable venue
We recently had our wedding at Longhill and the entire process was seamless and fantastic. We first toured the venue about a year in advance in early April. It was a snowy and cold day, but we still fell in love with the location. The outdoor garden is a beautiful mix of different foliage along winding paths and stunning lawns. The variety of plants and trees cannot be understated, and we were blown away. We were shown around by Helena, who was an incredible contact for us. She worked through every detail with us and kept our minds at ease. On the actual day of the wedding, it was once again cold and raining in late May. To say it was unexpected was an understatement. Helena and her team handled the weather seamlessly. They let us make the indoor/outdoor call right up to the event. They worked incredibly hard to make sure the day was still perfect for us and they succeeded. Longhill is a beautiful venue and anyone would be lucky to work with Helena.

Long Hill was an absolute dream for our wedding day. From our first conversation, the team proved to be prompt and genuinely helpful—they answered every question we had and offered thoughtful vendor recommendations when we felt stuck. The venue itself is stunning, with gorgeous blooms throughout the grounds and a charming home that set the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Their tent accommodated all our guests comfortably, plus our band and dance floor, without feeling cramped. Long Hill Wedding Venue
Long Hill was the perfect venue for us! The gardens and house are absolutely beautiful, and the tent is the perfect size for reception. Our guests gushed about the location all day! Helena was wonderful to work with! She was very organized and responsive to any questions we had through the whole planning process. She made sure everything went smoothly the day of, and truly helped our day be flawless!

Get Married at Long Hill!
If you're thinking about getting married at Long Hill—do it! We got married here in early September after falling in love with the property and had the best day of our lives. It was made perfect by the amazing team led by Helena who helped us ever step of the way with every question. We even had a rainstorm between our ceremony and reception but it didn't matter because we felt so taken care of, took our photos inside the beautiful home, and got to walk under umbrellas for the entrance to the reception. You can't ask for a more beautiful, romantic and breathtaking spot. My husband and I will remember our wedding at Long Hill forever.

Stunning Wedding Venue
From the moment we booked Long Hill as our wedding venue, their communication was prompt, informative and inclusive. They were incredibly organized, supporting us every step of the way - from storing our decor the day before the wedding to helping coordinate and work smoothly with the catering staff. The venue itself was huge, providing ample space for our large guest list, all at a very fair cost. Long Hill truly went above and beyond to make our special day perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue and highly recommend them to any couple looking to get married.
