About this venue

Opened in spring of 2001, the Los Altos History Museum resides in an impressive three-level, 8,200-square-foot building – built entirely with private donations; building ownership was transferred to the City of Los Altos in 2002. The Museum features a changing exhibits gallery as well as the permanent exhibit, “Crown of the Peninsula,” that describes the rich history of Los Altos and the surrounding area.

An experience to remember for a lifetime

Words cannot express how grateful we are for Los Altos History Museum and Lisa! We had our wedding last Fri and it will truly be one the best and most memorable days of our lives. From start to finish, Lisa went absolutely above and beyond to make planning and ideating our wedding day flawless. Her level of organization and attention to detail is unmatched and will be so immensely helpful and answering your questions to put you at ease. What makes her truly special, though, is her amazing energy. Despite keeping everything running like clockwork, she is so unbelievably chill, warm, and easy to work with. She immediately put us at ease and made the entire planning process stress-free. As for the LAHM venue, our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful and quaint the venue was. It was the perfect blank slate to hold intimate wedding, but had room for quests to still be able sneak away into little pockets of the venue. We are so happy that we stumbled upon this gem of a venue. We are so thankful to Lisa and LAHM 3

Kelly! It was so much fun working with you two. I will miss seeing you both and talking about all the cute things you want to share. It was so much fun to see all of the special things you thought of; the little personal touches really made a huge impact. The special blind box guest gifts were something I was just so impressed with. Just like the two of you, everything was sincere, throughtful and a great reflection of the balance the two of you have. I am so thankful to have been jsut a little part of the team that brought all the little pieces together. Please come visit again, you are both always welcome back :) I can't wait to see the photos of everything! The tea ceremony was so lovely, and it was such a special moment.

    Wedding

We booked Los Altos History Museum for our wedding and had some mixed feelings about the experience. The venue itself is beautiful with spacious rooms, but we were disappointed by the condition of the bathrooms throughout our event. Communication with the staff was unreliable, so we learned the hard way to get everything in writing—including our wedding date, rehearsal date and time—to avoid confusion. They were not flexible when we needed to make adjustments, and the team wasn't very accommodating to our requests. One thing to know going in: read the fine print on your contract carefully because they made it clear we would not be getting our deposit back. While the space has potential, couples should be prepared for strict policies and make sure all details are documented before signing.

Hey Jessica, We could not agree more! It's very important to read through your contract and make sure that you know what needs to happen. We are thrilled that you were able to enjoy the space with your guests, and we will, of course, take into account your feedback.

    Perfect venue with amazing management!!

My fiancé and I chose this venue for our South Asian engagement ceremony, and it was everything we hoped for. From the very beginning, Lisa, our main point of contact, was incredibly patient, organized, and supportive throughout the entire planning process. As a bride-to-be, I had endless questions, and she took the time to answer every single one thoughtfully and thoroughly. She made the entire experience feel so much less stressful and helped ensure we had everything we needed for a successful event. The venue itself is beautifully maintained and transformed perfectly for our garden party-style ceremony. We truly could not have asked for a better experience. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lisa and this venue!!

I am so honored to have been able to support you and your family on your special day. It was exactly as you said - a beautiful transformation for your event into the evening. We are happy to have several South Asian events on the calendar each year, with the opportunity to provide all clients with a space that they can personalize. It particularly enjoyed hearing how overjoyed your family was to celebrate your future. Please, don't be a stranger!

    Shoutout to Lisa!!

I would highly recommend booking this museum in Los Altos for your wedding or any event, really. The venue is absolutely stunning for an outdoor wedding and has an indoor section too. We really wanted a cozy intimate backyard wedding vibe and that's exactly what we got here! Huge plus is my husband loves history, and you get free access to the museum for a year with a ton of other benefits once you have an event here your donation is tax deductible. You also don't need much decor at all due to the natural beauty but we hired a decorator for the arches, stages, and table settings. Lisa will also give you a list of vendors partners you can work with just in case. Overall, she was really amazing to work with and super responsive because anytime we needed to do a tour walk through with vendors or a tour of the venue, she was there. Thanks Lisa for answering all my questions!! You can't go wrong having your wedding here. We had a spring wedding of close to 200 folks and thank God it didn't rain but summer or even fall would be beautiful here. For photoshoot opportunities there’s a ton onsite and a beautiful orchard just steps away from the museum for sunset shots. A magical day indeed.

Thank you, Raisa! It was so much fun working with you and your sister throughout the planning process. I'm so happy that you chose the Museum and you were able to bring all of your ideas to life. It really was the perfect weather for your event and the garden was perfectly lush just in time! I consider it a true honor and pleasure to have gotten to work together with all of our assorted meetings. Please, don't be a stranger!

A Seamless, Magical Day Thanks to Lisa

If you’re considering getting married at the Los Altos History Museum—do it, and make sure you work with Lisa. She made us feel taken care of in every way. When it looked like rain, she calmly walked us through backup options and made everything feel manageable. When we needed help, she had answers before we even finished the question. The most memorable part? She hand-crafted the golf-themed signage for our wedding. It was a masterpiece and became one of the most talked-about details of the entire night. Lisa made our day magical, personal, and seamless. We are forever grateful.

Christa, WOW. What else can or needs to be said? Your day, similar to the two of you was, perfect. Just the right amount of lighthearted, well-timed comedy, a heaping dose of love and sincerity and the cherry on top? The kindest people to celebrate. Even when we were figuring out what to do during the weather forecast debacle, you two were so lovely to work with. I will always remember your eye for design and maximalist tendencies forever fondly. You took this lovely space and somehow found a way to make it even more cozy, trendy, and oozing with beauty. Looking forward to when I see you both again. Please, don't be a stranger!
