The Redstone Theater, perfect sight lines and state-of-the-art projection and sound

This is where we host most wedding ceremonies. This 262-seat theater features comfortable seating, excellent sight lines and a state-of-the art AV system.

This clean white space can be used in a variety of ways depending on the number of guests. We can accommodate a cocktail party for up to 300 guests. You can host a seated dinner with dancing for up to 160 guests or a reception with food stations and partial seating for up to 250 guests when used in conjunction with our Fox Amphitheater.

    The Perfect Wedding Venue and Experience!

    The Museum of the Moving Image was the absolute perfect place for our wedding, and we could not have imagined a more special or memorable experience! From our very first interaction with BG, we knew there was something extraordinary about this venue. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous with his time, giving us a wonderful tour and helping us envision all the possibilities for our wedding. Throughout the planning process, BG was exceptionally responsive, collaborative, and flexible. He genuinely cared about making our vision a reality and went above and beyond to help us create an experience that felt uniquely ours. His pride in the museum and the events he helps bring to life was evident in every interaction. The museum itself is such a spectacular and unique setting. Our guests absolutely loved exploring the exhibits and experiencing the museum as part of our celebration. We have heard countless compliments about how incredible the space was, and so many guests are already excited to return! Choosing the Museum of the Moving Image was one of the best decisions we made. It will forever hold such a special place in our hearts, and we cannot wait to return for years to come. We are endlessly grateful to BG and the entire team for helping make our wedding everything we dreamed of and more!

    Fantastic venue

    Museum of the Moving Image is not your typical wedding venue - which is exactly what we wanted. BG, our venue coordinator was such a pleasure to work with. This was the first venue we visited and instantly knew it was the one for us, a lot of which is down to the level of service BG provided. We had just shy of 100 guests, reception in the main hall, and used the Red Stone Theatre for the ceremony. Our guests LOVED that they had access to the museum throughout the night, it was such a fun and interactive night for them. We're so glad we chose MOMI as our venue and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something different and quirky, thank you to BG and the whole MOMI team!

    Perfect Venue with Great Communication!

    MOMI was the perfect wedding venue for us since we both love film. But even if you aren't a movie buff, the MOMI is an incredible venue - it looks amazing, its spacious and easy to get to, and (the best part) your guests get to explore all of the fun and interactive exhibits! We also had the pleasure of working with BG Hacker, the museum's event coordinator, who always made us feel like we were in good hands. He was responsive and helped us work out all of the little details that go into making a wedding a success. One thing we were worried about was our decision not to hire a DJ and instead have my husband do the music himself -- BG and his staff really helped with all of the technical elements and the music elements turned out great! We can't recommend MOMI enough!

    BG is one of those rare gems in our industry. Very professional, super attentive, and most importantly extremely caring. I Have worked with BG for over 11 years planning corporate events, product launches, screenings, Galas, and many-many-many Weddings. I watched him use that care to advocate and help his event clients create, plan, and manage countless successful events/Parties. With many years of experience, he brings a wealth of creativity and exceptional ideas. Ultimately very contributory to the event planning process. Meeting his high standard of excellence anyone would be lucky to be recommended by him. The Museum of Moving Image has an asset in BG heading and leading the events team, with this asset you can be assured you are in good hands when deciding to have your special event at the MOMI.

We work with a garage that is 4 blocks away. Valet parking is also available through one of our trusted vendors
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
Our existing Cafe furniture is included. In terms of staffing we also include an event manager, building engineer, housekeeping, security, and a projectionist.
Your reservation includes five hours of event time. Your vendors have access to the Digital Learning Suite all day. We allow one hour for clean up.
All renters are required to obtain liability insurance for the event.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 30 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.
