The Red Lion Inn seamlessly blends rustic charm with coastal ease. Built in 1704, this historic inn boasts a magnificent Barn venue adorned with exquisite chandeliers, picturesque gardens, and several bars with enough space to host up to 250 guests. The inn also encompasses 15 hotel suites, onsite catering and event coordination, as well as intimate spaces for rehearsal dinners and private after-party celebrations. Every event at The Red Lion Inn is infused with gracious hospitality and New England elegance.

The Hillside House is 2,852 square feet and a lovely, airy place to host intimate celebrations and micro-weddings, small social events including bridal and baby showers, and corporate gatherings. This room is filled with natural stone, light, soft seaside colors, and pine furniture, setting the stage for a simply elegant event.

This dimly lit speakeasy and dance lounge is located underneath The Red Lion Inn and features a large bar, one-of-a-kind wine cellar, and entertainment stage. It is often a place of leisure to locals and hotel guests, and is also perfect for an intimate private dinner or after party.

Experience the original inn built in 1704 complete with cozy wood burning fireplaces and a picturesque view of the kitchen.
This space features 5 wood burning fireplaces and distinctive accents that create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere for your continued late night celebration or buyout. During the warmer months, the Patio is open for outdoor dining. Just off the porch at the front of the Red Lion Inn is our beautiful patio. The amazing waterfall sets the scene of this serene get-away.

This wooden post beam Barn is the perfect space to host both ceremony and reception with a cocktail hour in the loft space. The loft holds its own two bars with wraparound bench seating fit to accommodate 170 standing guests or 80 seated guests. The main level hosts the boat bar, ample dancing space and seating for 170 guests. The Barn allows access to our picturesque garden and pool patio perfect for photo taking.

From our first time viewing The Red Lion, we knew the Red Lion Inn was the right choice for our wedding. Their communication throughout the planning process was smooth and helpful, especially when we needed to set up room blocks for our guests at the red Lion Andrew was so helpful. On our wedding day, we didn't have to worry about a thing because Samatha and team handled all the details behind the scenes, coordinating with our vendors and keeping everything on track. The space itself was beautiful and well-organized, and honestly, the food was fantastic—our guests couldn't stop talking about it. Samantha was there every step of the way, offering guidance on decisions and making sure everything ran perfectly. We would absolutely recommend the Red Lion Inn to any couple looking for an stress-free, delicious wedding experience.

From the moment we reached out to Red Lion Inn, their team responded right away and made us feel like our wedding was their top priority. Every staff member was attentive and thoughtful, going out of their way to make sure we felt special throughout the entire day. The venue itself is clean and beautiful, with a classic charm. They were efficient with every detail, from setup to cleanup, and the whole experience felt seamless. For the price, we got incredible value and honestly felt like we got more than we paid for. We'd recommend Red Lion Inn to any couple looking for a venue with genuine care and a team that truly wants to make your day perfect.

A review about our experience doesn't feel like I'm serving justice to the experience we had. Every interaction we had was incredible. Andrew and Nancy were incredibly helpful when it came to booking our room blocks for our entire bridal party. The process was incredibly easy and smooth. Being able to have our entire bridal party stay at Inn was so special and fun. We had our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, ceremony, reception, and after party at the the RLI and each event went off without a hitch. There aren't enough words to express how grateful we are for Janey. She was absolutely incredible during to entire planning process. Every question we had was answered with patience and excitement. Any concerns we had went right out the window - every vision I had for the venue was brought to life. She truly cares so much about her couples. Working with her was Sam and Toufik who are also incredible. Toufik set up our bridal suite in the morning was with us until our after party (well past midnight). All night, he was attentive and asking if we needed anything. Sam was so helpful the next morning with packing up our things and was extremely attentive. The day was perfect and I can't thank them enough for everything they did for us. We can't wait to come back for our anniversary.

The Wedding of Our Dreams
We got married at the Red Lion Inn on October 11, 2025 and it truly was the best day of our lives. The whole process was so seamless – from our initial tour of the Barn to the grand tasting and final planning/details meeting, and all the endless calls and emails in between. Everyone was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our event producer, Sam, went above and beyond to ensure our vision was brought to life. The innkeeper, Andrew, was so helpful in recommending the best room options for family members and was extremely accommodating to our guests. And last but certainly not least, Toufik, was by our side ALL night long making sure our glasses were always full and most importantly that we were fed! The absolute best team - more than we could have asked for! And to top it all off the food was incredible. Our guests still rave about it and the fact that everything was in one location, including the after party, was such a plus! Can’t recommend this venue enough! We are so lucky that we live so close and can visit any time, and have already been back for an overnight stay in the bridal suite (we just couldn’t wait until our anniversary!). We are forever grateful to the wonderful staff at RLI and all our amazing vendors for giving us the wedding of our dreams and the most memorable day of our lives!

Magical Wedding Venue and Wonderful Staff
Where to start with the Red Lion Inn. When we looked for venues, the Red Lion Inn immediately popped to us for the level of customer service from the staff and how we felt accommodated for in how we wanted our wedding go on. We were guided through the entire planning process by excellent coordinators who helped us with decisions and keeping us on track throughout the process. When we got to the day of our wedding, the staff really stuck out. They were all so kind and helpful for us throughout the day. It felt almost like being pampered throughout our stay with constant attention on what we needed and running things smoothly. The venue itself is gorgeous and we lucked out with perfect weather which allowed us to fully enjoy the entire grounds throughout the reception. I can continue on but it was just amazing the experience we had and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
