As the owner and lead officiant for VaVow Ceremonies, Steve is the heart and voice behind the memorable ceremonies. Stop scrolling! You found us! My name is Chelsea. I am a New England based wedding officiant who writes and performs custom ceremonies for weddings and elopements. I believe every couple deserves to feel guided by a seasoned professional on their wedding day. I also believe your officiant should feel like a natural part of the day. Warm, familiar, and completely at home within the celebration of your story. My goal is to fit seamlessly into each wedding, sharing your love story with clarity, romance, and just the right amount of humor for the people who matter most. I have two other talented officiants on my team, Ren and Connor, increasing our wedding season availability!

We could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding. From the very beginning, Chelsea took the time to meet us in person and truly get to know our story. After that, she crafted a beautiful ceremony personalized to us, and was patient and receptive to our (very minimal) feedback, making the whole process easy and stress-free. Her professionalism was clear through every step of the process- in her communications, her outfits/appearance, and in how she facilitated our rehearsal, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and prepared. On the wedding day, she delivered our ceremony with confidence, care, and conviction—it was heartfelt, sincere, funny, and everything we ever hoped it would be. We’ve received countless compliments from our guests saying it was the best ceremony they’ve ever attended, which is a true testament to Chelsea’s talent. If you’re looking for an officiant who will go above and beyond to make your day unforgettable, we can’t recommend Chelsea enough!

I very recently got married, and the planning leading up to the wedding went so smoothly and so quickly! Venue, florals, photography- things got checked off our list with relative ease. Then we got a bit stuck- we needed an officiant! It can seem like a simple pick, but if you don’t want to have a friend or family get ordained, and you’re not a member of a traditional religion, it can be a harder match to make. But then, we found Tara at Witchy Woman Weddings and reached out immediately. We’re so glad we did!! Inquiry was simple and responses were fast. We only spoke through email leading up to the day itself, but Tara does have the option to book meetings if you’d prefer some face-to-face contact in the lead up to your big day. She has such a peaceful and warm presence that, even if you’re meeting her for the first time at the altar for the ceremony as I did, you feel that calm and kind energy emanating towards you. The process for creating your ceremony script is both easy and personalized- Tara has an in-depth questionnaire to fill out that covers a wide range of topics so she can tailor the ceremony to your unique story and the vibe you’re aiming to create. It really covers all the bases but doesn’t feel daunting to complete. After that, she delivers a sample script and makes sure to note that edits can be made if there is anything you want changed- we didn’t make a single change to ours! We got emotional just reading through our draft and were amazed at how she captured us in the writing. To sum all this up, I am beyond grateful to have found Tara. She was the perfect person to join us together, mixing elements of both the traditional and the not-so-traditional on our Friday the 13th wedding. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a truly special, unique, and heartfelt ceremony. At the risk of sounding a little cheesy, she truly helped make our day a magical one!

Rabbi Noyo - Officiant

Rabbi Noyo (Rabbi Sarah Noyovitz) is a warm, inclusive, and creative officiant based in Boston, MA. She crafts meaningful, personalized wedding ceremonies for couples of all backgrounds - Jewish, interfaith, non-religious, queer, poly, and beyond. Whether you want something simple or symbolic, she will collaborate with you to make it feel deeply “you.” She brings care, clarity, and joy to every celebration and believes your love deserves to be honored with intention.

Awarded Best of Zola
As a mixed-faith couple seeking an egalitarian Jewish wedding ceremony, we were initially drawn to Rabbi Noyo for her remarkable flexibility and inclusiveness. We really couldn't have been happier with our choice! From the start, Rabbi Noyo made a great effort to get to know us, taking the time to understand our backgrounds, values, and desires for the ceremony. She dedicated an impressive amount of time guiding us through pre-marriage activities (e.g. "life topics" for us to discuss) and detailing the array of possible traditions we might consider integrating into the ceremony -- including both their traditional and more modern/egalitarian variants. It was truly a learning experience working with her! As an officiant, Rabbi Noyo struck a great balance between making the ceremony personable yet traditional, religious yet inclusive. Overall, she was really fabulous to work with, and we couldn't recommend her more highly!

Awarded Best of Zola
Christine was wonderful to work with. From the first call we had you could tell this is a passion for her. Between our zoom calls and emails she was easy to get ahold of and was happy to answer any questions we had. To ensure we had a ceremony that was true to who we are as a couple, she shared an example of a ceremony script she’d just done and then asked us to provide her with our love story and what we like about each other. From there she took this information and wove it into a beautiful ceremony that was personalized, paid tribute to our moms, had a little humor in it and most importantly felt natural. We were able to collaborate after she put together the first draft for any changes. On the day of she arrived early making sure everything was all set and the ceremony would go off without a hitch. I would highly recommend using Christine if you’re looking for a professional JP who really cares about what she does.

Rev. Laurel was incredible during the planning of our ceremony, and the day of. She assisted us in building an order of service from start to finish, with really great suggestions and outlines. She was so communicative leading up to the wedding with all the little questions and details. On the day of the wedding, my (now) husband and I were a bit jittery with adrenaline and nerves. She was incredibly calm and left us feeling so peaceful and at ease in her care at the altar. She was so on top of everything from the rehearsal to the inevitable bit of chaos on the wedding day, we are so unbelievably grateful and appreciative of her, and so happy we found her in Newburyport!

Rabbi Jamie Field
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Offers 4 ceremony types
  • Starts at $1,800
  • Serves Boston, MA

Rabbi Jamie Field was ordained in 2024 from HUC-JIR in New York. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Jamie left the West Coast after high school to attend Boston University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. She loves creating the perfect wedding ceremony that ties together the stories of the couple with the offerings of the Jewish tradition. In her free time, she enjoys watching Jeopardy, looking for antiques, and perfecting her challah recipe.

Rabbi Jamie officiated our wedding, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. What stood out most was the level of organization and professionalism. Every detail of the ceremony was planned and coordinated with care, so nothing felt left to chance. Rabbi Jamie was very intentional about creating several checkpoints throughout the process and communicating every step of the way. But beyond the logistics, Rabbi Jamie took real time to understand what Mariel and I wanted and needed, and brought a genuine empathy that made the ceremony feel deeply personal. That thoughtfulness and attentiveness made all the difference on our day. Our families still talk about how beautiful the ceremony was! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an officiant who combines skill with real heart.

I have been a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Have had the honor and privilege of officiating for over 1050 ceremonies in MA alone. I have also officiate in CO, ME, NH, FL, CT and RI, as a member of the clergy.

Mike was an absolute gem to work with. From the beginning, he was interested in learning about who my partner and I are as people before even getting to what we wanted in our wedding. He is kind, down-to-earth, and incredibly knowledgeable, and he brought both his experience and a great sense of humor to the planning process. We genuinely enjoyed working with him. He listened to our hopes, addressed our concerns appropriately, and was very accepting and flexible. The binder he provided was comprehensive and helped us tailor the ceremony to what fit us best, and Mike helped us make adjustments accordingly. On the big day, Mike brought a calm and confident presence and delivered our ceremony beautifully. He’s very good at reading the energy of the audience and putting people at ease when he senses that they need it. As an anxious and emotional bride myself, that was invaluable to me. He was also very personable with our friends and families and made sure that we were happy and all set after the ceremony. Miri was the perfect wedding officiant for our special day. From the very beginning, Miri's communication style was prompt, thoughtful, and reassuring. She met with us several months before the wedding to learn about us and what we were looking for in our ceremony. Miri then crafted a personalized first draft with lots of wording options for us to choose from, and she carefully pieced together our thoughts to make the ceremony bespoke and meaningful. Miri's work was truly exceptional - she was caring, kind, creative, passionate, and enthusiastic throughout the entire process. We loved the idea of including a peony watering as a symbol of our love, and Miri was so excited to incorporate that element, even selecting an amazing poem to accompany it. Additionally, Miri helped us with our vows and provided thoughtful suggestions - I felt so much more at ease reading my vows for all to hear because of Miri's feedback and support! Miri also met with us for the ceremony rehearsal, ensuring we felt prepared and confident for the big day. We are so grateful to Miri for making our wedding ceremony so memorable and special.
