The Flowr Studio
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Starts at $2,000
  • Serves Burlington, CT

Hi, I’m Josslyn, founder and lead designer of The Flowr Studio, a Connecticut-based and Latina-owned floral design studio rooted in artful and intentional design. I’ve always been drawn to the way flowers can completely transform a space. My approach to design is inspired by nature itself, with an emphasis on movement, color, texture, and letting each flower do what it was created to do. Our name, The Flowr Studio, comes from the idea of flow state, that immersive place of focus where time just seems to kind of disappear. I find that same peace and presence when I design, letting flowers guide me as I shape each piece with care.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Working with Joslyn from The Flowr Studio was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From our very first conversation, her communication was exceptional, she was responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly organized. She truly listened to what I envisioned and somehow managed to bring it to life even better than I could have imagined. One thing I especially appreciated was that she created a custom inspiration lookbook for us early in the process. It was such a helpful and thoughtful way to ensure we were completely aligned on the vision, style, color palette, and overall feel before the big day. Seeing everything come together visually gave me so much confidence that we were on the same page. Her understanding of my style and vision was spot on, and the flowers were absolutely stunning. Every arrangement felt intentional, beautiful, and perfectly suited to our day. The execution on the wedding day was flawless, and everything was delivered exactly as promised. What really sets her apart is the personal touch she brings to her work. When she delivered my bouquets to the hotel, she included a handwritten card that was so thoughtful and meaningful during such an emotional and exciting moment. Then, a month after the wedding, she reached out again to congratulate us and check in, a gesture that speaks volumes about how much she genuinely cares about her couples. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she is also kind, professional, and invested in making your wedding day special. I cannot recommend her highly enough and would choose her again in a heartbeat.”

Each design is thoughtfully curated to create a cohesive, elevated look from ceremony to reception.

“We rented flowers through Something Borrowed Blooms and went with the Jane collection. Flowers were lower on our tier of priorities, so this worked well for us. It was easy to book, rent, and send them back. The one downside was that they changed what the collection looked like between when I booked the flowers and when I received them, and there was no option to go back to the original. They changed the bridesmaids’ flowers to be more floral, when I chose the Jane collection due to the greenery. As flowers weren’t specifically important to me, this wasn’t that big of a deal, but it didn’t feel great to not be able to get what we originally wanted and paid for. After reaching out to them about this issue, we did get a 50% discount on the bridesmaid flowers.”

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

“Flower Moxie - Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers was an amazing vendor for our wedding. From start to finish, their communication was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. When I ordered my DIY flower kit from them, the quality of the blooms was luxurious, with high-end flowers like anemones, yet the overall cost was very budget-friendly. Their detailed tutorials and bouquet recipes made it easy for me and my bridesmaids to create the most gorgeous bouquets together. I'm so grateful to Flower Moxie for helping me achieve my dream wedding flowers on a reasonable budget.”

“I was initially weary to hire a national florist rather than a local one, but once speaking with my poppy team, I was sold. They took my inspiration and ran with it! I loved them because they took so much stress of me. After the initial consult, I barely had to do anything. Closer to wedding day, I was put in contact with my florist, gave her my venue info and she handled everything! With everything I had to plan and worry about, it was nice knowing Poppy had my flowers covered. They came and set up my arch and isle clusters and made sure all my florals went where I had planned for them.”

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

“When I first saw my wedding bouquet I was speechless! It was nothing like any other bouquet I had seen in the absolute best way! The flowers were gorgeous, vibrant, and truly unique, just like I wanted! Kate has such a keen ability to take inspiration photos, run with them, and create something incredibly gorgeous and in line with my vision. The florals she designed brought a lovely pop of color to our reception and pulled the natural look from the landscape into the space exactly like I envisioned. From little details like "snap-bracelet" corsages for the moms to a color-coordinating ribbon on the boutonnieres, Kate totally knocked it out of the park!”

I’m a very simple person and I wanted simple arrangements that still would wow people. Rebecca hit that sweet spot on the nose perfectly! The arrangements turned out stunning—classic and elegant. My grandmother gushed about them all night, and our guests kept complimenting the flowers throughout the reception. What really will stay with me was how Rebecca handled a last-minute request; I had forgotten to order flower girl baskets, and she was able to whip them up on the spot using a spare bridesmaid bouquet I had on hand. Her work exceeded what I imagined, and the whole experience felt effortless because of how professional and thoughtful she was. I'd recommend Rudbeckia Florals to anyone planning a wedding! 5 stars because 100 isn’t available!!”

“Lindsay was so amazing to work with! We hired her to do the flowers for our very small wedding, and the flowers were pretty much our only decor. Everything turned out so stunning. I only showed her a couple of inspiration/general ideas, and mostly told her that we just wanted bright seasonal (August) flowers, and to go ahead and do whatever she thought was best. We didn't have a set color palette since we didn't have a wedding party, so she really could choose whatever she wanted. This was the best decision I could have made because everything was even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Trust me, if you're not a picky bride, ask Lindsay to surprise you and you won't be disappointed!”

The team was detail-oriented, creative, and personable, bringing my vision to life flawlessly. From the vibrant color palette with a variety of florals to the disco ball vases and décor that perfectly reflected my personality, they created my literal dream wedding florals. They even designed my seating chart, personalized with the color of my choice and a meaningful saying, which tied everything together beautifully. Every detail was thoughtful and stunning, it truly felt like my dream brought to life!! I would highly recommend When In Bloom to any couple, especially if you want a florist who shares your passion for creating the most beautiful day through florals.”
