Defiance Hall is a 10,000 sf, authentically restored historic building with reaching mountain views built in 1820. We focus our venue on weddings for up to 125 guests, allowing the event to flow inside and outside the property with arrival cocktail receptions on our outdoor terrace & creekside area or inside in a welcoming space. Dining typically takes place in the main hall, while wedding vows, dancing, and afterparties are held upstairs in The Loft. We offer a full suite of amenities, including liquor and commercial kitchen licenses. We offer in-house or third-party catering. A gorgeous barn venue just waiting to host your dream event! We are a seasonal venue open from April-October. We are a large one story barn with a open floor plan and a neutral feel. Perfect to decorate how you want for your dream wedding. Since out barn is so large we typically only recommend people book with us if their attending guest count is 100+ people. Owners Christopher Johnstone and Tom Burke have been returning this former NY upstate summer estate to its former glory since 2016. Set on 6 beautiful acres amongst the farmlands and orchards just outside Hudson, NY, the property has two barns, 5 apt suites, and a main house, or "Lady in Waiting" as she is known up here.
