The Flower Dude
Rating: 5.0 (27 reviews)
·Ratings include Zola and Google reviews
  • Starts at $1,000
  • Serves Freeport, ME
  • Offer

I'm Don Clark. I run The Flower Dude, a studio wedding florist in Portland, Maine. Studio means no retail shop, and that's the point. Instead of a cooler full of roses that flew up from Miami last week, I work from three gardens in Cape Elizabeth and Kennebunk — so from June through late September, your flowers are cut the morning you get married. I arrange everything myself, then deliver and set it up: bouquets, boutonnieres, arches, reception tables, all of it. Personal and personalized.

“Don did an AMAZING job with our flowers for our wedding! He listened to all of our wants, needs, and inspirations, and brought our vision to life. We had a beautiful arch of greens for the ceremony with white flower accents, and calla lilies were peppered throughout the wedding and used for wedding party bouquets and boutonnieres. There is nothing Don and The Flower Spot can't do!! You'd be remiss if you didn't choose them for your special event.”

“It's hard to put into words how talented and wonderful Tess was to work with. When we first connected, I was immediately drawn to her vision, how collaborative it felt she was, and how she was willing to work with me on planning a less traditional wedding weekend. Aside from some very general direction, I really gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would be best, and then her first proposal exceeded anything I could've imagined so it was a no brainer to work with her. The year of working together was just as great as that first interaction—she is extremely organized and detailed, takes initiative to handle things that were able to be taken off of my plate, and is just clearly so passionate about what she does, and that is reflected in her work. During the wedding weekend, she and her team took on tasks that were outside of what they should've been handling, but did what they thought needed to be done to make my life easier and to make the vision come to life. I was so grateful to have her around for the weekend. But above all of that, the flowers were absolutely incredible. I can't tell you the number of people—both who were at the wedding and who weren't even there—that approached me or reached out to me to tell me they were the most gorgeous flowers that they had ever seen. There wasn't a single person who wasn't blown away by them, my husband and I included!! Long story short.. work with Tess. You won't be disappointed.”

Milkweed Floral Co.
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Serves Freeport, ME

Hi! I’m Iris, the mind, body, and soul behind Milkweed! As a lot of dad’s like to joke, my name must be a birthright into floristry. In all honesty, it really has been a constant thread throughout my life. From picking flowers in my mom’s garden, to working in a flower shop in Boston right after college, then tackling florals for my own wedding in 2021, and eventually freelancing for event florists around Maine - I fell head over heels for wedding florals!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Iris at Milkweed Design Co exceeded every expectation I had for my wedding in 2023! I love flowers and wanted a lot all over the venue, but I didn't specify know which ones I wanted. Iris created the perfect design that I was imagining but couldn't put into words myself. She suggested and constructed an elaborate show stopping floral installation on a tree welcoming guests to the venue and offering an unique backdrop for photos! The colors, textures, and attention to detail were perfection! Each arrangement completely transformed the space into something magical. It was clear how much care, creativity, and passion went into every aspect of Iris' work. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the flowers at the time, and to this day, it's the one thing everyone still brings up! If you’re looking for someone incredibly talented, hard-working, and thoughtful—someone who truly cares about her craft and the clients who trust her with one of the most important days of their lives—look no further!”

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (106 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Freeport, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
“We chose to use Flower Moxie's pre-made bouquets and boutonnieres for our wedding, and we were very pleased with the products we received! The flowers arrived as scheduled and were packaged very well. My bouquets arrived prearranged, so I unraveled them to rehydrate them and only had to discard a few flowers from each (as expected). The flowers rehydrated well and stayed fresh for 3 days until the wedding. The boutonnieres kept well in homemade hydration chambers. I received instructions for flower care in personalized follow up emails, and I was able to find additional info on the Flower Moxie website. I did not require assistance, but my go-to contact during flower delivery, Liz, made it known that I could reach out with questions via text. Overall using Flower Moxie was a stress-free experience that delivered fabulous results!”

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
“The Faux Bouquets was a fantastic florist to work with for our wedding. They had a straightforward, welcoming, and responsive communication style that made the entire process easy and stress-free. Their floral designs were elegant, affordable, and fully customizable to our preferences. They created a beautiful customized bouquet for my wife's bridal flowers and an elegant arch for our wedding ceremony. They even made last-minute adjustments to ensure we had the best possible designs. All of this was provided at an amazing price, and they even gave us a discount for being a local wedding. “Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! The Flower Spot is a small floral studio in Richmond, Maine, owned and designed by Anne Clark. We work from the ground floor of a circa-1854 house on the Kennebec River — the same house that hosts intimate weddings out back. Anne designs every wedding herself. No account manager, no template package menu, no upsell script. You tell her what you love — a color, a photo, your grandmother's garden — and she builds outward from there. Bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony arches, aisle florals, centerpieces, cake flowers, and installations. Whether it's one bouquet or every table in the room, the care is exactly the same.

“I Loved all of the floral arrangements. Just what I wanted. They did outstanding with communications, details, everything. I loved everything. Thank you for everything!! Highly recommend! Got many reviews/comments from the guests”
